FAQ Information [ch3] / ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This FAQ offers miscellaneous information about the game Digimon World 3. I've made this FAQ to answer some of the most frequently asked questions on the GameFAQs message board. I've also included information that all the other guides are missing. I hope that all your questions will be answered after reading this guide. If you have any questions that aren't answered here, feel free to ask me per e-mail. I'll include your question in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ / 4. Side-quests [ch04] / ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ======================== 4.1 Tree Boots [ch041] ======================== If you want to be able to kick trees and fight Cardmon you'll need the Tree Boots. To get them, you'll first have to go to Plug Cape. When you enter the area go down the ramp (if you have entered it from Central Park). You'll see a boy kicking a tree. Talk to him. He'll tell you everything he knows about kicking trees, but only if you bring him a Gabumon Card which he has lost in the Asuka Inn. Go to the Asuka in and down the ladder. Examine the upper (northwest) corner of the floor. You'll find a Gabumon card. Go back to Plug Cape and speak to the boy. He'll thank you for bringing back the card to him and he'll tell you that Veemon has the Tree Boots. He doesn't know where you can find Veemon, though. Go back to Asuka City and enter the Lamb Chop. Speak to the Waitress and she'll tell you that she had seen Veemon in the Wind Prairie. Let's go to the Wind Prairie, now! In front of the entrance to Kicking Forest you'll see Veemon. He says he will give the boots to you if you play hide and seek with him. You have to find him, of course. After you're done talking Veemon enters the Kicking Forest. You do so, too. After you enter the forest go south and keep pressing the X button while you're between the trees. You'll eventually find him. You'll know that you've found him when he says "Oops. You found me!" If you leave the area without finding Veemon he'll go home to eat and you'll have to speak to the Waitress in Lamb Chop to make him re-appear in the Wind Prairie. I'll explain how the Tree Boots work. You can press X while you're in front of a tree to kick it. Something that looks like a radar appears in the bottom left corner of the screen. If it's colored blue, that means Cardmon is pretty far. If it's yellow, Cardmon is near and if it's red it means Cardmon is very close to your current position. Cardmon will be on a different tree when you exit and re-enter an area, but it won't change it's location after a battle, so keep that in mind. =============================== 4.2 Fishing Mini-Game [ch042] =============================== In order to fish you'll need a fishing pole. Let's make one. Go to Shell Beach and speak to Tai Kong Wang. He'll tell you that you need three parts to make a fishing pole. The first part is a pole, or better to say a Bamboo Spear which you can by in the Asuka Armory which is held by Gargomon. The second part is a Spider Web. You get it randomly after defeating Dokugumon in Protocol Forest. It can be a pain to get the Spider Web, just keep trying and you'll get it after enough tries. The third part is the Red Snapper. Go to Divermon's Lake, down the ladder and to the dock. Talk to the Divermon and he'll give the Red Snapper to you. Go back to Tai Kong Wang and he'll make the fishing pole for you. You can now fish wherever you see water. I'll explain how it works. When you're near water you'll see a fishing icon above your character's head. Press X and a colored bar appear in bottom left corner of the screen. It has three colors: blue, green and yellow. There is an indicator on the bar which moves from left to right and back again. You stop it with X. If it stops on the blue part, then you've caught nothing. If it stops on the green part you've caught a Digimon which depends on the area you're in. If the indicator stops on the yellow part you've caught a Cardmon. List of Digimon you can fish: ----------------------------- Asuka Server | Amaterasu Server ======================================================= Central Sector: --------------- Green: Coelamon | Pink Ebidramon Yellow: Cardmon (one card) | Cardmon (two cards) East Sector: ------------ Green: '''''' West Wire Forest - Coelamon | Ebidramon Divermon's Lake - Divermon | Divermon Kicking Forest - Seadramon | Ebidramon Yellow: Cardmon (one card) | Cardmon (two cards) South Sector: ------------- Green: '''''' South Cape - Shellmon | Pink Ebidramon Ether Jungle - Seadramon | Pink Ebidramon Everywhere else - Seadramon | Ebidramon Yellow: Cardmon (one card) | Cardmon (four cards) West Sector: ------------ Green: Dolphmon | Pink Ebidramon Yellow: Cardmon (two cards) | Black Cardmon North Sector: ------------- Green: Blue MegaSeadramon | Black Scorpiomon Yellow: Cardmon (four cards)| Black Cardmon ======================================================= ========================== 4.3 Etemon's Mic [ch043] ========================== When you get to the fourth Etemon on AM Duel