What does the ring of growth do?

What exactly does this ring do? It was found in a chest in the jungle after I lit some torches to create some bridges. It says it constantly helps the wearer to grow but I was wondering if anyone knew the mechanic behind it?

I figured it out! It gives you get like 1 EXP a second passively.

Thanks to the previous person I got more info on the Ring of Growth. It doesn't necessarily give you experience per second but rather gives you experience as you travel. You will gain no experience if you just sit still but will immediately start gaining experience the moment you start moving.
