Fail and all enemies get free potshots! ____________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ TIPS & TRICKS [TPTR] ____________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Here is a few tips and tricks I've picked up in my travels. Got any good ones of your own? Send 'em in and I may put 'em here with yer name in lights! :P • Abuse the Tactics screen -- it's there for a reason. The rule of thumb is to always spread out the 5-person party to avoid zone attacks, putting the strongest DEF characters towards the front (Leo & Hiro). Not only is it just good battle sense to do this, but it makes boss AI more manageable as most single-target attacks will go towards the nearest enemy repeatedly (usually NW-corner person). • Cash isn't always easy to come by, especially for those not inclined to level-grinding. Fess up: it's boring and a chore. For those like me, the best ways to make money are selling old equipment (but not accessories & crests) that's become obsolete, and Life Jewels in particular. Why them? They sell for 3000 silver and are pretty useless in the long run, healing only 200 to everyone. Whereas Silver Lights are superlative and worth pocketing, those jewels are better off being sold ASAP for some equipment. • Horde Silver Lights. These items which sell for 5000 silver are infinitely useful, especially against the storyline's final boss. Silver Lights are alright, but these are actually worth keeping around. A normal stockpiler will get about 15 if none are used, but keeping 8+ is always a good idea. • White Dragon Protect is a boss-breaker. It protects all allies from one attack of any kind, and once the attack pattern's signs are known, it's almost invaluable. The 50 MP tag can be taken care of in a couple ways. One, put the thing on Lemina who has the best MP growth of anyone; Two, buy lots of Star Lights and spam them. A player will probably end up doing a combination, honestly, but keep all options open. • Pay attention to the way the enemy is highlighted before an attack. If it's red, the attack will suck; if it's green, it's super effective. Yellow just means the attack is neutral and does normal damage. This should be obvious in terms of damage-dealing, but remember that if an enemy is 'red' against a status-inflicting attack, it probably isn't susceptible so don't waste your time. • Steal from enemies! Lemina's Thieves' Staff is not only useful on principle but also a way to get free items for safe keeping and, in the case of some duplicate Shiro/Chiro crests, quick cash. It's in the top floor of Vane's Trial Cave, so don't forget to swipe it after Lemina gives permission! I should also mention that in the final dungeon leaving is impossible, and her stealing can be a good way to collect resources (Star Lights!) • Erpy writes: "Some dungeons (Destiny at Dalton, Taben's Peak, Azado Tower, Serak Palace and Red Dragon Cave) allow you to use a statue without the monsters respawning. You can abuse that fact by using your most powerful attacks to wipe out everything and then restore your mp at the statue." • Erpy writes: "Certain enemies use MP for their specials (like the crystals in Zophar's Keep, the Crazy Crabs in Zophar's Keep, the Magicians in the Black Dragon Cave). If you see such an enemy preparing to use their special skill (like the crazy crab's hit-all skill), have Lemina hit them with magic stealer. She'll replenish her mp while effectively muting the enemy and also causing them to waste their turn trying to use a skill they have no mp for." ____________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ WALKTHROUGH NOTATION [WKNT] ____________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Most things are self-explanitory, but I'll go over boss formats for a sec: ______________________ ____________ ____________ ______________ | Boss Name | HP Value | EXP Value | Cash Gained | |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| | • Attack's purpose (Type) | How to tell when it's used | |________________________________________________|____________________________| _________________________ ___________________________________________________/ III. Move Hiro to the other side and slide his loot from the ruins to the socket, which will open the way forward. This is a huge two-part dungeon, composed of a labyrinthine lower section and the Blue Spire the second, more straightforward stretch. There are only two rooms to the lower areas, but they take a little work to get through. Four buttons (marked "B" on map) must be pressed down to get to the exit, where an [Angel's Tear] is lying by an abyss. On the 2F, there are 4 antechambers where buttons must be pressed to power up the warp at the end. A [Star Light] is near there. Through the room marked 'BOSS' -- which isn't used until the trip back -- enter the Blue Spire Garden that contains an Althena statue and the start of the real ascent. _______________________ Collect the [Angel's Tear] at the ground-floor room | NEW? ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| and pick either access door to the floor directly | • Bomb Angel | above. Along the |_______________________| way are a few treasures: [Herb], [Healing Nut], ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ [72S] and a [Star Light]. Running from the enemies isn't a bad strategy, as all treasures can be collected on the way down -- it will be 10x easier, guaranteed. Also, the "A" marks on the Blue Spire rooms is a stairway that couldn't be drawn correctly on the map. Oops! At the penultimate (7F) area when Gwyn splits up momentarily, inspect the northern warp tile to meet Lucia. She'll join the party but cannot have her actions chosen by the player. It doesn't matter, since she's so overpowered that any enemies will be OHKO'd if they dare stand in her way. Return back down. In the Blue Spire Garden, heal up and head into the room with the Guardian statue. This time, it won't sit by and watch; it breaks free and the game's first boss fight begins! ______________________ ____________ ____________ ______________ | BOSS: Guardian | HP: ~550 | EXP: 121 | SILVER: 100 | |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| | • Raises ATK/DEF (Self) | Flashes white | | • Physical damage (Zone) | Twirls ball-and-chain | | • Physical damage (One) | Holds ball-and-chain | | • Physical damage (One) | Holding b-and-c, rocking | |________________________________________________|____________________________| This boss can wreck the Hiro and Gwyn's pretty easily, so make sure the two are far apart, which will avoid the zone-area attack it has. Gwyn should use Fractured Shield a few times to counteract the stat-buffing the boss does, while Hiro spams Poe Sword for better effect. Hiro will definitely be faster than the boss, but Gwyn undoubtedly won't; use our speedy ally to cure the old man when the time calls for it. Lucia will hang around the battlefield, but won't participate, and the boss usually leaves her alone anyway -- do not waste any Angel's Tears on her. Make sure that the (usual) target of the zone attack guards that turn to avoid souped-up damage! Otherwise, it's just debuffing and using Poe Sword. Even if someone is KO'd, they'll get the experience afterwards, remember. [Gwyn's Shattered Sword ability works great here as well, but he usually only gets to Lv11 unless the player spends more time leveling.] After defeating it, heal at Althena's statue and exit out of the labyrinth below the tower to see some scenes with Leo. Beat a trail back to Gwyn's pad and keep talking to Lucia until gramps suggests visiting the priest in Larpa called Ronfar. He'll put the boat out on the world map, so board and take it west to the other dock (only place to disembark). Ronfar should put Saint Litany on all controllable characters, and heal when necessary. At the start, it only uses its flytrap poisoning attack. The character it chooses to target (usually nearest) will continuously be targeted then on, meaning s/he can guard and get by with little agony. I recommend putting Lucia near it so that Saint Litany can be spread around a lot easier on the characters who are more useful. After enough damage, its midriff shell blows open and gives access to the attack-all technique (~40dmg) -- anticipate it with a Calm Litany. Luckily, its DEF is slightly reduced in this second formation, and it will alternate its two attacks until the 3rd form appears: a topless flower woman! This'll unlock a powerful single-target attack for 70+ damage. It'll alternate from the 1st and 3rd attacks and do a seed-spitting attack-all every 6th turn about. The main target from all these is the PERSON CLOSEST TO PLANTELLA, so as long as healing is anticipated on that person, Saint Litany will just heal the rest naturally. I got by with a Lv 15-16 party and only used one Angel's Tear, but that was after most people died -- cuttin' it pretty close, I should say! --- Once everyone's safe and sound, talk with Jean -- she'll join the party for the rest of the game! The first is the easy part. It alternates between a drumbeat attack on a single-target, and a low-damage sleep-inducing attack -- the person it targets will receive the attacks until s/he is defeated. For this reason, it's recommended Lucia is put in its path as a "meat shield" for these stupid attacks, letting Ronfar put Saint Litany on everyone while Jean uses her lowest-MP