Arms: A wanzer's arms holds its weapons. Arms with higher accuracy ratings are a must for wanzers using range weapons, whose accuracy can quickly degrade against distant targets. Note: Accuracy increases from the arm are a percentage of the weapon's baseaccuracy, not a flat increase. Thus, the accuracy of a machine gun installed on the arm of Kyojun Mk107 with no accuracy upgrade would NOT be 90% (80+10) but rather 88% (80*1.10). Don't forget that number will be further reduced by the evade attribute of the target. It seems that FM3 always rounds down when calculating a weapon's accuracy. Computers have a certain capacity and a certain function. For example, a computer with a function of "High Activate Decrease and Low Combo Increase" means that it will least likely activate but will most likely to do combos. Which is more important you ask? Well, obviously its both because without combos, its weak, with combos but low activation, still weak but unfortunately, there is no computer with high activation and high combo. Battle Strategy The Ten Strategies 1. Gang Up on one target at a time. 2. If you feel a little weak while fighting, it might be good to spend some time in the simulator. 3. Use range to your advantage. 4. Use elevation to your advantage. 5. Some enemies are annoying so kill these first. 6. Try not to destroy the wanzers without pilots. They are your best source of new parts and cash. 7. If you have ejected an enemy pilot and boarded his wanzer, he will run around like a chicken. 8. If one of your pilots die, dont be afraid, they will magically be resurrected. 9. If you get ejected, dont run around like a chicken, fire your pistol. 10. If your wanzer has both arms blown off, eject and do Strategy# 9. V. Battle Guide This part is your guide to the game. In this walktrough, you will find some abbreviations you might not understand. MG - Machine Gun ST - Shotgun MS - Missile RI - Rifle BT - Baton ML - Melee Game Start The game starts at Kirishma Industries when Test Pilot: Kazuki Takemura is testing a wanzer. This mission is just like a tutorial. Battle 0: Kirishma Industries ================================================================================================ Victory Conditions: Enemies Destroyed Allies: Kazuki Takemura - Shunyo Mk111 (wanzer) Enemies: Auto Pilot (Non-Combat Mode) - Unknown Wanzer Auto Pilot (Combat Mode) - Unknown Wanzer ================================================================================================ After that, save your progress. Everyone talk to you then Ryogo, another Test Pilot will ask you to come with him to the residential area to dilever some wanzers. Go with him: Emma's Story Don't go with him: Alisa's Story Emma's Story At the residential area, Ryogo will give the wanzers and the guard will ask you to go. Back at Kirishma Industries, Koike will ask you and Ryogo to deliver wanzers to Yokosuka base. At the base, an explosion happened. The defenses will get confused and attack. The guard will ask you to stop it. Battle 1: Yokosuka Base ================================================================================================ Victory Conditions: Enemies Destroyed Allies: Kazuki Takemura - Shunyo Mk111 Ryogo Kusama - Shunyo Mk111 Enemies: Auto Pilot(Combat Mode)(x4) - (12mm MG) Strategy: There four cannons that must be destroyed. As long as Ryogo and Kazuki stick together and take out one 12mm MG at a time, your first Platinum medal is in the bag. Make sure to stay out of range of other guns while attacking another. Not a tough stage, you should be able to take out one gun with each turn. ================================================================================================= Back at Kirishma Industries, Ryogo will tell you that "The boss was blah! blah! blah!". I don't care Ryogo. Anyway, Kazuki will check his mail and find out that Alisa (her stepsister) was in the base when it exploded. Oh No!! When you go to the base again, the guard won't let you in. After that video, go to the bar. Go out and it will trigger the next event. Back at the base, you will go down and investigate the explosion and get caught. Battle 2: Yokosuka Base ================================================================================================= Victory Conditions: Enemies Destroyed or Surrendered Allies: Kazuki Takemura - Zenislev Ryogo Kusama - Kyojun Mk107 Emir Klamsky