| What you MUST know before using this FAQ or even playing the g. | IDXA000 |
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
I've a few things to say about as well this FAQ as well the game.

First thing above all is about levelling up in Grandia. You do gain levels
by simply beating enemies, from that perspective Grandia isn't so much
diffrence. What does make Grandia diffrent is that gaining levels that way
is simply pointless. They only affect your statsa littlebit and it's hardly
significant. You can gain about 30 levels and not noticing you really getting
stronger. Grandia has seperate skills to work on. Each type of weapon has
weapon has its own skill and each of the basic elements of magic (fire, wind,
water and earth) has its own skill. Each skill has its own experience and
levels. The secret in levelling up is boosting out those skills. Not they
give you THAT much of extra statistics, but they go up faster than regular
levels and when you found the right way to boost this out. Especially since
new special moves and spells can only be learned by boosting out these
skills (with the exception of the basic spells and moves)
In this FAQ I give at all new sections, cities, dungeons and boss fights my
levels and that could look like this:
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Justin 10 | Sue 9 | Feena 11 | Gadwin 30 |
| Weapon: 16/10/12 | Weapon: 10/9 | Weapon 10/10 | Weapon 16 |
| Fire 16 | --- | Fire 20 | Fire 16 |
| Wind 10 | Wind 2 | Wind 10 | XXX |
| Water 10 | Water 3 | Water 9 | XXX |
| Earth 17 | Earth 1 | Earth 4 | Earth 17 |
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
In this case Justin's general level is 10. In the weapon I name the weapons
in the same order as the game does. In Justin's case that Sword/Mace/Axe. So
That means that Justin's sword level is 16, his mace level 10 and his Axe
lexvel 12. Well, and the magic level require no furhter explanation. If
a certain element is noted as "---", then the character doesn't have that
magic element yet. It can be you already have that skill thanks to using
a mana egg. I'll note all mana eggs I found so far and keep in mind that
Grandia has many spots that don't allow you to come back, so don't miss any
of them. I gotta note. Gadwin, Milda and Guido are not able to accept mana
eggs. Gadwin has two elements, Milda and Guido have no magic at all. Don't
even try to give them magic. Since those party members are only in you party
temporary it'll only be a waste of eggs, but since they cannot accept them.
In their case the elements will be marked as "XXX".
Sue can accept eggs, but (sorry to spoil the story), she will leave the game
when you completed the game for approx 60%. So you'll spend a lot of time
with her, but she WILL leave so don't put too much effort in her.

I always recommand to be higher than I am in levels particulary the
SKILL levels. I'll note a few level up tricks at the bottom of this FAQ.

Well, that was the important stuff.

For the rest I need to note a few things
- For looking things up the this FAQ, look in the index. Copy the IDX code
into a search window (Ctrl-F in Windows and Linux, Apple-F in MacOS X).
and you'll be taken in the right spot
- The compass shows where to go with an arrow (in most dungeons, not in
cities). The red part shows the north. When I say north I always mean the
  red part of the compass.
- Most dungeons are divided in rooms. I start every room with a new line and
and "-". When multiple things gotta be done I'll use "=" as sum up mark.
- I played the European "PAL" version of Grandia. So everything I say is
only based on that version. I take it the NTSC versions are the same, but
if things are diffrent, don't blame me. The PAL version is in English
so I use the English names. If the Japanese names are difrent, I wouldn't
  know about it.

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
After the extreme long intro (Grandia's trademark) you'll have to start to
win a wager with a boy named Gantz. From after that the adventure will be
starting to begin. Grandia has one of the best plots out there, so pick up
your controller and enjoy!

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Parm - Gantz' Wager | IDXC001 |

| Weapon 1/1/1 | Weapon 1/1 |
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
- You know what's going on. Gantz has challenged you to find some items he
hid for you. You have the "Legendary Armor" (Dirty Apron) by default.
  = Show that to Gantz.
= Go north-west. follow the river and take the stairs down close to it.
= Follow the river to the west and at the end you'll find the pot which is
    the "Warrior's Helmet".
= Go back to Gantz From there head north-east at the end north
= Follow the way north, exit north

- You'll be a the harbor. Take the pot lid that stands against one of the
building and leave this place (the cone like thing is a savespot. Use it
to recover and save the game. On disc 1 you can also get game hints from
  it).

- = Go back to Gantz and show him what you found.
= Talk to Gantz again and he'll tell you where the Spirit Sword is.
    However it's beyond your reach.
= From the bridge go straight north
= When there's a tree east of you, go west
  = First way north
  = First door west

- You'll meet Gantz mom here. Talk to her and leave the house

- = South, first way west
= After you reach a fence you'll meet Tentz at the west side of it.
    Talk to him
= Say "No way, I'll tell Gantz" to him.
= Go past him and crawl along the river shore to find the key
  = Go north
  = Past the fence east
  = 3rd way north (Tenz'll be there)
  = Enter the house

- Open the treasure chest to find the wooden sword (equip it on Justin)
  Leave the house

- = South and immediatly east
= At the end south to the bridge.
After a lot of talk you'll end up in the restaurant of Justin's mom.

- = Step into the kitchen (and and up whacked)
= After that talk to Justin's mother again.
= Say "I wasn't doing anything! Ask Sue!!"

After this you'll be at dinner. Keep talking to as well Lilly as Sue until
they both keep repeating themselves. Than put the pointer back to Justin and
click to end dinner. After that a new day arrives.

You start at Justin's bedroom. Search the room for an "First Aid-Kit" a
poison antidote and some money. Then leave your house and set off for the
museum/

From your house go south. Go east when you see the railway track.
there is a sign pointing tot he museum follow it. Enter the museum.

- Follow the corridor and exit through the purple door
- The curator is standing in front of a statue. Talk to him.
He'll give you the Spirit Stone (which Justin gave to him before the story
started. This stone is very important in the story). After the talk
examine the statue (uh oh). After that leave this room
- Exit at the way at the bottm-right to get in the curator's office
- You'll get into a chat with the Curator. Say "Actually.. I broke the statue".
After the chat, leave the office an the museum.

Now leave Parm. There are many ways to get out (as long as you don't cross
the bridge). And go to Marna Road.

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+

| Justin 2 | Sue 1 |
| Weapon 1/1/1 | Weapon 1/1 |
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
There's a savespot at the start, you should use it.
Basically all you gotta do is to follow the road. There are a lot of monsters
here. Since Grandia has a unique battle interface you might wanna try it out
here, since (as suits the first dungeon of the game) the easiest monsters of
the game can be found here, and a lot of points can be earned here in skills
since your levels are very low. It does pay off to train here.
When you exit this place at the end of the road you can proceed to the
Sult Ruins.

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Sult Ruins | IDXC004 |

| Justin 2 | Sue 2 |
| Weapon 2/1/1 | Weapon 1/1 |
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
- Talk to the soldier and he'll open the gate (if he doesn't you didn't get
the letter of introduction from the Curator of Baal museum in Parm).
Enter the camp to meet Nana, Saki and Mio. These three bitches will make
your life difficult, I warn ya. Go down to them and they'll stop you.
Show them the letter of introduction and see what these three cowardish
bitches do with it. After that they'll leave. Save your game and recover
at the save spot and enter the ruins.

- Go north and you'll meet Lieutenant Leen and Colonel Mullen, aka Herr Mullen.
Don't know why they call him "herr" (which means "sir", "gentle man" or
  "Lord" in German).
= Get off the platform you're on
  = Go north
= At the end east, and immediatly north
= You'll hear some soldiers. After their chat head north
= At the end go east
= At the end around the corner south (ignore the stairs)
= You'll hear a chat between Nana, Saki and Mio. After that continue going
    south
= Near the end is a way easy (you may hear some more soldiers on your way)
= At the end go north
= Save and recover at the savespot
  = Exit north

- = Go north
  = At the end west
  = First way north
= Crawl under the lying pillar (you'll automaticly crawl when you get close
    to it).
  = Go east
= Go up the first stairs north
= Get the Resu Potion (you'll fall down)
= You can go under the platform to the stairs
  = Go up the stairs
= Push the pillar to form a bridge
= Cross the bridge you created
= Go north to find some soldiers examining a statue
= Save and recover after they leave
= Examine the statue, it will open automaticly.
  = Exit north

- = Go north
= At the fork go north-west
= At the end is a peddestal with a switch. Press it twice
= Go though the dooor that opened

- Stand on the switch in the center and press X.
  Exit north

- Go north and the door will open. Exit north

- Go to the center of the room and you'll meet the spirit of Liete.
Liete will be your guide along your adventure and tell you to come to Alent.
Listen well to her story as she knows very much about Angelou. This
encounter with Liete is very important as this is the true start of your
adventure. After Liete disappears exit south.

- Go south, exit south

- Stand on the button and press X.
You'll meet Mullen and Leen. It makes to sense to lie to Mullen, he ain't
stupid. So answer his questions truthfully
  = "My name is.... Justin"
= "I guess I did open it, huh?"
  = "I swaw a mysterious, pretty girl!"
After that Sue will come up with a brilliant idea and it works to lock them
  up. Exit south-west

- Follow the corridor to the south-east and go south at the fork.
  Exit south

- Time to kill your first boss

After this fight this mission is over and you'll end up at the exit of the
ruins. Leave the ruins and go back to Parm.

