The best style you can use is best determined by yourself. You should use Trickster style until you think you're better with either your melee weapons or your guns. Use Swordmaster style if you find yourself using your melee weapons more often and Gunslinger style if you prefer to fill your enemies with lead. If you keep getting beaten up, try the Royalguard style. Lastly, if you can use the Dash ability to keep yourself unscathed, then you might want to keep playing as a Trickster.
Also, Cerberus will become more useful to you as you get more abilities for it and practice with it.
