The player that destroyed more people get more experience. I did somrthing similar by going to the spider queen with my level 99 falconess and my level 13 knight. My falconess gained more exp because she killed the spider queen. Try to just have a high level person and a low level person and have the high level person completely weaken the person (or boss) and use the high level person as bait in the end so that the low level person can kill the enemy or boss in the end. I think you will gain more experience for the lower level guy or woman because he/she killed the boss.

Hope I helped.

You gain experience depending on you current level. For example if you kill the first boss a level 1 character will get more experience than a level 50 character.
to answer your question...you do share experience, but you don't share kills.
It's easy to level up a Newbie character if you have a strong character to do all the fighting! >_<
