Need Help Defeating Cid!!

I'm fighting Cid and I keep dying.How do you beat him.I can't level up with the guards always killing me.

Firt concentrate on the bots that are flating around him because while they are still around him he will be immune to physicle damage. Now before the fight I would cast protective spells like bubble, haste, shell, protect,and regen. Now if I remeber correctly you should be able to get platinum gear, now it is expensive but it is worth it so if able, equip your characters with platinum armor, helm and sword. Also a good thing to do is cast stop or disable on him to prevent him from attacking. The while he is standing there attack his bots. Having healers would also be a really good idea.

Im guessing if the guards are always killing you then youre team are not at a decent level! If you get ambushed by too many guards just run. Just fight what you can a run for the next exit. Cid isnt a difficult boss battle. You need to remember to cast all your protection spells and I found Balthier armed with a gun very usefull. So if you have a good gun use it. I know they don't seem that high in strength but guns are piercing and ignore the enemies defence. So have a try with that.

Cast protective buffs on all your characters such as protect, shell, haste and have at least two characters with healing gambits set. First concentrate on the the bots that Cid has with him. Then concentrate on attacking Cid and don't forget to cast dispel on him. To avoid Cids special attack try and stand behind him this way you won't take any damage. When Cid uses his paling later in the fight if he doesn't have reflect on him use magic instead.

Were do you meet cid? Is he the boss in the castle when you sneek in near the begining of the game?!

If anything, spend a bit more time levelling around the Draklor Laboratories, when beating the Imperials becomes easier head up to where you can find Dr. Cid. Cast as many protective spells as you can ( Protectga, Shellga, Bubble, Regen, Hastega) and set Gambits on your primary healer to keep these status effects going. If you can, attempt a quickening to eliminate as many of the Rooks surrounding Cid as possible. When they have gone, focus on attacking Cid with ranged weapons so the party aren't all going to be wiped out by his Tomahawk attack. Having a beserked damage dealer can help a fair bit.