Once there go to Justin's mom for dinner and we move on to the next day.

- After dinner with Lilly you start out in Justin's Room. Leave your house
  and head for the harbor.

- Talk to the sailor in white uniform (when he starts about throwing people
overboard in a barrel you got the right man). He'll mention an adventurer
  named Java. Leave the harbor.

- Go to the cafe. You can find it in the same area where you find the key
to the "spirit sword" before (when Tenz dropped it). Talk to the owner
(she's standing in front of the entrance), and she'll complain that one of
her employees took the key with him, so now she can't open the cafe.
  Go back to the harbor.

- Talk to a guy with a green suit and a blue cap. There are two of those if
he starts about washing dishes you got the right one. He'll give you the
key to the cafe. Leave the harbor.

- Go back to the cafe and give the key to the onwer. Now the game will make
a small time jump and you'll be at Seagull rest. at night. (You will get
a cutscene of the Garlyle Forces).

- Go back to the cafe and enter

- Talk the woman behind the bar. Talk to the guy in green clothes and blue
cap. He'll talk about Java and tell you that Java lives at the Leck mines.
After that talk to the bar owner again and she'll give you Java's wallet.
  Leave the cafe

- Go back home

- Talk to Lilly (for another wacking) and join her for dinner.

- Talk with Lilly and Sue till they only repeat themselves then stop eating

- Leave your house

- Go to the railway station south of town

- Talk to the guy next to the entrance gate and he'll give you a free ride.
Go upstairs to reach the platform

- Enter the train and you'll end up at the Leck Mines.

To the south is Java's house. Enter it and Java will enter. After a talk he'll
set you out for a task to prove yourself as an adventurer. You gotta go into
the mines and defeat the boss of the monsters there.

Before you start you can talk to Java to save the game. When you are ready
enter the mine.

The mine is hard to navigate through. Catches me every time, but I'll do the
best I can to put it in this FAQ. Don't be hard on me, ok?

- = Follow the northwall to the west
= You can crawl under the bar north (2nd way north) for extra easy combats
    and money.
= Go back under the bar south
  = Go straight south
= When you reach the southwall go east (follow the wall)
  = First way south
= Keep going south and take the first way east
= Exit east (Leck Mines (2))

- = You see two tracks, stand on the north track and follow it to the east
    and keep following it.
= When it spits take the track straight south
= When you reach the gap go west
  = Cross the bridge south
= Go east until the wall
  = Go south
  = Follow the wall west
= First possibility to do so go south
  = First way east
  = Keep going straight east
= Save at the save spot
  = Go east, exit east

- You can go around the room to get some money. As soonas you step on the
platform you gotta fight a boss.

The most logical course of action would be to remove the normal orcs

After the fight the cave wills start collapsing. Don't worry there's no time

with Java leave the Leck Mines and go back to Parm.

Upon your arrival Sue will leave the party. But that's only temporary, she'll
be back. (Guess you could already guess how stubborn she is).

Go back to the Seagull restaurant and join Lilly for dinner. (You'll meet
Gantz along the way). Keep talking to Lilly until she stops eating and go
away. That will end this dinner.

You'll end up in the restaurant (Lilly won't be there). Leave the restaurant
and head to the harbor.

Talk to the soldier next to the gate. Go through the gate and head for the
ship. When you try to enter the ship you'll discover a letter from Lilly.
Even though it says that Justin shouldn't read it, choose to read it (Oh dear
reading the letter you'll find out that Lilly foresaw that you would read it.
She foresaw a lot. I guess she DOES know her son well). After that you'll
automaticly get into the ship and leave for the New Continent.

- Go into "Steamer Passageway 1"
- Exit bottom-right
- Go to the upperright and go downstairs
- Talk to the guy next to the stairs and exit upstairs
- Go to the bottom-left and go through the doorway next to the broomstick
- You'll meet Puffy, follow him upstairs.
- You'll meet Sue who is put into a barrel. Talk to her, then talk to the
captain twice. He'll make a proposal to turn you into sailors. Accept that
proposal. You'll end up in the sailor's quarters

- Talk to the sailer next to the stairs and go to the deck
(You can earn 25 gold by cleanin a bath tub in the first class section of
the ship. Not much, but it IS money).
- Talk to the guy who's on the deck and he'll make you swabbing the deck.
You got 35 seconds to clean it. It doesn't actually matter if you make it
or not. After the sweeping go back to your quarters.
- Talk to the sailor next to the stairs and he'll let you sleep.
After the rest go back to the deck.
- Talk to the sailer again and go for another round of deckswabbing.
Once again, it doesn't matter if you make it or not.
- Go back to your quarters (on the way you'll meet a sailor with a lamp
  mentioning a great adventurer).

- Another day, go to the deck. (You'll meet somebody on the way practising
  the high-five greeting).
- No more deckswabbing. Go to the front of the deck to meet Feena.
After some introductions there'll be a new day. You start on the deck.
After a chat with Feena (just ask about all topics the game allows you to)
something strange will happen and Feena will run off to see the captain.
  Go to the bridge
- You'll overhear Feena and the Captain discussing the situation. Enter the
room and talk to Feena. Leave the bridge after the Captain and Feena left.

- You'll see the so-called ghostship.
Go to the front of the ship to witness a speech from Feena.
After she's done talk to her.
Of course Justin will offer to go with her into the ghost ship.
Feena will refuse your help. You get three things to say in order to
convice her. Just use all three in random order, after you've said all the
three things Feena will accept (still doubting you, though).
Climb the rope and go over the crane to get on the ghost ship.

The ghost ship is hard to navigate through since you hardly see a thing.
I hope you get everything right from my explanation.

- Go to the hole to the right side of the ship and you'll go down into it.
- You'll be in the Pantry. Save your game and exit west
- Your sight is blocked by two large thingamabobs. Pass them on the north
side to the west. At the end go south until Feena mentions a way down.
West is a hole in the floor. Drop into it.
- Go west and climb up the rope
- You can see a hunk of meat south-east. Go to it (Feena will save Justin from
a trap). Go through the door here.
- = Go east over the southern platform
  = Climb down the rope
= Go up the stairs to get on the strange thingamabob.
= Go east over the next and exit east
- Go up the stairs in the middle of this room
- Go to the western platform and go upstairs
- Make sure you are prepared for a hard boss and exit west
- You'll be in the captain's cabin. On the desk is a log. Read it and you'll
  be attacked.

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Preperations: When Feena can cast "Burnflame" you have small advantage
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
There are two ways to do this. Or you go straight for the mainbody, when
it runs out of HP you win the fight immediatly. This method is risky
because the tentacles will heal the main body up all the time.
The other method is to get rid of the tentacles first. This makes the
fight last longer, but the tentacles are easier to beat and once both
tentacles are gone you can go crazy with criticals making the main body
totally defenseless. Which method you choose is up to you, personally I
go for the tentacle method. Either way, you give yourself a nice
advantage by letting Feena open the fight with "Burnflame".

Please note that there's a reason why I find this fight the hardest of
the game. The reason for that this boss has strong attacks and is pretty
quick. Since it's so early in the game you don't have yet the
possibilities to set up a good defense against it yet. There are more
bosses of heavy kaliber in the game, but by the time you meet those you
do have such possibilities. You also need luck on your side, if Lady Luck
is against you then you are in big trouble.
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
After this fight you'll get your first Mana Egg. Make sure it's not in Feena's
inventory. Justin or Sue will do fine. If you didn't get the Mana Egg, then
your inventory was probably full. In that case you are in bad luck.
- Leave the room
- Go to the east door, examine it and Feena will unlock it. Exit east
- You'll be at the deck. The mission ends here.
(Feena will leave the party, but she'll be back).

Before doing anything I suggest to go to the store with your mana egg.
Use it to give the WATER ELEMENT to Justin. (I know somebody advises you to
take fire first, but doing that is a. pointless, b. dangerous. You're gonna
need healing spells very badly the next missions. You'll be able to get the
fire element soon enough as this continent is swamped with Mana Eggs).

When you go through the gate in the center of town you'll find the adventurer's
society on your right (there's some turtle-like creature beside it).
Once there talk to the receptionist until she gives you the password to
the President's Office. After that go to the president's office examine the
door and say "I'm Mr. Pakon's servant, uh-yup!". After that enter the office

Talk to the clown behind the desk (believe it or not that clown is the
president. How much downhill could the adventurer's society go). Keep talking
to him until you see the same text over and over. After that leave the
adventurer's society and the entire town.

Go to the Merril Road.

Enter Feena's house. You can recover and save here.
Examine the panties hanging here and Feena will come in.
Ask Feena about all topics the game allows you to.
After this you'll be bothered by Pakon again. Go outside watch what happens
well, let's say that Feena gets herself kidnapped. Time to set up a rescue
operation.

For this you need to get into the serwers of New Parm. Go there and the
entrance is in a small shed behind the church. Enter that shed and go
downstairs to start the rescueing operation.

