There's no real recommended level. As long as you have the three abilities, "Leaf bracer, second chance, and once more" you should be able to tackle any boss rather easily.
Otherwise, try and level 5-10 times on each world before taking on the bosses.
Make sure you have good equipment and abilities set, especially the growth abilities which can pull you out of a tight spot in a bind.
