Well your characters lvl is way too low you should have them above lvl 30 for the Elder Wyrm. The Elder Wyrm likes to use a lot of status effects so you should stock up on remedies and other items to heal status effects it would also help if you had accessories the protect against some of the status effects like blind, sleep, sap, oil, confuse etc and equip them on your characters not the same one though have a differant one on each character so at least one of them will be immune to one of the status effects. Have all the usual protective buffs especially Shell because this will reduce the chance of being inflicted with status effects. Larsa will be a big help in this battle for healing so keep him alive but you should also have a gambit for healing on your characters and a gambit for Esuna. It would also help if you had one chracter equiped with a ranged weapon so you can avoid Elder Wyrms sporefall attack. Deal with the two treants that are with the Elder Wyrm first then the Elder Wyrm. You can skip the Elder Wyrm if you want by taking the south exit in Golmore to get to the Feywood but the enemies there are really strong.

the_dark_prince answered:

The boss and his two treants are wak against wind! As both minions can be a nuisance take care of them immediately with aero or a quickening chain followed by the most powerfull concurrence you can acheive.
The elder wrm regularly inflicts status ailments such as blind confuse and ptrify, so be prepared to remove these effects immediately; you could always establish gambits to automatically stop these effects (eg ally:petrify=gold needle) the bosses most dangerous attack is sporefall which inflicts oil, poison, sap and confuse you should remove oil straight away with hankercheif before the monster has time to launch the fireball attack. Haste will cure slow, and esuna will take care of every thing else. Meanwhile has a steady onsault of physical attackers to wear down the monster. You can also inflict silence

Larsa heals everyone so keep him healthy

Hope I helped

Also the players should be at 25

cheating-is-good answered:

No wonder you keep losing, you should be above 30, or 35. When you get to that level then attempt to fight him.

7onewingedangel7 answered:

Woah. First of all, your people's level are WAY too low. They should all be at least level 30 or higher. And carry alot of Remedies/Antidotes/etc. He uses an attack called Sporefall, which inflicts damage AND gives you just about every bad status affect. You should Protect/Shell/Haste everyone as often as you can and kill the Treeants first. Then focus your attention on the Elder Wyrm. By this time, killing him will take long, but as long as you have many items, it won't be much of a problem.

Hope I helped,

awgh i cant kill it !!!!! its so hard, were can i find a staff of magi or the rod of faith, dan and the strongest gun in the game for balthier

Guest answered:

you guys keep saying hes way to low but i went through the game attacking everything on the way and doing some hunts and i was around that level when i got there with no problems so being at the level seems about normal to me i was a couple higher but in that general area

Guest answered:

Training everyone in green & white magic will help you greatly; shell, esuna, and cura are your friends for this battle. My characters were 26 and below, tackled the boss with few problems (confusion is a pain). As others have said, pay attention to status effects and the battle will be relatively easy. Hope this helps.

Guest answered:

I beat him when I was level 21/22 before, but I really wouldn't recomend that... It wasted a lot of phoenix downs.
So I guess id give the same advice as everyone else, you can probably beat him witout too much problems around 25 or 26, but make sure you put shell and protect on your characters, I start with fran (shes my black mage/archer and substitute white mage) basch (he's my tank) and penello (she's my white mage) if you arnt going to put shell/protect on all your characters at least do your white mage/healer, you're definitely going to rely heavily on her.

Guest answered:

Use regen on all the characters before the battle and go to the save crystal to regain MP, that always helps (:

Guest answered:

My characters are lvl 20-21 and the best way is to use cura and bacchus's wine, the wine use on vaan and only when needed use cura the others do it not vaan and keep larsa alive and cast protect.

Hope this helps.

Guest answered:

Ok, reading all the answers, it took me 2 trys, but I beat him and all 6 of my characters r lvl 23. 1 of the characters should have belias. Summon him at the crystal, then click the crystal to refresh you're mp. Depending on how many quickenings you have, you can use belias 2-4 times. Like everyone said, keep healing and atk'g. My 1st party all died, but my second party was able to finish him off

Too bad that doesn't work...
Guest answered:

My guys were only on level 20 and I beat him it took awhile. Had gambits set to heal when 50% down and just kept attacking. Now this took a while so you have to be patient and keep moving so you can keep building your mp. But other than that just keep using esuna when he cast spore and youll be fine. Just keep moving...