or Emma - Drake M2C Enemies: JDF Wanzer Pilot (x2) - Jinyo Mk110 (Achin 51 MG) JDF Wanzer Pilot (x2) - Kasel M2 (Heavy Weight ML) Strategy: Use Emma's missile attacks while the enemy is distant. The enemy Wanzer's are of a Melee type, so keep one space between you and them as you engage in close combat. Take out the Kasel M2's first and then worry about the less freighting Jinyo MK110's. Remember that when you are positioned higher than your opponent is your hit percentage is greater. There are quit a few opportunities to get the upper hand in this level by using the various platforms. ================================================================================================= Battle 3: Yokosuka Base ================================================================================================= Victory Conditions: Enemies Destroyed or Surrendered or Allies get to lift Allies: Kazuki Takemura - Zenislev Ryogo Kusama - Kyojun Mk107 Emir Klamsky or Emma - Drake M2C Enemies: JDF Wanzer Pilot (x2) - Jinyo Mk110 (Achin 51 MG) JDF Wanzer Pilot (x1) - Kasel M2 (Heavy Weight ML) Enemy Reinforcements: JDF Wanzer Pilot (x1) - Jinyo Mk110 (Achin 51 MG) JDF Wanzer Pilot (x1) - Kasel M2 (Heavy Weight ML) Strategy: You have two choices, kill all the enemy Wanzers or have your complete party board the elevator. With the limited mobility of Emma's current Wanzer (2 spaces per move)it makes it difficult to reach the elevator in under 7 turns. This makes her easy prey for the Kasel M2s and Jinyo Mk110s in hot pursuit who have great mobility range. If you are going to race to the elevator move Emma to her maximum mobility towards the elevator with each move and then use her missile attack on any enemy in range. Keep Kazuki and Ryogo behind her to provide cover. The only exception is the first two moves where you want Kazuki or Ryogo to open the first door by ending one of their turns in front of the red switch and then choosing 'Open.' There is no need to close the door behind you unless you get in a perdicament where it will stop a couple of Wanzers' attack. On Turn 6 an enemy Kasel M2 and a Jinyo Mk110 will come through a door in the elevator room. If you�re in a nasty fight with the other wanzers this could be dangerous. Suggestion� run for the lift or kill 'em all! ================================================================================================= Battle 4: Yokosuka Base ================================================================================================= Victory Conditions: Enemies Destroyed or Surrendered Allies: Kazuki Takemura - Zenislev Ryogo Kusama - Kyojun Mk107 Emir Klamsky or Emma - Drake M2C Enemies: JDF Wanzer Pilot (x1) - Jinyo Mk110 (Achin 51 MG) JDF Tank Pilot (x2) - Mk9 AFV (17.5mm MG) Enemy Reinforcements: JDF SPF Wanzer Pilot (x2) - Jinyo Mk110 (Achin 51 MG) Strategy: Your first objective is to take care of the Jinyo MK110 that stands between you and the two MK9 AFV's near the barricade. The Jinyo MK110 has a Achin 51 machinegun and is equipped with a Hardblow Melee weapon so attack with Emma's missiles first then bring in Kazuki with his Odin shotgun at close range. You don't usually want to put two wanzers with the same weapons together in a fight (Ryogo and the Jinyo MK110). Bring Ryogo up last in the first turn and hopefully with his attack the Jinyo MK110 will loose his gun arm. Next, target the MK9 AFV's one at a time and hopefully you will destroy them both before Turn 5 -when the two enemy Wanzer reinforcements appear. Once they do, however, use the air support grenades on them while keeping a two-space distance from them so that friendly fire doesn't hit you. You'll get this grenade support on Turn 6. Place the target in the center of the air attack spaces for maximum damage. It's be easier to destroy these guys then having the slow-walking Emma make it to the barricade for an escape. ================================================================================================= After the battle, you will be back at Kirishma Industries. Emma will teach you some unavoidable "Setup" Tutorial. After that, you will head to Yokohama but suddenly... A checkpoint at Kamariya JC. Your trailer will explode because of the Helicopter. ================================================================================================= Battle 5: Kamariya JC ================================================================================================= Victory Conditions: Enemies Destroyed or Surrendered Allies: Kazuki Takemura - Zenislev Ryogo Kusama - Kyojun Mk107 Emir Klamsky or Emma - Drake M2C Enemies: JDF SPF Chopper Pilot (x3) - Hanniger (20mm MG & Starling MS x2) Police Mobile Force - Kyokei Mk108 (Riot Baton & Riot Shield) Police Mobile Force - Kyokei Mk108 (Nissai 30 MG & Riot Shield) Strategy: There are two helicopters on the opposite side of the divided highway and one on your side. Have Emma move closer to the barrier and concentrate on attacking the two while Ryogo and Kazuki take out the helicopter on their side up on the mountain. Finally, attack the two Kyokei Mk108's. The police Wanzer closest to you in the beginning is only holding a baton, so take him out first from a safe two space radius. If you need to, the barrier between highways is destructible, just shoot it. =============================================================================================== Battle 6: Kamariya JC =============================================================================================== Victory Conditions: Enemies Destroyed or Surrendered Allies: Kazuki Takemura - Zenislev Ryogo Kusama - Kyojun Mk107 Emir Klamsky or Emma - Drake M2C Enemies: JDF SPF Wanzer Pilot - Enyo Mk109 (Canary 2 Missile) Yuji Kuroi - Enyo Mk109 (Canary 2 Missile) Police Mobile Force - Kyokei Mk108 (Nissai 30 MG & Riot Shield) JDF Tank Pilot - Mk9 AFV (17.5mm MG) Strategy: The Mk9 AFV directly in front of you in the road can easily be taken out with one player in one turn. Next, rush up the hill and take on the police Kyokei Mk108 -he's got a machinegun and a shield. Make your way across to the other side and attack the two Enyo Mk109s before they attack with the missile launchers that they are equipped with. The Enyo Mk109s do not have strong melee weapons, attack them at close range for maximum accuracy. Kazuki's Bone Buster will make short work of these missile toting whimps. =============================================================================================== Battle 7: Kamariya JC =============================================================================================== Victory Conditions: Enemies Destroyed or Surrendered Allies: Kazuki Takemura - Zenislev Ryogo Kusama - Kyojun Mk107 Emir Klamsky or Emma - Drake M2C Enemies: JDF Wanzer Pilot - Enyo Mk109 (Canary 2 MS) JDF Wanzer Pilot (x2) - Jinyo Mk110 (Achin 51 MG) JDF Tank Pilot - Mk9 AFV (17.5mm MG) Strategy: Have Emma attack the Mk9 AFV on her way to get the Enyo Mk109 into range for a similar missile attack. If she trys to shoot the Jinyo Mk110 on her first turn, she usually misses. Have Kazuki and Ryogo rush the Jinyo Mk110 and the Mk9 AFV to finish them off. Put Ryogo on the Mk9 AFV and Kazuki on the Jinyo Mk110, it's a better match up. After Emma is through with the missile launching Mk109, have her attack the enemy Wanzer on the other side of the tollbooth. Have one of the boys shoot the barricade and enter to assist Emma in her attack. =============================================================================================== VI. Characters Main Characters: Kazuki Takemura --------------- Wanzer: Zenislev (Gray) Starting Ace Rank: 0 Combat Specialities: Melee & Shotgun Kazuki is the main character of the game. He is stubborn, has a small sense of humor, he is serious (and I mean very serious) and easily irritated. He always wants to be the leader of the group (which he is). Kazuki's wanzer, the Zenislev, has incredible HP and great mobility which allows him to get close and kill, kill, kill. Ryogo Kusama ------------ Wanzer: Kyojun Mk107 (Sand Yellow) Starting Ace Rank: 0 Combat Speciality: Machine Gun Kazkuki's best friend Ryogo, is always crushing on the newest female member of the group. He is exactly the opposite of Kazuki. He has a large sense of humor and not very serious. When faced with a tough opponent, this non-serious person becomes a very good machine gunner. Emma's Storyline Characters Emir "Emma" Klamsky ------------------- Wanzer: Drake M2C (Light Blue) Starting Ace Rank: 1 Combat Speciality: Missile Emma is a very useful ally. She always has a plan, but when face to face with a melee oriented enemy, her only counter attack is the Hardblow which is of course the weakest attack so I suggest changing her wanzer's body and arms with the