This is one of the longest dungeons in the game, so make sure you're well
prepared. Fire spells are extremly handy to have here. It's the best way to
get rid of Ents. There are also some ghosts here that can only be hit by
either the Holy mace or by fire spells. Feena has them by default, and Justin
should have it now (as he'll need it also for Dragon Cut, see the Level Up
Tricks section).

- = Go straight south
= At the end go east
= As soon as you can exit south-east

- = Go east
= At the end drop off south
  = Follow the path
= At the end go up the ramp east
  = Then go north
= When you reach the two statues you can go west to save.
= Go east (between the two statues)
= Follow the way east. Watch out for the angry faces. They hurt you when you
come too close (See the Level Up Tricks for a nice trick with those).
= At the end go south
  = Around the corner east
  = Exit east => Dom Ruins (1)

- From here the Dom Ruins can form a huge maze. It's not hard to navigate
through once you played the game serveral times, but since you use my FAQ
I assume it's the first time you play it. Take good note of details if
you want to navigate easier. And last but not least. Keep track of the
eyes on the wall. When you see a closed one there's always a secret passage
  behind it.
  = Go east
  = Around the corner north
  = Around the corner east
  = Open the door east
= Exit east => Dom Ruins (Cliff)

- Upon arrival Justin will be amazed by the scenery.
After that go up the rope. Once up go back in => Dom Ruins (1)

- = Follow the corridor
= When you come in a room with a stone face on the ground use the
switch on the north and the room will act as an elevator going down
= Go into the south-west corridor and follow it
= At the T-Crossing go south
  = Next way east
= At the end go south
  = Around the corner east
  = At the opening north-east
= At the next opening east
= Exit east => Dom Ruins (Cliff)

- Try to cross the bridge and it will colapse. You'll fall to the level below.
Go south and exit west => Dom Ruins (1)

- = Save your game at the save spot (you may need to turn the camera to see it)
  = Go west
  = Around the corner south
= Use the west switch to go up (room acts as elevator)
= Go into the south-west corridor
= Follow the corridor and exit east at the end => Dom Ruins (Cliff)

- Stand on the switch and part of the bridge to the other side will move.
Go back inside => Dom Ruins (1)

- = Go back to the elevator
= Use the switch to go down
  = Go east
  = Exit east => Dom Ruins (1)

- Stand on the switch. Now you got a full bridge. Exit east => Dom Ruins (2)

- = First path north
  = Around the corner north-west
  = At the fork north-east
  = In opening go North-west
= Exit west => Dom Ruins (Cliff)

- Go down with the rope and back inside => Dom Ruins (2)

- = Go east.
= Open the north chest to acquire a Mana Egg
= Go east and follow the corridor
= At the blue area go south-west (AND IGNORE THE WEST WAY AT ALL COSTS)
= In the next blue room use the switch on the west to go down
= Save your game (You may need to turn the camera to see the savespot.
There's also a stashing place here if you need it).
  = Go through the door.
= Touch the monster to ignite a boss battle.

Preperations: I recommend you to have Mace Level 10 here. It's one of the
Requirements for MidAir Cut later, and this is a nice mark
spot to have that move. Justin should have the spell
"Tremor" before starting on this dungeon. You get three
boss battles in this area and "Tremor" from Justin and
"Burnflame" from Feena is a combination you need to win.
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Well, the object is clear. Escape from the millitairy prison and save the
boy in the process. Feena will be put in a difrent cell, but you get her back
before this mission has even really started.

- You start in a cell. Pick up the pipe. After a trick by Justin and Sue
(that trick is so old that I can't believe the guard fell for that) the
cell door is open and you're ready to go. Leave the cell and exit
  bottom-right.
- Here you see Feena in a cell, but you cannot help her yet.
  Exit bottom-right
- Exit up-right
- You'll automaticly knock-out the guard. Take the key and leave the room.
- OOPS! I suppose you'll be back in your cell.
- You'll have a chat when Leen. After she leaves (dropping the key) you can
  get out. Exit bottom-right
- Free Feena and Sue and exit bottom-right
- Exit bottom-right => Garlyle Base Barracks

- = First of all pick up the Ultra Drink. It's a handy item for the final boss.
Good to save up for that fight (you won't need it earlier).
  = Go up the barrels
= Go into the ventilation tube
= Just follow the way (all sideways are dead ends)
= Exit north at the end => Garlyle Warehouse

- = Go north and you'll witness a conversation between Mullen and Leen.
= Go around this room and get into the ventilation tube at the other side.
= Exit south => Galyle Base Barracks

- = Follow the tube and get out at the end
= Examine the panel beside the door
  = Code: Right-Right-Left-Left-Down-Up-Down-Up
= Go north, exit north downstairs => Garlyle Base Warehouse

- Use the wheel at the east to open the cage. The boy (named Rem) will go
with you (but will not count as party member).
Now leave the room, save the game and exit south => Garlyle Base Barracks

- Go south and you'll meet Saki who'll immediately attack you.

later why. Once the Privates are knocked out the rest of this battle is
peanuts.
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
After this fight Saki will drop the Master Key. You'll automaticly pick it
up. With it all doors will open.
= Go through the door south
= Take the second door east
= Behind the crates is an Army Saber. A weapon for Justin
= Go back to the corridor
  = Go west
= South the the way to take (I do recommend to search out the rest of
the area first to toy with the soldiers. They are ideal for boosting
your magic skills out). When you take the south way at last you'll meet
    Nana.

Nana is weaker than Saki, but despite of that a lot more dangerous.
In combination with her soldiers she's deadly, so we gotta get rid of

The Misty Forest is a dungeon in two parts. Now you gotta do part I. After
that you'll have Luc village and two sub-missions and then comes part II.

You can hardly see a thing here. Go north and Rem will clear the mist for you.
After that he runs off. You'll meet him later.

After that this mission can begin. I gotta warn ya, this the misty forest
is even without mist very hard to navigate through.

- = Go north
= Go west and save your game and recover.
  = Around the corner north
= At the end around the corner west
  = First way north
  = At the end west
  = First way north
  = At the end east
  = Go north
= The money bag marks a place to cross the river. Cross it.
  = Go north
= At the end go east (the way is hard to see because of a tree blocking
your sight when the camera is faced north).
  = Follow the path east
= At the end go north
  = Exit north

You'll be in Luc Village.

Then go to the village chief. He lives in the big house in the eastside of
town, over the bridge. Talk to the Chief and he'll want you to get some
jar of nectar. Leave the village on the northwest side to go to the God Of

= Pick up the jar of nectar from the statue
= Go the way back to the previous spot => God of Light Mountain (Foot)

= At the end go east
= At the end go south

Okay, now you gotta go to the chief, then go to dinner at Rem's place.
After that the Garlyle Forces will come to mess with you. All you gotta do
is to take on the mountain again (you'll get soldiers you gotta kill along
the way). After you met Leen at the peak you can go down again and leave
Luc to do the second part of the Misty Forest.

As before is the Misty Forest very hard to nevigate through.
Even if you have (like me) finished this game over 100 times.
The objective is simple. Get through the forest to reach the "End of the World"

As before the fog blocks your entire sight, but as soon as you go east Justin
will clear it with the mist clearing nut. Now the mission can begin

- = Save the game and go south and immediatly east
= When the road ends in a fork go north-east
= At the clearing go east
= And keep going east till the end (don't think it's the end too soon.
Turn the camera to make sure)
  = Go north
= As the path goes east go east
= As the path goes south go south
= At the end go east
= Keep going east and exit east => East Misty Forest (2)

- = Follow the path until you see a river
= Cross the river (you can do that over the rock in it)
= Follow the path until Feena suggest to make camp
= Hear everybody out during camp and break camp
  = Save at the savespot
= Go north and take the path east
  = First path north-east
= Keep going north until you see a lake
= The lake is an illusion, walk over it and cross the river
= Go east (still on the lake)
= Go north at the end (getting off the lake)
  = At the end east
  = First way south
= Cross the river and go east
= Exit east => East Misty Forest (3)

- = Go east till the end
  = Go south
  = Around the corner east
= At the end go north
  = Around the corner east
  = Around the corner south
  = At the end east
  = Around the corner north
= Around the corner west then north
  = Ignore the side-way east
= Go east when you cannot go furhter north
  = At the end south
= Turn east at the end
  = Save your game
= Go east and behold the End Of the World.

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
The End Of The World contains 10 levels which are rather based on logic than
on fighting. There are three camp sites during this mission.

Perhaps I don't need to tell you this, but after you completed the end of
the world you cannot go back any more. so if there's everything left to do.

One last note. You cannot turn the camera north (which I normally recommend)
I take on this dungeon faced straight east, making left north and right south.
Ok?

