Create some players before you start a career put them on the same team
A team that you can pick from the start
Then just sell them in the tranfer market piriod.
To get lots of points to buy good players just simply keep winning matches. The best way of doing this is to win cups and achieve goals like; beat a five star team. If you do these things you will have loads of points and eventually a good team.

Winning matches is of course the best way to earn points / money. The more important a match the more points / money you get. Clean sheets earn more extra as well. When you first get a team realize that you don't need all the bench players either. Sell off a couple scrubs that you will never play anyway.
