When I did it at first I ffollowed and found thermal goggles. They don work so well though. Then I opened my map and follower it from there.

As the guy above me said,you should find the thermal gogglesat the start, but they don't work too well as long as it's a cold place, what I did was to move a little and then look at the map and so on, later you will find a torch nearby two little waterfalls, then you will be able to see in the cave.