LEVEL 1
= Go right
= When your way is blocked to quickly left and a platform falls
= Go right until you cannot go furhter
= Go upstairs
= When you're upstairs go left (treasure on the right is trapped)
= When you come pass the alcove with the potion in it run into it or else you
will be hurt by a trap
= Once the trap did its work come back out and continue going left
= When you come past another alcove stand in it to trigger a device
= There are two elevators. Use the left one to advance to level 2

LEVEL 2
= Go left
= Step op the tile up front to go up (it'll act as an elevator)
= Once up go left
= Once upstairs the stairs will move up. Go right (up) after that happened
= Step on the platform at the end to go up
= Once up go right
= Step on the right tile and press X to advance to the next level

LEVEL 3
= Go right
= Feena will suggest to make camp. (Camp site 1)
= Hear everybody out and break camp
= There's a savespot and a stashing place here. This is a good time to
sort out your inventory and to save.
= Go right
= Press the button and step on the tile to go up
= Once up go left
= A trap might push you off. if that happens go right go up and go back left
= Press the button twice
= Go left
= The tile at the end will bring you up
= Once up go right
= Another tile at the end will bring you up
= Once up go Left
= Halfaway wait till the tile has come down
= Go left
= Use the stairts to go to level 4

LEVEL 4
= Go left until you meet some strange creature
= As soon as it moves go back right and a block will fall on it.
= Go back left after you're rid of the creature
= Go up with the tile
= Once up go right
= You'll meet another creature but it will fall apart as soon as you arrive
(watch out though, it'll shoot away its fist and that can hurt you).
= Go right
= Use the tile at the end to go up.
= Once up go left
= Examine the stone bird on the way and it'll fly away
= Step on the switch and press X (the bird will attack now but it's no real
  problem).
= Step on the left tile and press X to go to the next level

LEVEL 5
= Go right (the way will close behind you)
= When the stairs behind you change go back left
= Press the button on the wall (you'll goup)
= Go right
= Use the platform to up upright
= At the end go right (whatch out for the traphole)
= Use the tile at the end to go to the next level

LEVEL 6
This level starts with a campsite. After you break camp I suggest you save
the game and continue
= Go left step on the switch and press X
= Go upstairs
= Go left but watch out for the lights. They hurt you when you touch them
= Use the tile at the end to go up
= Once up go right
= Use the tile at the end to go to level 7

LEVEL 7
= Go right
= Use the platform to go up
= Once up go left
= Go up the stairs
= Press the button on the ground (stand on it and press X)
= Go right immediatly to avoid a trap
= Go down the stairs
= Press the button here
= The stairs will both lock you in and you got to fight 4 sonic bats and an
  Emerald Bird. No real problem.
= After that go right
= At the end just drop off right
= Go left
= Go up the stairs (if they block you, go up again and press the trapped
button again. Sometimes it likes to act up a little)
= Once up some enemies will get on you. Should give any trouble
= After the battle use the tile on the left to go to level 8

LEVEL 8
= Go left (like there's another way to go)
= Use the tile at the end to go up
= Before moving watch out, a laser will cut the road in two.
Go right but stay as close to the wall as possible
= Use the tile to go up
= The game shows you your next task. Go left. You may get hurt on the way.
= Let the last "tentacle"... thing attack you twice and a tile will lower
= Use it to go to level 9

LEVEL 9
= Go right and fight the birds guarding the switch.
= Step on the switch
= Go up the stairs to go to the final level

LEVEL 10
= Go left
= Up the stairs you get your last camp site of this dungeon (no savespot
  though).
= After the camp go to the backside of the wall and you'll discover you
  reached the top.
= After that go right and some strange device will pick you up and throw
you off the other side of the all. Sue will get seperated in the fall,
so you have to do without her for awhile, but she'll soon be back.

I divide this place into two parts.
In part 1 you only have Justin and Feena.
In part 2 you'll have Sue back, and you'll have a new party member. Gadwin.
Let's concentrate on part one first shall we.

There's a stashing place and a savespot here. Sort out your inventory, and
save your game.

Now let's get on business. This place is hard to write a FAQ on as it's
designed in a horrible way with no straight roads. I hope my explanation
works out well.

- = Go off the platform after saving and go north
= When your way north is blocked by a rock go east
= At the end go south
= When the way south is blocked by a rock go east on the north side of the
    east rock (you follow?)
  = Between the rocks north
= Try to go east and the plats will form a stairway down.
    Use that stairway
= Go east, north and east
= Exit east => Valley of the Flying Dragon (2)

- = Go south
= When you reach the river go east
= Shortly after that go north (watch out for the plant. It can hurt you)
= At the end go east
  = Around the corner south
= You'll find Sue's shoes. That means you're on the right way.
    Continue going south
= At the fork go south-west
= A plant will form a bridge. Cross it.
  = Go east
  = At the end north
= You'll meet Puffy. It's panicking. Follow Puffy and exit north-east

- You'll meet Gadwin. Justin will challenge him to a duel.

After you lost this battle you'll be at a campsite. You'll get Sue back and

After that you can enter the fish like buidling (Gadwin's house).

Go to the inn and you'll meet Guido. He may look cute but he knows a lot.
Right now you won't get much wiser from him, but he'll play a very important
role later in the game.

Take a rest and Guido will be gone and Gadwin will be there now. He'll leave
again once Feena mentions it's raining. Go to the back of the village
were Gadwin is discussing the matter with the elder. After the talk Gadwin
will go with you again. After that you can leave Dight and go to the
Mt. Typhoon.

There are two ways to kill the serpent. You can either destroy the main
body which will end the battle immediatly. You can also remove all heads
if all heads are removed the battle will also end immediatly. The
quickest method is for going for the main body. And a quick method to do
this, is what you need. The attacks of the Serpent are not that strong
but since all heads can act on their own, and since there's four of them
you have a dangerous combination here. Not to mention that "Nice Head"
does nothing but recover 100 HP on all targets each turn. It's senseless
to waste your powers on Nice Head though. I say use moves like "V-Slash"
"Flying Dragon Cut" (NOT THE NORMAL DRAGON CUT) and "Fire Whip" and
deal a lot of damage and always target the main body. That should bring
this sucker down in only seconds. Since you also get hurt easily you
must have healing spells. "Rah-Rah" Cheer can do a great deal, but is
probably not enough. If as well Justin as Feena have Alheal you have a
lot more chances. Going for a quick kill. That's the key here!
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
After the fight I do recommand to go downstairs and recover and save. After
you proceed the savespot will disappear you see. After that come back in this
room, for the next task.

Behind the throne of the Klepp King is a switch. Step on it and the pillars
in this room will move and form a stairway with at teleporter at the end.
Go up the stairway and use the teleporter => Typhoon Tower (Room of Destiny)

- Go up the stairs and read and read the tablet. After the sequence that
follows read the tablet again. It doesn't matter which mirror you pick
in both cases Feena will object. Feena will try to open the right way
but will lack confidence. Say "I believe in you, Feena" to her and she'll
continue and open the right path. Step into that mirror

- Go up the stairs and at the end the spear you had to bring to Dight is
sticking out of the wall. Pick it up. The tower will start to collapse.
Don't worry, just go down the stairs and you'll get out. And with that the
Typhoon Tower is finished. You'll end up at the peak of Mt. Typhoon and
you can start on your way back.

= Go through the south gate. You'll meet a woman who acts pretty strange
= Follow the path and Feena will inquire by some guy who'll get afraid of
her and flee. (Now that's strange).
= After that take the south-west path and enter the house at the end
  (The Chief's house)

Once inside Justin and Feena will be branded "The Brave Couple".
This seems to be the reason for a party. After that talk to the chief
again until he allows you to rest.
After that go to the Greeting Tent. There talk to the chief and say
you are ready. See what happens and you'll end up at the foot of the
volcano.

You will start this dungeon with Justin and Feena, however Sue and Gadwin will
soon come after you so you'll have a party of 4 when you reach the end.

First of all I suggest to save the game and sort out your inventory at the
stashing place. When that's done we can truely start with the mission.

- = Go north from the savespot
= When the way splits into two take the westside of the mountain to go
    north
  = At the end west
  = At the bird-view spot exit north-west => Volcano (2)

- = Go west
  = First way north
= Stand of the north side of the ball-shaped rock and push it south
  = Go south
= The rock has made a bridge. Cross it
= Go south (under the bridge)
= Follow the path southwest and you'll find Sue and Gadwin who'll join
    the party again
= Go west (south side of mountain)
  = First road north
  = Around the corner west
  = At the end north
= Keep going north, but watch out for the the steam comig out of the
    mountain. It'll hurt you.
  = At the end west
  = First way north
= Exit north => Volcano Crater

- = Go east
  = Around the corner north
= At the end go west
= Cross the wooden bridge and keep going east
= At the end go north (watch out for the lost souls)
  = At the end east
= Save at the save spot
= Go south to meet the dragon.

After this fight the volcano will be about to erupt.
Don't worry there's no timer.
  = Go north
= Go west and walk around the volcano

= Follow the road and exit south => Volcano (2)

The Volcano will erupt and the mission will end. You'll end up back in Gumbo.

Go to the village and you'll automaticly end up in the greeting tent
After the party leave the tent and you'll meet Danda (one of the villagers)
He'll suggest to go either to the pier or a small island. The pier is full
of lovers you'd better not disturb.
Go over the bridge, keep going west, and cross the other bridge. From
there you can get on the island.

