The R3 is a button just like all the others but it's up to the game developers if they want to use it for a command in a game and it was not used at all for FFXII. Alright so the Maralith is in the invitation to herasy area of the Zertinan Caverns and the easiest way to get there is to enter from the Westersand. In the middle of the area you will find two toad enemies you need to beat those first then the Maralith will appear from the grassy area in the corner if you wait there. To get to Bagamnan you need to go through the canopy of clay area in the Zertinan Caverns it should be on you map for the caverns. The easiest way to get to that area is the enter the Zertinan Caverns from the Central Junction area of the Ogir Yensa Sandsea. Take the west exit when your in the canopy of clay to come out in the withering shores area of the Nam Yensa Sandsea where you fight Ba'gamnan. No your not bothering me at all it's no problem if you need anymore help just ask.

You might have noticed that the joysticks can still be pressed down like a normal button. Therefore, pressing the right joystick down is your R3 button. However, like gamespro said, R3 is not used in FF XII.
