To get the excalibur you need to customize a sword with break damage limit using dark matters a lot of the special enemies in the battle arena drop this item. It would be best to keep trying the race to get the Caladbolg since it is Tidus's most powerful weapon and it would be a lot easier than trying to obtain 60 dark matters for the break damage limit for the excalibur.

I am sorry, but you seem to be mistaken. You cannot get the Excalibur blade by beating the chocobo racer with a time of 0.0 seconds. Instead, you will get the legendary weapon Caladbolg, Tidus's best weapon. I am not exactly sure how you get the Excalibur, but you do have to break the 9,999 damage limit. Something that can only be done with the special item called Dark matter. Anyway, I suggest you keep trying, the best way to get rid of all your time, is to go threw every balloon in the chocobo race. Hope this helps.

Yu don't get the excalibar from beating the chocobo person. You can actually get a much more powerful weapon from beating her. Once you beat her, go straight to to back of the calm lands and there will be a small path which you can go down, where you will see a seal. You can break the seal with the celestial mirror. This is where you get the caladborg. If you get a time of 0.0 you get the sun sigil, which is the item you need to power up the caladborg

You don't even have to beat the chocobo lady to get the caldohog. Racing her causes a distraction from the guard. After you're done racing her(win/loss) the guard is standing near you and chocobo lady. Go to the north east where the guard was and get you're weapon. Of course you need the celestial mirror but yhat is a totally different story.

Excalibur is better because you can make it with Break damage limit, Evade and Counter, Triple Overdrive, and one MP cost....with 255 strength, you'll hit for 99,999 everytime. The Calabolg also reduces it's strength when your HP go down...Excalibur does not...