attack (should be Sleep Step) while Hiro uses Boomerang. Yes, Boomerang -- it does identical damage for half as much MP! With Lucia being baited into her Napalm Shot counterattack, the first round may go a tad bit easier. Jean'll have to use her turns for urgent healing, however. After enough damage, its arms will break off, initiating the second stretch of the fight. It loses its drumbeat attack but retains its sleep bubble one, sadly. The rocket-boost attack does about the same damage as the drumbeat. As before, its fixation on a single target for all its attacks can easily be its undoing if it's Lucia; Ronfar should anticipate healing at this point to let Jean deal damage. I should also note it seems a bit SLOWER, so Ronfar may actually go before him if he didn't in the first form. The third form takes place after its shoes are destroyed. Its repertoire'll consist of its line-attack (for about 60dmg at best) and sleep bubbles. Jean should give Ronfar a Star Light if needed, but it's quite possible a level 19-20 party can get through with the strategic placement outlined here w/o using ANY! --- After the 'test' is completed, the hooded girl reveals herself as Lemina Ausa from Vane's Magic Guild, joining the party (at party average level). This is especially useful against Razor Wolf enemies' spinning attack-all technique, which'll take off about 40dmg to everyone. It seems simple, but there's so much sections blocked off and backtracking required that the player'll end up slightly annoyed at its unnecessary length. But, hey, that's RPGs for ya! The first area -- Zulan Mountain 3's SW corner -- is easy, as there are no treasures and the way to the "A" entrance is straightforward. Ruby will melt the ice-capped doorway, and will repeat this as time goes on. Beware: foes may lurk behind false entrances! [NOTE: These are not marked on the map.] Inside, grab the [2000s] and [Healing Nut], making way outside again. Ignore the nearest ice-over entrance and make for the other where "C" is marked on map. There will be a [Power Crest] en route to the blizzarding outdoors, and a [Water Staff] sitting in a snowbank once there. Ignore the nearest icy door and continue west and north to the stairway, where the "E" entrance is located. Thre's a short final cavern with a [Barrier Ring] to reap, before braving the winds and getting to the "END"-marked path on the map. Save at this time and mosey inside. After some scenes, Ruby and Hiro must gather the unconscious party members. Lucia will be back, also, and heals everyone completely. DO NOT SAVE HERE! There are no regular enemies to fight, and the boss'll have y'cornered, as he's just up the hill. Positioning tactics are recommended as such: Hiro - NW corner Jean - NE corner Lucia - Middle Lemina - SE corner Ronfar - SW corner Jean and Lemina can be toggled around whichever back-row corner, naturally, but that's my setup. I suppose Lucia and Ronfar could switch as well (to bait boss into a Napalm Shot counterattack), but Lucia will now use healing and supportive magic on her friends now, not just herself! Oh what a soul search will do... Anyway, fatty's up the summit. ________________________ ___________ ____________ ______________ | BOSS: Missing Link | HP: ~3000 | EXP: 2600 | SILVER: ---- | |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| | • Physical damage (One) | Beating chest with arms | | • Water damage (All) | Ears pointed, mouth agape | | • Nullifies all damage with tornado (Self) | Sucking in snowy air | |_________________________________________________|___________________________| This boss should be a piece of cake once his pattern is learned. If the above recommendation was situated as so, the single-target physical attack will be on Hiro's NW position about 99% of the time. Since he'll have the most HP at any given time, that's for the best...not to mention the others will regain HP with Saint Litany! The tornado attack it uses nullifies all damage for one round, so use that one for healing, boosting ATK, and replenishing MP with items -- it uses it instantaneously when the turn occurs, so not even Jean's fleet-footedness can do anything about it. It happens every five turns about, plus two more where it's protected, so there's ample time for recuperation. Lucia will use Napalm Shot every turn if her healing services aren't needed, which is finally some good AI going her way. Jean's lightning speed should be used to supply quick healing; otherwise, use her lowest-MP move which'll do about 60-70dmg if upgraded. Lemina should stick with Flame Shot _EVERY_ turn, unless you can't resist using Power Flame on Hiro. Speaking of which, he should be using Poe Sword every (applicable) turn. Ronfar should sling Saint Litany on everyone, while using Calm Litany when the avalanche attack is upcoming. He'll be slower than the boss at Lv22 but faster at Lv23, for reference -- pre-empt if needed. --- Once Missing Link has been purposely lost, inspect Maria and return to Zulan as the blizzard-bashin' heroes. Try to leave the mayor's house for some nice heartwarming scenes about Maria and her child...and her amnesia. Leaving the town via the SW exit is now possible. At this point, flip the "F" switch -- it lowers a bridge near the 1st item, for quick healing back in Meribia. Don't worry, the dungeon's bridges don't reset (but the enemies will). Down the stairway marked 'Exit', it's a mid-boss battle: 4 Assassins. Ronfar should anticipate healing, while Hiro spams Poe Sword and Jean attacks. Dear Lemina should use the most powerful ice-element magic. The battle can be hard, so killing one at a time is wise. Chances are they'll be faster than Jean at Lv25, so try to poison them for better effect (+55 damage!). He joins at Lv35 always with Dyne's Sword and Platinum Shield/Helm/Armor. --- There will be Inferno Ghouls around the streets now, but Leo will be able to completely massacre them with Grizzle Blade. The allies -- probably in the mid-20s -- won't fare as well, and may die. Backtrack to the Althena statue if needed. Lots of free EXP here with Leo, so soak it up. Near Balse's house there is another scene; after, make way through the barbecue to the temple. The shops are still open somehow if y'need to stockpile. Forcefully enter the northern shrine, and the Goddess Image (upper floors) will be available for explorations. Note there isn't healing at the top, but the base floor has an Althena statue...for 100s. =/ _ ______ __ __ |A| | A| |C | N| __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ |¯¯|¯¯| | | | | | | |DC|NM| |DE|LM| |FE|LK| |F | G|J | K| |HG|JI| | _| _| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | _|_ | _|_ | | | | | ENTER | | B | | |23| ¯¯ ¯¯ ¯¯ ¯¯ ¯¯ ¯¯ |_____|_____| ¯¯ ¯¯ ¯¯|_|¯¯ |______| |B | | _______ _______ ___ ¯¯ ¯¯ |H |O|I | |P |O| 4| _|P |_ |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| | _|___1| | | |5 | ______ | 1: Silver Light | | | | | | | | ¯| |Q| |BOSS Q| | 2: Healing Ring | ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯¯¯ ¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯ | 3: Healing Crest | | 4: Healing Nut | This area is often two rooms separated by a wall, which | 5: Silver Light | will prove annoying where backtracking is concerned. |__________________| Enemies are usually easy to run away from, and I've no idea why this is. Either way, conserve MP on the ascent! Once up to the 9F, collect the [Star Light] chest and take the "I" stairway back down to the 3F, where a [Healing Crest] and [Healing Ring] are. The ring is GREAT and gives extra HP each turn, and will STACK with Saint Litany! Very nice. Back on the 9F, take the "O" stairway to the 11F where the final item, a [Silver Light] is. Exit onto the statue's outer hands, heal up and save, and approach the flame for a boss fight. The tactics are quite easy, though: Hiro and Leo use Poe sword and Flash Blade (respectively), while Ronfar uses healing magic based on the boss' tactics. At Lv27, our gamblin' priest was still slower than the boss, so healing should be anticipated. The physical wing projectile attack it uses goes off first no matter the speed, and can do about 150+ damage. If Hiro is nearest to the boss (NW corner of Tactics screen as per usual), he'll be the main person attacked. If this happens, he should have the Healing Ring for extra help. It may be a little slower going, but I recommend having Hiro defend every time the physical attack is around; Leo should never let up with Flash Blades, since he won't be attacked by anything other than the raining fire attack. Speaking of which, the fiery rain and zone-attack animations that tip the player off to what attack will be used are practically identical. Know that the raining fire attack ALWAYS follows the physical attack. --- Afterwards, use Escape Litany and return to the docked Dragonship. Hiro's duty is to escort Lucia to Althena. There are no shops in town whatsoever, and the layout is beyond simplistic -- just head to the northernmost building. For some fun, though, head to either of the four towers (except NE) to have some eavesdropping fun on the other allies' conversations. Anywho, Leo will be on the shrine's 2F and leads the trio to see Althena. A few dialogues later and Hiro will be up against a boss by himself, although he cannot win so there's no strategy 'cept to fail! He'll then be in the top of the White Tower in the