There you'll have a talk with Feena. After the chat you'll be at the
dinner table. Hear everybody out (especially Gadwin). After that finish
eating and Gadwin will tell you that Danda will bring you to the Twin Towers
with his boat. Leave the inn and go to the pier and talk to Danda.
Say let's go and the Twin Towers mission will begin.

This mission can be cut into three parts.
Part one is to get inside the towers, the second part is what happens
iside the tower, and part 3 is to get out of the tower.

PART ONE
- Follow the compass needle and exit north => Twin Towers (South)

- = Go north and you'll discover that the Garlyle Forces are also here.
= After that discovery go north-west and exit north => Twin Towers (West)

- Go north-west, then north then north-east
Exit north-east => Twin Towers (North)

- From here you can encounter enemies. The Medusa Dancer. Their favorite
trick is to block you magic and since your items will NOT suffice to
keep you healing up (neither does Rah-Rah cheer which can still be used)
It's best to avoid any possible sort of battle
  = Go north-west
= At the end go south through the gate
  = Keep going south
  = Around the corner west
  = South and immediately west
= At the end go south-west
= Around the corner south-east then east
= Around the corners north, then east then south and stand on the switch
= Press X to activate the switch
  = Go east
= When you reach the wall go through the opening east
  = Around the corner south
  = Around the corner east
  = Around the corner south
  = Around the corner west
  = Around the corner south
= Go the meganic moving doorway (watch out not to get hurt)
  = Go south east
= At the very end the eastern path north
  = At the end east
  = First way north
  = Around the corner north-west
= Open the chest for a Revival Stone. The one with this stone it his or
her inventory will be revived automaticly when out of HP. Of course the
    stone if destroyed after that.
= Go north-west and around the corner west
= At the end go south
= Around the corner east and south then west
  = Around the corner north
  = Around the corner west
= Stand on the switch and press X
  = Go south
= When you reach the wall go east
  = First way south
  = Around the corner west
  = Around the corner north
  = Around the corner west
= Second way south, go past the trap device
= Follow the way east until you see two Garlyle soldiers
Tell them that you are the local guides
= Exit south => Twin Towers (Vestibule)

- Here's a savespot, recover and save here. And if you need use the stashing
place (it is handy to know that there'll be a solo part for Justin coming
up). Try to enter the building and Sue will say you gotta hide.
(Right she is, since Nana, Saki and Mio are here). After those three are
gone enter the building again. => Twin Towers (Room of Temptation)

- Examine the thing on the floor. Enter the upper-right way, and Sue will
tell you it's a dead end. Try to leave and you'll run into Leen and Mullen.
After a long talk Justin will find himself alone inside the tower and that
brings us to the second part of the Twin Towers.
(Oh yeah, no matter what you tell Mullen, he'll know that you have the
spirit stone whatever you say the outcome will always be the same).

PART TWO - The Sin Room
- = Go West
= Save a the save spot
= Go north up the stairs
  = Around the corner west
= You'll get in a square with horned toads. Fight your way through and
    go south
  = Go east
  = Up the stairs north
= On the square with toads go west
= You'll see Leen and she's in trouble. The path leads to her.
Follow it and help her. (Fight three Horned Toads)
After the fall you'll be in the next room
(Justin'll give the spirit stone to Leen. Don't worry, you'll get it back)

- After a chat Leen will go with you (but not as a party member)
Go all the way upstairs. After that go to the right and you'll see a
huge statue. After that keep going right and use the elevator to go to
the next level => Twin Towers (Hall Of Murals)

- Just fallow the path and you'll see a mural. You don't get a good view of it
now. But when you take the elevator to the next room (which you need to do
anyway), you'll see Feena and Mullen pass this same mural and this time you
get a good view. The mural depicts the fall of Angelou. This mural does
contain some information. Take good note of the strange thing that is on
the top of the mural. On disc 2 you'll discover why. It's very important.

- Go north and once again you'll meet Liete. She'll give you the Medal of
Wisdom. It has no value now, but it will be of very great importance halfaway
disc 2. After that Liete will give you the final instructions for reaching
Alent. After Liete is gone Leen will help you to get out of the tower.
And that brings us to the final part of this mission.

PART THREE
Leen will leave you know and give the Spirit Stone back to you. After that
it's time to leave the Twin Towers. Save the game and get on with it.
- = Go south from the savespot
= At the very end (when standing on the switch) go west
= Around the corner south (Feena will find you an rejoin the party)
= At the end go east
= First way south (Gadwin and Sue will appear and rejoing hte party)
= Keep going south and exit south => Twin Towers (Coast)

- = Go south
= At the sea go east
= Talk to Danda and say "Sorry, but we need to go back"

You'll be back at Gumbo. After discussing things head leave Gumbo and go
back to Dight.

You need to go to the elder's house. This can be hard to find.
It's through the gate then there's a small bridge west of the path leading
to the house.

Once inside talk with the elder and he'll tell you about the Mysterious
Vanishing Hill. And Sue will complain she's tired. This is not going right.

Leave the Elder's house and Sue will collapse. The party will carry her to
Dr. Alma's place. Sue will get a little better but not good enough to
resume the adventure. She'll request you to get the Teleport Orb which you
need for the device at the Mysterious Vanishing Hill.
So that's your next target and you'll have to do it without Sue.

Leave Dight and go to the Mysterious Vanishing Hill.

    anything there right now).
  = Follow the path
= At the end exit south => Mysterious Vanishing Hill

- = Save your game
= Step on the east switch
= Cross the bridge that has formed to the east
= At the south of this area is a chest open it to get the Silver Key.
Now some monsters will be released in the area.
= Go back to the savespot.
= Save your game and open the gate south
= Go south and fight the first boss of this place.

= At the end take the elevator south
= Step on the west switch and some stairs will rise in the west
(though you might not see it)
= Go west up the stairs and step on the switch
= Go down the stairs and go east
= Take the key and go north up with the elevator
= Go west (Stay as most south to avoid traps)
= Take the north elevator at the end
= Go north back to the savespot
= Step on the west switch
= Cross the west bridge that you just created
  = Follow the way west
= A gate may open releasing enemies. Go south from there
= Open the east gate at the end
  = Go east
= Use the elevator to go up
= The bridge east must be crossed but it'll disappear as soon as you come
close. Running is the key. You can do that with the analog controls or

Basically this fight is the same as before. It's only a bit stronger has
a bit more HP and uses Howlslash in stead of Burnflame. Basically the
same strategy applies here, but you need to heal a bit more so stay alert

= Step on the three switches then step on the south switch.
Keep doing that till a stairway is formed.
  = Go up the stairway
= Up here you'll find the orb. Time to go back to Sue.
  = Go down the stairs
= Go south and go down with the elevator
= Go west and cross the vanishing bridge (if you don't make it you can use
    the gate to come out).
  = Go north
= Take the west elevator down at the end
  = Go west
  = Around the corner north
  = First way east
= Cross the bridge east to get back to the savespot
= Save the game and exit north = Mysterious Vanishing Shrine

- Follow the road and exit north at the end.

Go to Dight and visit Dr. Alma's place. Once there Sue will announce that
she'll stop adventuring. Justin will suggest to send Sue back with the
Teleportation Orb. Sue will rejoin the party (only so that you can bring
her back home) and Gadwin will leave the party. That's permanent.
(For those who read my Stashing Place note. Gadwin's contribution to that
comes later after you completed the mission that comes after this one).
Leave Dight and go back to the Mysterious Vanishing Hill.

Enter the cave at the start of this dungeon. Use the device and Sue will
be sent back home. Now Sue is officially no longer a playable character.
In other words her leave is permanent. Sue's entire inventory including her
equipment will be put in the stashing place. Not only that. Her skill
experience is dropped in the stashing place as well, so you can transfer it
to the party members you've left. I only had water skills with Sue which I
transferred to Feena. As for weapon skills, I only used Sue for shooting and
those skills can be transferred to neither Justin or Feena. At the start of
disc 2 (which is soon to come) Rapp will join, and I recommend to transfer
it to him, so wait awhile, ok?

After Sue is gone, go back to Dight and talk to Gadwin at the inn.
He wants you to come to his house, so that's what we'll do.

This time you gotta win. If you lose the game won't be over. Gadwin will
complain that you can do better and you can talk to him to try it again
Gadwin's attacks are not strong and can be easily healed. Be prepared

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
After this fight Gadwin will teach you Dragon Cut. You may not be able to
use it right away though. You must have Sword level 16, Fire level 6 and
Earth level 7 to be able to use Dragon Cut. I suggest to go for that if you
haven't done that already. If you have those levels you may not be able to
use Dragon Cut right away, but you'll learn it as soon as Justin increases
one skill level (or when you cast healing spells in the menu).

After that go back to Dight. If you don't know the way read section IDXC00R

In Dight the Gadwin's boat is at the shore. Board it (after telling Dr. Alma
you're ready) and we're off for a little sea journey.
(Of course you realize that once the journey has begun there's no way back)

Once on the journey go outside to talk with Feena. It doesn't really matter
what you say to her. After the talk you'll hit a girl and that will start
the final mission of Disc 1.

