There are two places for good levelling

First: There is a forest north west of the royal hunting grounds on the western contienent - it is crawling with metal slimes - I have found the best way to beat them is with Yangus's Hatchet man/upgraded version of Hatchet man - you can get 4 - 8 at once every few battles

Second: This way requires the godbird's soulstone - Go to the raised bit on Neos at NIGHT to find liquid metal slimes - same as metal slimes but more frequent again Yangus is a good choice for this

Hope this helps

Once you get the ship go to the south-west corner of the map. There is a island there. You will find many liquid metal slimes there.
When you get the godbirds soulstone fly to the raised area near rydons tower. Here are many king metal slimes.
