1 ok if you want hanabi hyuuga, you must date her in ultimate contest (you must beat it and then give her girl stuff)
2 once you unlock hanabi you get another character filling in the space thats not htre yondaime (4th hokage)

To get Hanabi, you have to 'date' her in Ultimate Contest. As you can see, there's only 41 spots for characters, but once you get every single character for each of the 41 spots, you will unlock the 42nd spot, and final unlockable character of the game, The Yellow Flash (aka the 4th Hokage).