This boss is very hard. It's attacks are pretty strong and the Lure

section as it pays off. It pays off greatly.

You start Disc 2 when you docked at the beach of Virgin Forest.

If you wanna know how Rapp's bow level could be so high all of a sudden in

= At the end go east and pick up the Mana Egg
= Go all the way north-west
= Go around the stone flower and keep going north-west
= At the fork go west (there's a way, trust me)
  = Exit west => Petrified Forest (2)

- = Go north-west till you cannot go further.
= Go north around the corner north-east
= At the end go north-west
  = Keep following the path
= When you reach the end go south-west
= Follow the path and take the first way north-west
= Rapp will say the tower is behind the hill. Go up the hill.

That finishes the Petrified Forest. I went back to Cafu to use the Mana Egg
to get Rapp's last magic group filled. To me that covered all magic groups in
as well Justin, Feena as Rapp. If that is the case in your game too, then
you'll need no more Mana Eggs. I will still note them when I find one since
there are still a few more around there.
When you're done go to the Doom Tower.

enough what a Lainian is.

- = Go north
= Go east behind the fence
= And there you'll find your Lainian.
You'll meet Milda and since she thinks you're Garlyle soldiers you're in

Upon entering Cafu there's trouble. As a Lainian, Milda is not welcome in
Cafu. Therefore you may not get past the main gate. Oh, that's not really
a problem. Just go to the inn and ask for a meal.

Hear Milda out. Her husband, Darlin, is one of the three Wise Men of Laine
and according to Milda he knows stuff about Alent. After that stop eating.
Feena will leave the table. Leave the inn. There's a path behind the inn.
Go there, and Feena will be at the end. Talk to her to find out what's eating
her. (Perhaps you can already guess it). During your talk Rapp and Milda will
come and report that Cafu is under attack by the Garlyle Forces.
Damn, those guys never give up being a pain, do they?

Take the path back and some Garlyle Soldier will attack you. Not too hard
but they are pretty strong, but beating them is no problem. Go to the gate
and some more soldiers will attack. The Elder will allow you into the
village because of this emergency. Go to the north-east section of town.
There you got some more soldiers to fight. After that you'll make a shocking
discovery.

Go back to the gate. The Elder is there. Talk to him. After that go to the
inn and ask for another meal. You can hear everybody out then, stop the
dinner. The next morning leave the inn. The Elder will tell you that you are
no longer welcome in Cafu. Time to leave this city then.

What I need to say first is that Zil Desert is not just a dungeon to pass
through. It's also the gateway to two optional dungeons. "The Castle Of
Dreams" and "The Soldiers Graveyard". I recommend to leave both missions for
what they are at this moment. Cut short: IGNORE THEM! The enemies are pretty
strong there, and the experience you get there is pathetic. It does pay off
to take them on, but I recommend to do that when you are higher in level.

- = From the savespot head straight south (kill the cactus men for treasure)
= At the end exit south => South Zil Desert

- = Use the savespot if you need it.
= From the savespot head east
= If you get on a ramp up you're going the right way
  = At the end south
  = At the end west
  = First way south
  = First way west
= First way south (west exit leads to the castle of dreams, but I
recommend not to go there, before you got the party member I noted
    as ??? in the introduction).
= At the end go east
= First way south and exit south

Go through the great gate and you'll finally meet Darlin. (Don't be shocked
it's what all the males in Laine look like, so you better get used to it).

Well, he may look silly, but he *IS* a Wise Man, and he has very valuable
information about Angelou. Just ask him about all topics in random order.

After that go to Derlin's house (with the camera facing south it's the
second house to the right from Milda's house). Once there talk to Derlin.
Derlin too has important information and some very theories about the fall
of Angelou that make very much sense.

After that go to Dorlin. He lives in a small tower at the most south-west of
town. When you talk to him you'll find out he's completely lost his mind.
To restore his mind you gotta get his horn from the Abandoned Laine Village.
Leave Laine and go there.

What happened in the orinignal Laine beyond any description. It's a place
where things are completely warped up. Even space does not go it's logic way
here.
Does that make it easy to get lost?
The answer is: YEP!
But having played this game dozens of times I can say that it's not as hard
to navigate through as it seems.

The teleporter beside the savespot at the start is only the exit, so as long
as you're not done here, leave it alone. Save the game and let's get started.

This is the second Gaia Battler. If you care to know there are 4 of these
throughout the game. And the basics of all those fights are the same.
So this fight is basically the same as the one in The Tower Of Doom, it's
only a bit stronger and has more HP. The moves that deal most damage are
MidAir Cut (Justin), Zap! Whip (Feena), Doppelganger/Missile (Rapp), and
Milda Hit (Milda). A little point of trouble is the fact that its attacks
can put you to sleep. For the rest, this fight is no real problem.

give you the information you need this time. And it seems you have to visit

however will not go with you to Zil Padon. She will stay behind in Laine.
This is a permanent leave so yes, her inventory, equipment and skills are
in the stashing place. After saying your goodbyes to Milda head for Zil Padon.

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
ONE WORD OF WARNING FIRST!
THere is an error in the design of this dungeon which can make that you can
get yourself locked up forever when you make a mistake at a certain point.
Resetting your PlayStation is the only way to get out of there when that
happens. I'll note it where it is. Fortunately there no save spot there, so
that you cannot save when you trapped yourself in (thanks to that you don't
risk having to start the game all over again).

SECOND!
This dungeon can best be devided in two parts. Part one is with the entire
party. In part two Justin will be alone. But let's start on part one first
shall we?

PART ONE!
- = Save at the savespot and go straight east
= At the end is a path to the east. Use it.
  = First way north
= At the fork go east
= Follow the road and keep following it
  = Exit east => Underground Ruins (2)

- = Go east
  = Follow the path
= Let yourself fall at the trap bridge
= Go south till you can go no further
  +----- IMPORTANT ---------------------------------------------------------+
What is written in this part will prevent that you trap yourself
forcing you to reset the PlayStation
= Go west
= At the end go downstairs
= Stand on the button and press X to open a door. You don't have to go
through it, but it's your way out when you get in the trapped area.
If you left it closed you can get in trouble
= Go up the stairs west
= Go east
= Go downstairs at the bird-view spot
= Go upstairs
  +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Okay now you can get on the moving platforms. If you did not follow all
directions you described in the IMPORTANT part you'll be trapped forever
if you fall off the moving platforms. If you did everything you can get out
  and start over
= Step on the platform south
= Step on the not moving piller south
= Step on the platform west
= Step on the next platform east
= Get off south at the not moving pillar
= Go south and then west
= Get on the moving platform at get on the second one next to it when it's
    at its most south position
= When there's a platform west of it get on it
= Step on the pillar north
= Take the next platform north
= Get on the next platform west
= Get off west at the end
= Save and recover at the savespot
= Go west and exit west => Underground Ruins (1)

- = Go west
= Go south as soon as you can
= You see a path, go east from there
= Exit east => Underground ruins (Shrine 1)

- Go to the boss and fight it.

This one is not a toy. He can make your life really difficult, and I mean
REALLY difficult. He has pretty strong attacks, and his boomerang, which
can deal quite some damage and also cancel you. His normal attacks can
hit everybody in range. A few diggin's can save you, but it can cast

Please not that Rapp cannot learn Alheal or Alhealer (only Alhealer+ but
it's beyond insanity to go for that), Guido cannot use magic at all, so
you'll need Feena and Justin as your main healer. Particulary Feena,
since Justin will probably have the most powerfull attacks. The quickness
of the Boomerang will be you most lethal foe here. Waste no time, and
focus your attacks on the main body and don't wast your efforts on the Ax

Saki will always open this fight with Trinity Attack. A move in which
all three of them will combine their powers into a super attack. While
the damage is not that high, you shouldn't underestimate that move. Make
sure your heroes are as far from each other as possible, using evasion
does work well.

Casting a Diggin' next does serve well.

Now let's get on getting these girls down. The weakest is Mio, but
despite all that she's the most dangerous one. Her nerve gas balloons and
stun gun can really get the better of you, she also has Alhealer+ so that
is one reason more to get rid of her. Since she has the least of HP you
can get her out quickly and when one of them is out they can no longer
use the Trinity attack, and that is worth a lot.

After let focus your attacks on Nana. She has nasty spells and has also
her spinning yo-yo which is still as dangerous as before.

Then Saki. Even though she's the strongest she's the least dangerous one
Her attacks are still pretty strong, but Saki is easy to cancel. Once
Saki is the only one left, going crazy with Critical attacks will do a
A great deal.

