You hit square to change divisons and then pick the player you want.

I did that too and it dosent really unlock everybody for me.i tried to play as kobe bryant and I went into every division.so I guess it's not really that good

When you are selecting aplayer press the aquare button,then pick the division and decide on which plater you want