NE part of Pentagulia. Leo will join the party as 'Mystere'. The downside to going up the towers in secret is that Escape Litany doesn't work, so one has to trek back downwards. All those enemies y'might have run away from are going to be keeping an eye out. Saving at every floor helps a bit. Anyway, the secret passage is behind the underground corridor's Althena statue. Inspect it from the front to open, watch some scenes, and continue down to Lucia's spot via the door in Althena's room. Leo leaves the party... again. That combination will affix a user's range at 200 which is helpful for low-range attackers like Ronfar. However, the best would be two Chiro Chests which allow the user attack initiative, i.e. they go first no matter their SPD! Getting them is slightly annoying though, as Chiro Mongrels flee battle on 1-2 turns in battle and, even if the allies flee battle, it disappears from that monster formation! Kinda annoying, which is why it's best to steal from the one on the first floor repeatedly, leave the cave, repeat. If everyone has 2 Chiro Crests, they'll always go before the enemy; there's no priority besides actual SPD within the ally ranks. ^___^ BTW, the part about Nall directing the party to find "four chests" is a leftover objective from a previous Lunar EB game; this time, there's no such thing to worry about. Continue along the path until getting to a two-tier area with ladders. Stick with the upper rim and continue south to a dead-end [Star Light] chest. From there, continue south along the upper ridge, moving east to the "A" stairway. This leads to the B2 floor, which is much simpler -- an [Endurance Ring] is in the NW area, while the "B" stairway exit is found in the southern dead-end. Easy-peasy. The B3 area blocks Hiro in initially with ice crystals, but the enemies here will throw projectiles when they don't have access to their prey -- this will shatter the obstruction. This same tactic must be taken to get the chests in the SW 'crystal' fence, but the [Chiro Crest] and [Wind Crest] are worth it. "C" exit is to the north. The next area (B4) is similar in that there is one easy place with a bunch of enemies near the [Angel Ring] chest, also behind a crystalline cage. After the first attack, there will be a teardrop symbol in the south- -east corner, denoting water moves will be powered up more than normal. This effect will stay forever unless Lemina uses Erase Magic to neutralize it; she learns that skill at Lv32. As an example, its first attack should do around 70-80 damage to everyone, but with the field effect used, it does about forty extra damage -- not good! It's possible to get through the battle without neutralizing the effect, but Ronfar'll have to work extra hard while Jean keeps his MP brimming. Hiro should use Poe Sword every turn, since that's the most damaging attack one currently has. Jean should attack (her skills suck in these cases) while the player uses her speed to item heal when needed. Ronfar should anticipate healing if he's Lv29 or below since he'll be slower than the boss (at least without aid of crests). Saint Litany will help also, but should only be cast when the boss self-buffs or uses its single-target attack. Lemina should spam Flame Shot normally, and use Dispel Magic & Erase Magic to get rid of White Fiend's power-ups. Lucia will go at her own pace, equal parts attacker and nurse. If the usual "spread out to the corners" tactic is taken, make sure Lucia is in the middle to draw its single-target attack to her. The boss' pattern is usually as follows: non-elem field-changer, stat-buff, water-damage on all, water-damage on one, water-damage on all, repeat. This means the pattern ends with two attack-alls in a row! It may be wise to have some people defend, while others item heal or anticipate such. This twofer can really ruin a good strategy, so preparation...or at least give Ronfar's SPD a boost with a crest setup and have him use Recovery Coin (learn: Lv30). Also, its sleep-inducing attack will always act first, unless the double Chiro crest setup is on a character. --- Afterwards, talk with Nall and get the [White Dragon Crest]. This will give every member of the party protection from one magic attack and, surprise surprise, it will be infinitely useful on coming bosses. From now on, having a nice supply of Star Lights to suit the huge 50 MP cost should be nice to have. DO NOT WASTE SILVER LIGHTS IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO, since those should all be saved for much later. Give Jean the White Dragon Crest since her speed'll act as its own type of protection. Nall will melt the icebergs nearby and after getting back to the Dragonship, access to the