Can Yojimbo do Zanmato without his Overdrive filled up?

For me he uses it ever turn without my overdrive full up.It all depends on your relationship value and how much money you pay him.
Yes, it can be done but, you have to have a god relationship with yojimbo that means don't let him die in battle and pay him enough so that he don't use the do attack (can't remember it's name) It also depends on a random factor.
Sometimes he can do it without his overdrive, but it mainly works on weaker fiends and not bosses. Soz /\_/\