Zenislev, for the legs I recommend the Foura M12A. Equip her with a Melee weapon at the right hand, missile on the left shoulder. Dennis Vicarth -------------- Wanzer: Rekson M4F (Light Blue) Starting Ace Rank: 1 Combat Specialty: Rifle Dennis' deadpan humor can occasionally elicit a chuckle, but in combat he and his wanzer are somewhat underpowered. The Rekson M4F has extremely low HP, and his years of experience apparently don't translate to better skills in game terms. Yun Lai Fa (a.k.a. "Moneymaker") ---------- Wanzer: Prov PAW2 (Red) Starting Ace Rank: 2 Combat Specialty: Shotgun No RPG would be complete without the cute-but-annoying female character, and Yun fits the bill. Her Prov PAW2's DoubleShot skill can lay a serious amount of waste when properly utilized. Jose Astrada ------------ Wanzer: Pare PAW1 (Orange) Starting Ace Rank: 3 Combat Specialty: Rifle Jose is a total god when he's an enemy (class C skill in machine gun, a very useful weapon), but WTF? Once he joins you he suddenly becomes a class B gimp, and in rifle, a weapon of dubious value. What a rip. He will only join the group if you take the Alpine Detour route in the Taal Base assault. Marcus Armstrong ---------------- Wanzer: Grapple M1 (Dark Blue) Starting Ace Rank: 4 Combat Specialty: Melee (Spike) Steroid-pumping Marcus joins the party seemingly for lack of anything better to do with himself. His choice of wanzer is so not surprising. I think it would be pretty funny if for once the gung-ho/beefcake character got saddled with a "cutie" mech like, say, the Vierge from Xenogears. Painting his wanzer pink provides some consolation. Xiang Mei Li ------------ Wanzer: Getty (Black) Starting Ace Rank: 4 Combat Specialty: Machine Gun With an tragic past much like Jose's, Li lends his machine gun expertise to the party in his nifty quad-leg mech. With an Ace Rank of only 4, he'll need a little training in the simulator to catch up with everyone. He only joins if you take the Front Gate route in the Taal Base assault and miss Jose. Linny Barilar ------------- Wanzer: Foura M12A (Yellow) Starting Ace Rank: 4 Combat Specialty: Missile Screw Linny. I'm not even going to dignify him with a blurb. Alisa's Storyline Characters Aliciana "Alisa" Takemura ------------------------- Wanzer: Meledyne M1 (White) Starting Ace Rank: 1 Combat Specialty: Missile Adopted into the Takemura family at an early age, the exact origins of Kazuki's sister Alisa seem to be a mystery. She's a sweetie though, and her fragile Meledyne M1 is one-of-a-kind, so take good care of her in a fight. Hei Fong Liu ------------ Wanzer: Shangdi 1 (Urban Camo) Starting Ace Rank: 1 Combat Specialty: Rifle While he's your enemy in the Emma scenario, you'll find yourself sympathizing with Liu's cause when you fight alongside him in the Alisa missions. If you can manage to learn the Shangdi 1's Dbl Shot-II skill several times, he'll be a powerful ally when equipped with the beam weapon. Miho Shinjo ----------- Wanzer: Kyokei Mk108 (White) Starting Ace Rank: 0 Combat Specialty: Melee (Baton) & Shotgun Not just all sweetness and light, Miho's a smart cookie too. Her quick thinking will get you out of some tight spots, but junk that cop wanzer... a weapon intended for riot control is not much on a real battlefield. Pham Luis --------- Wanzer: Zeros (Pink) Starting Ace Rank: 2 Combat Specialty: Melee (Baton) It's hard to understand how everyone can put up with conceited, spoiled brat Pham, but roll up a few Shield Atk-Is from the Zeros and watch the fur fly. Plus, for the first part of the game she'll always be accompanied by Pierre. Pierre Wells ------------ Wanzer: Yongsai 3 Combat Specialty: Shotgun For the first segment of the game, whenever you bring Pham into a battle she'll be accompanied by the family butler Pierre. He's not well-equipped or a tactical genius, but the advantage in numbers is hard to pass up. Xiao Hua Lan ------------ Wanzer: Tieqi 4 (Brown) Starting Ace Rank: Combat Specialty: Flamer The only player character to specialize in the use of a flamer, Lan is a bit chilly, but a very competent soldier. The Tieqi 4's Brace-II skill can make her a defensive nightmare in combat. Mayer Edward ------------ Wanzer: Enyo Mk109 Starting Ace Rank: Combat Specialty: Missile Less tacked on than Linny, but not much, Mayer joins the party late in the game as they converge paths with her assignment for the CIU.
