I think you mean Dante, and he is the person you use first. You might've gotten confused with his brother, Vergil.

Lmao, I am sorry to say that there is no character named Vante in any Devil May Cry game. There are two half demon brothers in Devil May cry, and their names are Dante and Vergil. I think someone had an overactive imagination and fused them together :P I do not know where you heard that from, but know that there is no character named Dante.

Vante does exist, these people are all mistaken. It's the name given by DMC3's more frequent players to the red-coated version of Vergil you face when playing as Vergil.

Vante is a fan dubbed name for when players pick Vergil's story mode and when about to fight Vergil they don't face Dante instead a red colored Vergil to represent Dante. Because of that fans dubbed the name vante to him and it stuck ever since. His vante colors appeared again as his EX suit for devil may cry 4 special edition.
