No, I don't think so... No.

Luigiguy22 answered:

No, from what I've seen beams always beat balls of energy, except when the balls hit you before you get out the beam.

gamefreak08 answered:

After I posted this I tried out a bunch of different attack combinations, and to answer my own question no you can't have a ball versus beam struggle. You can however have a ball to ball battle, i.e. Coolers supernova versus Broly's omega blaster, also some beam combinations don't work i.e coolers death beam versus gokus kamehameha they just cancel out.

Webby Jr answered:

No you can't because the moves need to be similar to engage in a "struggle" as you call blast battle. The kamehameha wave is a beam type blast so when you and your opponent fire beam type blasts at each other and the blasts meet you will engage in a "Beam Struggle". Eg. Goku's Kamehameha & Vegeta's Final Flash will result in a "Beam Struggle". The same applies for the "Ball Struggle" except the move needs to be a ball type blast or a projectile type blast. Eg. Trunks' Burning Attack & Bojack's Full Power Energy Ball will result in a "Ball Struggle". I'm sure you know that when in a "struggle" situation, you need to rotate both analog sticks as fast as you can in order to win the "struggle" and deal a little more damage than normal. By pressing L2 during the "struggle", you will increase your chances of winning the "struggle" but you will be tired and vulnerable after so only use it if you feel the need to.

CaoRen answered:

No, you cannot do that. Here are the struggle combos you can do:

Wave vs wave (kamehameha vs galick gun and the sorts)

Beam vs beam (death beam, special beam cannon, and the sorts)

Ball vs ball (omega blaster, supernova, and the sorts)

Rush vs rush (high speed rush, high power rush, and the sorts)

Hope this helps, dude.

dezz rules answered:

No because vegeta's is a ball attack a goku's is a wave but here's some that will

waves Goku kamehameha+vegeta galick gun

ball attacks Trunks finish buster+cooler supernova

beams frieza death beam+piccolo special beam cannon

rush attacks High power rush+high speed rush