town of Horam in the SW will be possible! _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ 22) HORAM / ZEN ZONE [WK22] _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯|ITEMS ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯ | • Star Light • Protection Ring • Blue Pajamas | | • Life Jewel • Invitation • Iron Claw | | • Hawk Armlet • Gold Hairpin • Hawk Wrap | | • Rubber Boots • Blue Dragon Aura | |___________________________________________________________________________| |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| • [Star Light] is in left part of forest by entrance | 4|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|5 | • [Protection Ring] is behind item shop in alley | | | | • [Blue Pajamas] are on the 2F of the NE dojo | |__ __| | • [Life Jewel] is on the upper-left side of main dojo | |¯¯¯¯¯| |¯¯¯¯¯| | • [Herb] is on the upper-right side of main dojo | |__ __| |__3__| | | 2 | Before buying any equipment [SH12] and such, head for ||¯¯¯|¯¯¯| |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|| the Blue Dragon Fist dojo in town. Oh, and she gains an extra attack in battle. The dojo master will bestow an [Invitation] that gives access to the Zen Dojo in the south. Some [Rubber Boots] can be found in a dojo storage room, also. Now, for the upcoming tournament, only Jean, Ronfar, and Hiro will fight, so those three should have priority when it comes to updating equipment. Our martial artist will already have optimum equipment, however. Find the Zen Dojo by taking the Destiny south...quite simple and obvious, really. ZEN DOJO ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The tournament will begin here by talking with the proctor near the ring. A man here has his own item shop [SH13] -- if y'don't have any Healing Nuts, get some. There isn't a real boss fight until after winning, so I'll give a short overview of the build-up matches. Note that the player can leave the area whenever s/he wishes without suffering any penalties whatsoever. ROUND 1: There are three 'Wolf Guard' enemies to defeat. No strategy needed, really, since they do double-digit damage and one Poe Sword + Blue Dragon Palm should be able to fell 'em. Kinda boring. [819 EXP] ROUND 2: This time, three 'Flash Ninja' to defeat. Their attack can inflict poison and they attack twice each, as well as having about twice as much HP as the Wolf Guard enemies. Gang up on one and anticipate healing with Ronfar, if possible -- he IS the weakest link and may be KO'd as an easy target. [1017 EXP]. ROUND 3: Final round: 3 Shadow Assassins. They have about 1000 HP each, attack three times, and can be pretty hard. Gang up on them one at a time (try to get multiple ones with Battalion Sword, etc.) while Ronfar anticipates healing. If y'get lucky, Ronfar may not die; if he does, things can get hectic. Their attacks usually do (apx.) 100 per assault, even with their charging technique. [1689 EXP]. With the tournament victory grasped, talk with Lunn near his lame acolytes and a boss battle will begin once Jean agrees to the terms of battle. ________________________ ___________ ____________ ______________ | BOSS: Master Lunn | HP: ~3000 | EXP: 8800 | SILVER: ---- | |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| | • Physical damage (One) - about 60-70 damage | Crouching, leg extended | | • Physical damage (One) - About 100 damage | Standing, palms extended | | • Heals self for about 375 HP + DEF Up | Standing, arms at side | | • Physical damage, 2-hit (One) - about 75 total | Standing, arms folded | |_________________________________________________|___________________________| Jean will fight this battle alone, so she should have a Healing Ring and a DEF-increasing/Angel Ring accessory for good measure. Healing Nuts should be tucked away in the inventory, too, since that's the only way Jean will get anything done, really. The battle is quite simple. Lunn's attacks are all easily stomached, his pattern is easy to learn, and Jean will probably be faster than him. If she isn't, equip 2 Chiro Crests or level up a smidge. His healing and DEF-up tech is a bit annoying, but overall, it isn't a huge obstacle. Having at least one Star Light in the inventory will help, since that's all Jean'll probably need when she spams Blue Dragon Palm the entire battle. Of course, it's plausible that she doesn't need to heal her MP whatsoever (at Lv33 at least). [Erpy has written and informed me that Lunn's most powerful attack can be completely avoided by defending and moving up/down out of range, since it's a line-type attack!] --- The [Blue Dragon Aura] is obtained from the humbled Lunn, and it's now time to take the Blue Dragon Cave for all its worth.