What you must keep in mind is that Rapp cannot heal groups and his
healing spells are probably too weak. Guido cannot use magic at all. This
means that you probably have to rely on Justin when it comes to healing.
Not very handy since he's probably your strongest attacker. You can deal
with that, but never forget it!
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
After the fight the three girls will run away and Rapp will activate the
self-destruct sequence. Once again not to worry. There's no time limit.
= From that spot go east.
= Past the fence go north
  = First way east
  = Go up the ramp
= Follow the way and exit east => Grandeur (Passageway)

- Follow the way.
The Grandeur will break in two and you'll lose Rapp and Guido. Don't
worry they'll survive and you'll see them back after this is all over.
Get going and exit at the end => Grandeur (Secret Passageway)

- = Go east
  = Go downstairs
= Exit west => Grandeur (Bow, Outside)
= Go west exit west => Grandeur (Command Center) (Open the door first)

- Here you'll find Baal and Feena. Justin will give Baal the spirit stone
in order to release Feena. Of course you realize this is the start of
the ultimate misary and that Feena won't be released and Justin will fall
  into a traphole.
  You'll automaticly come out.
Go up the stairs and and exit => Grandeur (Bow, Outside)

- Go east, save your game and recover and
exit east => Grandeur (Secret Passageway)

- Follow the road and stand near the chair to use a
secret elevator up => Grandeur (Bridge)

- Exit south => Grandeur (Catapult)

The fight against Baal is easy. If you are very lucky you can even win it

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
You can examine Baal after the fight, but you cannot get the Spirit Stone
back from him. Just check on Feena and end this mission.

With that a secret about Feena has been revealed (but I guess you could
already guess it). Now that Feena found this out you can use three new
spells. "End Of The World", "The Tree Of Life" and "Time Gate".
However you do need the required levels in order to be able to cast them.
If you do have the levels already you may not be able to cast them right
away but you will be if you cast a healing spell in the menu (not in battle)
or gain a level in any skill.

You'll end up at the foot of Brinan Plateau. Leave it and go to Laine.

Go to Darlin (in Milda's house) and you'll discuss the current situation with
him. Darlin will tell you to visit Dorlin (the wise man who lost his mind
before). Go to Dorlin and he'll tell you how to get to Alent.

You'll see a cutscene. Look at the big thing in it. It looks the same as
the mural you saw before in the Twin Towers. That prooves something about the
fall of Angelou, doesn't it?

Anyway leave Laine through the gate at the backside of the village and you'll

This fight is in basic the same as the one in the Volcano. You can
easily deal with its attacks. Please keep note that it has Alhealer+
And that it's a good idea to cancel that whenever you can. As for
fighting, just use you strongest special moves on it.

= Exit north => Shrine of Alent (Chapel)

- Here you'll see 9 versions of Liete.
Talk to all of them and leave the one against the north door for last.
After that exit north => Shrine of Alent (Papal Hall)

- Here you'll finally meet the real Liete at last. Talk to her and she'll
explain how Angelou fell. After all the talk Liete will join the party,
and yes, she is the one I named "???". Since Liete was the most unlikely
person to join the party, I didn't want to spoil that one for you.
But from here I'll call her by name in all sections except for the
  sidequests and skill section sections.
After that leave the room => Shrine of Alent (Chapel)

Now you'll go back to the surface. You'll end up at the Savanna.
Leave the Savanna and the next stop is Luzet Mountains.

(I took on the Castle Of Dreams and the Soldier's Graveyard first).

Toy time is now over! Baal is by himself already dangerous since all
attacks of his will cause a random status change. Having the spell Halvah
can be needed in this battle. The Gaia Tentacle is even more dangerous.
and if left unattended the game could be over. There are two ways to win
this fight. When Baal is out of HP you win the battle, but if you strike
down the tentacle you win as well. Since the tentacles are most dangerous
I suggest to focus all your attacks on that since that will get stuck on
or (if you are extremely lucky) cancel it. Most likely you'll need Feena
and Liete as healers. Rapp should go crazy with Doppelganger (or Missile
if you use shooting weapons). Justin should go crazy with MidAir Cut (it
does help a lot if he has the energy ring from the Soldier's Graveyard).

Don't make the mistake of using area moves like End of the World, Dragon
Cut or Heaven & Earth Cut. Those moves cost more then needed and the
tiniest thing could go wrong and your out of SP/MP. When that happens
your chances to victory are completely zero!
(And the tiniest thing WILL go wrong!!)

Here I discovered a bug in Grandia. For some reason, Liete's picture has
disappeared from the status menu while she is still part of the party, and you
can still heal her and access her spells. Well, being a programmer myself I
know the holy rule that each computer program contains at least one bug and
it's nice to know that the guys and girls at Game Arts are not above that
rule. Liete's picture comes back once you're out of the Lyonlot.
(Don't know it it's only in the PAL version or in all versions).

- Exit this room => Lyonlot (Control Room)

- Go up the ramp and follow the way
Exit east at the end => Lyonlot (Upper Bridge)

Here you'll hear Mullen's plans (I warn ya. You ain't gonna like it)
After that you'll get on the millitary camp.
(BTW: Liete's picture is back).

- Go south, exit south => Field Base (1)

- Go south into the camp and head west
Enter the west tent => Field Base (Officer's Tent)

- Talk to Feena and leave the tent => Field Base (1)
(you could talk to the bird if you like)

- Enter the tent to the north => Field Base (TACOM Center)

- Once here you'll have a chat with Leen. After the chat leave the
  tent => Field Base (1)

- Go south and turn west at the savespot and exit west

Go to Zil Padon

= Go to the bridge
= Fight the Gaia Horns
= Go north
= Cross the north bridge
= You'll meet Leen, ignore her for now and keep going north

Now some things happen and in the end Leen will get hurt. You'll also meet
Gina. Talk to her. In this talk Feena will develop new powers. Too bad that
you won't get new moves from that. After that you'll got to fight.
You get the time to prepare and you can save at Guido's house.

After this fight something will happen making all parts of Gaia in this town
function no more. Rapp will tell you that the Mogay prepared a tent for you.
Go all the way back near the gate where you can find the tent. Once there
you'll get a cut scene of Mullen and Leen in a little argument. After that
leave the tent. There is another tent you can use to buy stuff (it's the
final shop in the game, if you got any Mana Eggs to spend, do it now).
After that leave Zil Padon and go to the Luzet Mountains.

- Head north east and exit north => Field Base (2)

- Witness the saddest moment in the entire game. (Don't worry everything
will be alright later in the game). Go back south to get scolded by both
Rapp and Liete. Exit south => Field Base (1)

- Go south and meet Nana, Saki and Mio. No longer your enemies, but still
unfriendly as ever. Go south-west and exit west (the exit is west of the
  savespot)

- Go to the Savanna Wilderness. You'll get to see Justin swallowing himself
in self-pity. After this pathetic view of our hero you'll automaticly end
  up in Zil Padon.

- Seek out Guido. He's near the bridge at the Mogay section. Keep talking to
Guido until you meet some very familiary people. After the chat the spirit
will appear and open the gate to the Spirit Sanctuary. You gotta enter it
to continue the quest, but one warning. Make sure you are ready, because
once you enter you can never go back all places you've visited before will
become unavailable (except J-Base) so be sure you are ready to get on with
it. When you are ready, then enter and face the final 3 dungeons.

- = Go north to the savespot (A way north will appear)
= Save at this spot. I gotta warn ya. This is the only savespot in this
    dungeon.
  = Go north
= When you reach the end the screen will fix itself into a position like
it always does when you're close to a boss. As a matter of fact you can
even see it, but from where you are now you cannot reach it, so don't
even try. While reaching this spot some roads appeared back at the
    savespot, so go back there.

= Take the north route (the platform acts as an elevator)
= Follow the way
= When you reach the end of the road a way north will appear a little
way back on it. Take that road.
= Follow the road
= At the end open the chest to find a force knife. The best knife in
existance and can even be used at longer distance. I suggest to equip
  it on Rapp.
= Follow the way back
= At the end go east
= Follow the way back to the elevator
= Once there go south
= Around the corner east
You're back at the savespot.
  +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+
  = Go east
  = Follow the way
= At the elevator go east over the road that just appeared
  = Follow the road
= At the elevator go east
= Follow the way and pick up the Spirit Shoes at the end. The best footwear
in the game. I gave them to Justin, but if you prefer somebody else, do
    what you like.
  = Go back
= At the elevator go north
= Follow the road (There is a stairway down in it)
= At the elevator a way south will appear. Take that way south
= Follow the road and drop off north at the end (chest contains All-Around
    Fruit)
  = Go east
= At the end take the red road and follow it till the end of it
= At the end take the green road and follow it till the end of it
= At the end take the blue road and follow it tille the end of it
= Now a complete new road appears. Take on that road
= When you reach the south platform at the very end a way west will appear
    a little bit north
= Go north and take on that way west
= When you reach the platform at the west a new road appeared a way back
Go back east and take that way (south)
  = Keep folloing the road.
= At the end go south
= You are at the platform where the boss is. Go to the south and fight it.

= After the fight go up the stairs and exit to the
next room => Spirit Sanctuary (Room of Truth)

- Justin will have to proceed alone in this part (Rapp and Liete will
come with you again once this room is finished).
Basically all you got to do is to follow the road as it appears (sometimes
the system will refuse to do it as you need to stand at a certain point on
the last platform which is always hard to spot. Every time you proceed
Justin will tell the spirit what he thinks of the situation. When you
reach the end the Spirits will appear and transform into the Spirit Sword.
(This one is for real, not that wooden thing Gantz wanted you to look for).
This the the best weapon for Justin (and only Justin can use it). I say
to equip it on him as soon as the game allows you to.

