There are two Sword upgrades in the game which will improve the strength of the attacks. These can be found at the following levels.
Formosa - Temple Of Terror:
In the second area of the level look on the left side of the narrow hallway where the enemies burst through the paper walls for the treasure chest.
Rum Island - Sand, Sky, Rum and Gold:
When the man-eating plants appear go to the right of the area where the plants first attack and find a small alcove blocked by vines which if you cut away will reveal the treasure chest.

To defeat them, you should use Jack's grog bombs. I recommend that you do not use his combined attack, but throw them separately so that way you can kill the brothers over time, poisoning them. Run, throw, and do that until all of them are dead. You may need to go in for melee if you run out of bombs, but if you die, you re-spawn all of your bombs. Also, you can use Will's hatchets to chuck at the brothers. Just be careful: do NOT SWITCH TO A NEAR DEAD CHARACTER WHEN THE OTHER HAS FULL LIFE! I have done this and with one life left, when you have to blow up the fort with cannons, you can be killed by musket fire or cannon fire. |

She's a head on boss battle, but extremely easy. Just slapping her around wil defeat her quickly. And axes? Do it right, and she'll be gone within 8 seconds. |

The last level can be really easy, all you have to do is let the other two characters defeat them for you |

You have to throw jacks bombs at him when hes on the cannon and when hes trying to get the fire of you run at hem and keep attacking him untill the fire runs out and he goes to a different cannon. Keep doing that and then he wont go on anymore cannons thats when he just starts to come after you. Keep hitting him with square and after a will he will jump on the wall throw the exsplosive crates at him when hes on the wall and he will fall of and then he will do it again then you keep doing it untill he dies. |
