Haha, you mean that Octopus boss around the port town? Oh man, I had forggoten about him. You refreshed my memory, . Anyway, in order to defeat Khalamari, I had to level up my characters to level Sixteen each. Not only was this a strong level to fight the boss on, but it also just made the characters stronger for whatever was ahead. While you are fighting the Giant Octopus, I suggest that you use one character to heal or defend, while you use the other character to charge up his tension. When his tension is up to level One Hundred, attack and you will unleash an enormous amount of damage on him. Why, you might even kill him. Be sure to buy herbs.
Hope this helps.
Well actually what C-I-G said was wrong. I too have'nt played for some time but I think you can't go to lv 100 tension unless your character is lv 20 or above. This fight is easy even lv 12-15 characters can beat him. What I did was use the spear which is found in the shop there with lv 20-50 tension Hero. What you should do is make one person psy up and let the other heal(with herbs don't waste the tension.) Then let the first heal while the other psyches himself up.
Get your levels up to 13 or higher and you can beat him. Have one person heal everyone ells while Yangus is tesioning up. Keep doing this and you should beat him soon. I beat him at lvl 10 with sheer luck.
I did this at level 10. if your level 13 it requires no strategy tho
Lol, I literally just did this with both Yangus and the Hero at level 10 each.
Psyched up Yangus to 50 while the Hero healed on each turn, Don't miss a turn healing or Psyching up otherwise you'll blow it
Once Yangus hit's 50 tension, I used Helm-Splitter (An Axe skill) to deal roughly 140-160 damage (Average 143)
I did a rinse and repeat technique, I had Yangus as the first party member to take most of the single hits (Which makes the whole game much easier might I add), With a leather cap and leather kilt, scale shield and stone axe
The Hero has scale armour, Scale shield, Lance, Leather hat and Slime ear-rings.
Yangus' skill points are balanced between Humanity and Axes whereas the Heros is balanced between Boomerangs and Courage (Boomerangs is my main choice of weapon at this point in time)
I've used every seed collected at this point on the hero too (Roughly 2 seeds of strength, 2 seeds of life, 1 seed of defense and 1 seed of wisdom)
I hope this information proves useful