You'll be teleported out of the Sanctuary and end up at the front gate
of J-Base which only acts as the gateway to the Icarian City (Liete did state
before that J-Base was constructed upon an old Angelounian ruin).

= After this fight a way at the south opens. Take that way.
= At the end is a rope. Climb it => Gaia (2)

- Go north, Exit north => Gaia (3)

- This place makes things hard to see but you just gotta go north.
When you come in a spot that makes turn everthing around, get out of it and
the platform shrinks, go away from it until it grows and stand it it, to
turn things around again. After that keep making your way north and and
  exit north => Gaia (4)

- Go to the boss and fight it!

IS THE LAST POSSIBILITY TO DO SO!!!!!! There's also a stashing place here
you can sort out your inventory. There is one more during the grand finale

Nearly all moves of Baal's are moves that hit area's or everybody. And
every hit freezes you on the time gauge for a few seconds, and since he
has 4 targets you can predict trouble coming up. Mostly likely Liete and
Feena will have to be your main healers. Rapp and Justin can do the
attacks. It makes no sense to go for the sub-parts. That only costs time.
Time that you cannot afford under any circumstances. One target moves on
the main body is the fastest and cheapest method to do this. And fast and
cheap is what you need.

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
This fight is impossible to win if you don't know what you are doing.
So doing this right is of ultimate importance. The Core is very slow and
easy to cancel. It's spells are very very strong, but still the core
itself is not you worst problem. The two Mega Gaias are far much worse.
They can summon tentancles and control them, if you do nothing about it
a "Game Over" is inevitable. However they are easy to cancel and once
are both removed all tentacles will disappear leaving you with the core
only. That is a very interesting situation since the core is so slow. And
The Mega Gaia's do not have that much HP either. So focus your strongest
attacks on those ones first. One-target moves work best here, but if
there are too many tentacles around do be able to serious do something
"Heaven & Earth Cut" can be a life saver, but it should only be used as
the ultimate last resort.

Once both Mega Gaia's have been destroyed (and thus all tentacles have
disappeared), there's no more need for strong moves since the core is
slow and easy to cancel. Special moves and spells would only be a waste
of MP and SP. Just go crazy with Criticals. It does take some time but
when you do that the Core will hardly get the chance to do something, and
you'll kill it without getting hurt anymore.

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Evil Gaia is a pushover and a pathetic excuse for a final boss. He has
a few moves that can deal quite some damage, but he seldom uses them.
Almost never. For the rest Evil Gaia sees most fit in using powerup and
power down moves. With a little luck you can win this without even
getting hurt. And when you get hurt you get a lot of time to heal it.
Just beat it in any way you see fit.

| Level up Tricks | IDXE000 |
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
As I said it's more important to boost out your skill levels than regular
levels. There reasons are easy.

     a. Skills are easier to boost out, so your statistics will go up faster
     b. Your SP and MP will NEVER go up by going up general levels. Only
        skill levels will do.
     c. You can only acquire new moves and spells by boosting up skill levels

Now here are a few tricks that makes your skill levels go up even faster

   1. Near the end of disc 1 Gadwin will teach Justin to use the "Dragon Cut"
move. Those how played other Grandia games know that this move is a
tradition in the Grandia series (though it's called "Sky Dragon Slash"
in Grandia II and Xtreme and "Dragon Slash" in Grandia III). When close
to a savespot use it like crazy on every group of enemies of 3 or
more enemies. Your weapon, fire and earth skills will go up like crazy
and Justin will get ridiculously strong. Helps a lot against very hard
      bosses to be that strong.
   2. Before recovering at a savespot, use healing spells on everybody who
needs it. It may seem pointless, but you get extra water experience for
it and that is worth something :)
   3. Spells like Diggin', Snooze, Runner and such are great for leveling up.
They deal no damage to your enemies but will boost up your skills.
   4. Never forget to transfer skills from party members who leave the party
      permanently (see stashing place section).
   5. In Dom Ruins there are "angry face" traps close to a savespot. Get hurt
by those on purpose and heal afterwards. It's a nice way to get extra
      experience on the water skills.
   6. Using Alheal in a battle where you don't need to does get you extra
EXP. This only works in battle though. AND ONLY DO THIS WHEN YOU ARE
      CLOSE TO A SAVESPOT!!!
   7. Spells that hit all enemies can get you more EXP. You get EXP per hit
so hitting 7 enemies in one spell will get you 7 times EXP. It's 7 times
a small ammount but it does count when multiplied like that.
   8. Don't try boosting skill levels in Soldier's Graveyard, Temptation Tower
and Soldier's Graveyard. The ammount you get there are pathetic.

| Stashing Places (Very Important) | IDXE002 |
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
The stashing places have a very important role in the game.

Basically it's a place to store stuff in and to pick it up elsewhere.
So in basic it's some kind of vault.

But since it has a section for itself here you can guess there's more to it
than just a vault.

One nice thing to know is that all key items can be safely put in the stashing
place. If you need it you'll automaticly use it, even when it's stashed.
So stash any key item as soon as you find it.

The most important part lies in party members who leave the party permanently.
Those are Sue, Gadwin, Milda and Guido. On the moment they leave they leave
their entire inventory (equipment included) in the stashing place. And it
doesn't end there. They also leave certain scrolls in the stashing place which
contain a third of their skill levels. Using these scrolls on a party member
transfers that skill experience to that party member. Of course only if that
party member can handle that skill.

Here are the scrolls that people leave behind. The short name, the long name
the type of experience it transfers, and the person I recommend to transfer
it to.

a complete workout of that part, that I will copy into this FAQ (I may alter
your lay-out to make it fit with the rest) and even credit you for your
trouble. This also goes for alternate boss techniques.

AND NEVER FORGET TO TELL ME WHICH FAQ OF MINE YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!
I get a lot of mails in which I must guess which FAQ it is we're talking
about, and since I'm very busy as a contributor for GameFAQs, and ocasionally
other sites, I have quite a lot of FAQs here. So it will help me a lot when
I know which FAQ/Game it is you're talking about. :)

And one last thing. Below are remarks I got a lot about my FAQs. Some are
funny, and some are just plainly too stupid for words. I don't want to be
an arrogant bastard or anything, but some of them tire me a lot.
So here are those mails with my standard replies:

  M: Fix your English
A: Some people say they hardly hear the diffrence between me and an
English speaking fellow. Others say it sucks. Well, I honestly don't
care in which category you are. English is NOT my first language. If
I spoke my own language you probably couldn't read my FAQs at all.

M: You suck in levelling up
A: I know. I'm a real RPG player. I don't waste my time hours of levelling
up. In my vision that's a sort of cheating. If I wanted to do that,
I'd buy a gameshark. That works a lot faster.
No offense to those who do believe in that.

M: HEY IDIOT! FIX YOUR FAQ!
A: Anyone who sends mail like this won't receive a reply. In fact they
will be banned from ever mailing me again. I can understand you do not
agree with my technique. There are as many as there are people. I can
also agree you detected that I made a mistake. Well, I'm human you know.
Making mistakes is part of my nature, as much as it's yours. If you
detect errors in my FAQ you can tell me about it in a civil way, and
I'll fix it if I agree with you.

M: I took on the bosses you brant HARD on much lower levels with no problem
     at all.
  A: Good for you.

M: Are you a man? A woman? How old are you? Where do you live?
A: I really got that kind of mails a lot. I don't mind that you know.
I was quite amused by such mails actually.
Well, my name is Jeroen Broks. I'm not going to give my private adres
in this FAQ or anywhere else on the internet, but you may know that
I live in the Netherlands, I am a man, and I was born in 1975. So on
the moment I started on this version of this FAQ I was 31 years old.

  M: Fsdasdadasf afsdfasd afdfsaf
A: Whatever you say I don't understand it. If you mail me, please only do
so in either English or Dutch or if you really need in German.
(Be perpared that if you speak German to me, you might get an answer in
     English, tough).
I don't speak any other language.

M: May I translate your FAQ into another language?
A: If you ask my permission, mostly no problem

M: Why is Neoseeker banned from hosting your FAQs?
A: That's something between me and Neoseeker. I don't find it necesary to
go into detail about that. I noted it in my FAQs to make sure they
will never pop up there unnoticed. So don't mail me about it
cause I won't answer. I got very good reasons for it. That's all you
     need to know.

M: You know NOTHING about this game or RPG in general?
A: That I know nothing about RPG in general is something you can't say.
I spend 80% of my free time in RPG (which is quite a lot, trust me),
and I even develop them myself for a hobby. And about this game,
trust me when I say that all games I wrote a FAQ about have been played
multiple times from start to finish, and after I completed the FAQ
the game is played over and over again and again, so I can upgrade
the FAQ if I find something new, to make sure my FAQs offer the best
you can get. All games I wrote FAQs about are games I'm very devoted
to. No exceptions. If I am not sure I know the game, I won't write a
     FAQ on it.

And so far this FAQ. I hope you have good use for it!
