Does anyone know how to enter the cheats for this game?

I have the cheats in an official psm magazine but they don't work and the cheats on here say exactly the same!
I have done what they say but nothing happens.
is there a sound confirmation or do you just type it and hope that it has worked?

Try holding down the R1,R2.L1,L2 buttons and enter the cheats
If that doesnt work I don't know, I tried to enter the cheats myself but failed.

Sorry I can't be of any more help.
