Question for LMA Manager 2006

Hey, i've had lma manager 2006 now for ages, and every time I play I find that my players get so much worse by the end of the season that I just don't want to play no more. I loved lma manager 2005, because you could buy a crummy player, and 3 or 4 seasons later they'd be the best in the world. 2006 is the opposite, if I start with chelsea for example, frank lampard will lose about 1 overall attribute bar in a season!!! I've tried all different training techniques, and even brought in the best coaches and let them train the players, but it still doesn't work!!! Please help, it's so frustrating!!! Thanks

The 2006 version is just like that... Kinda annoying I know, the younger ones improve, and the older ones get worse... How it is I'm afraid.
2007 is better.
