Well go into battle make sure one or more of your people have a spare equiptment slot, when in battle, move until you are standing on a object such as:
A plant or rock. You will get the option to place into the object or hold object.
Choose place into. This will slow your movement down a little so don't worry about that. Make sure you finish the battle with that player still on the feild.
When you have finished the battle talk to zetta and ask for 'summon' press the right arrow key until you are allowed to summon an object go to the bottom your item that you picked up in battle should be there click on that select where you want it put then go up to it and make a character!
