Is there a way to save the controls or do I have to change them every time I start the game?

If you use windows 7 you should use windows xp
And your controls will save

Well if you downloaded it there is a good chance that you got a already installed version and in that case you wont have all your registered files

You mean, like, a portable version? No, it's a full version with a complete installation.

I know this is kind of a dead thread, but there is an easy fix for this in Windows 7.

There is a DLL that was removed from Windows after (I believe) XP, Dimap.dll is the name of the file. I found a link to download it pretty easily, or you could copy it from a regular Windows XP installation, I have a feeling.

Take that DLL and drop it in your game install folder - your game will then be able to save your keyboard control setup.

I've been lookin for some years now on how to save my controls without using XP, and finally the "dimap.dll" did the trick indeed. I thank the user who took the time to suggest this solution. I'm using Win 8.1 now and it worked as expected.

Thanks for this sugestion. I search on internet to download Dimap.dll, i put it in Underground 1 folder and the controls remain saved. Thank you. I use windows 10.

I too am on win10. After I inserted Dimap.dll, my game has short freezes every time I do an action other than driving. Changing control (after inputting new control) 1-2 sec freeze, opening a map 1-2 sec freeze, closing the map same, opening and closing messages again. Any idea how to fix it, except for the removal of the dimap.dll?