Island he'll tell you that he won't battle you because he's lost his mic. It's on you to find it. Etemon says a BK Agumon stole his mic. Go to AS Jungle Grave and enter the hole in front of the first gate, the gate before the arch (if you entered the area from Bulk Bridge). In the Circuit Board, go north three times to find the BK Agumon. Defeat him in a card battle and he'll tell you that he doesn't have the mic. He says his leader, BKZ Leader has the mic. Go to AM Central Park, now. Enter the hole that's closest to Panjyamon's Gym. You'll need to go south, east, northeast, east, northeast, north. Find the BKZ Leader and defeat him in a card battle. He'll give you Etemon's Mic. Now you can go for the Sun Trophy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ / 5. Other starters [ch05] / ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm sure it's hard to decide what pack to choose at the beginning of the game. Fortunately, you can change the Digimon in your team once you obtain them. I'll you how to get all eight starters. Your Digimon's combined level will play a huge role in obtainign the other starters. The combined level of your Digimon is the summary of the level of each Digimon in your party. Here's and example. You have the following Digimon: Agumon LV 16 Guilmon LV 41 Kotemon LV 19 Your Digimon's combined level would be 16+41+19=76. If your level is too high you can remove a Digimon from the team by speaking to a Piximon in the Digimon Lab to get the desired level. Once you get the quest to look for a Digimon's DDNA you can put back the Digimon into your team. It won't make a difference once you have the quest. After you beat the Digimon whose DDNA the DRI Agent has requested go back to the DRI Agent and he'll give you a new partner. Go to the Digi-Lab to switch it with one of current team members. NOTE: Each starter Digimon has a Charisma of 1. ==================== 5.1 Agumon [ch051] ==================== Agumon's DRI Agent is located in Tyranno Valley after you defeat the Seiryu Leader. Your Digimon's combined level has to be between 30 and 59 to get the quest. The DRI Agent requests to find MetalGreymon and get its DDNA. MetalGreymon is located in Bulk Swamp. He's very easy to beat if you have LV 20+ Digimon. Starting stats: HP 160 Fire Tolerance 130 MP 160 Water Tolerance 100 Strength 48 Ice Tolerance 60 Defense 50 Wind Tolerance 100 Spirit 52 Thunder Tolerance 95 Wisdom 30 Machine Tolerance 95 Speed 19 Dark Tolerance 100 Signature move: Peper Breath ===================== 5.2 Guilmon [ch052] ===================== Guilmon's DRI Agent can be found in Seiryu City after beat the Seiryu Leader. A combined level of 30-59 is required to get the quest. You'll need to beat WarGrowlmon who is located in Ether Jungle. He's moderately hard on LV 20. Starting stats: HP 150 Fire Tolerance 115 MP 130 Water Tolerance 80 Strength 51 Ice Tolerance 100 Defense 28 Wind Tolerance 130 Spirit 26 Thunder Tolerance 60 Wisdom 43 Machine Tolerance 115 Speed 52 Dark Tolerance 80 Signature move: Pyro Sphere ===================== 5.3 Kotemon [ch053] ===================== Kotemon's DRI Agent is found in the Mobius Desert. He's in the first screen between the three pillars. He'll tell you that he needs Kyukimon's DDNA only if your Digimon's combined level is 60-89. Kyukimon is located in Suzaku UG Lake. You may want to have a Digimon higher than LV 20. Starting stats: HP 150 Fire Tolerance 85 MP 100 Water Tolerance 125 Strength 48 Ice Tolerance 80 Defense 44 Wind Tolerance 80 Spirit 41 Thunder Tolerance 115 Wisdom 34 Machine Tolerance 100 Speed 33 Dark Tolerance 95 Signature move: Hot Head ===================== 5.4 Kumamon [ch054] ===================== The DRI Agent of Kumamon is found in the Mobius Desert. Go one screen west, then one screen south (or vice-versa, it doesn't matter). DRI Yuji is near the bus station. He'll tell you to find GrapLeomon if your Digimon's combined level is between 60 and 89. GrapLeomon is in Ether Jungle's southwest part. To get to that part you'll have to call Submarimon atthe dock in Phoenix Bay and go west in the Seabed. You'll come out of the water at a dock in the Ether Jungle. GrapLeomon will be in this part of the EtherJungle and he can be a bit tough if you're underleveled. Starting stats: HP 180 Fire Tolerance 80 MP 10 Water Tolerance 115 Strength 56 Ice Tolerance 105 Defense 58 Wind Tolerance 120 Spirit 19 Thunder Tolerance 85 Wisdom 17 Machine Tolerance 115 Speed 49 Dark Tolerance 60 Signature move: Bear Fist ==================== 5.5 Monmon [ch055] ==================== Monmon's DRI Agent is also in the Mobius Desert. To find him you'll need to go three screens south and one screen east. Your Digimon's combined level must be between 60 and 89 to get the quest to find Armormon. Armormon is on the Duel Island. Call Submarimon at the dock at Divermon's Lake and go two screens north in the Seabed to reach the Dueal Island. Armormon can also be tough if your Digimon are underleveled. Starting stats: HP 140 Fire Tolerance 100 MP 80 Water Tolerance 60 Strength 40 Ice Tolerance 115 Defense 42 Wind Tolerance 80 Spirit 26 Thunder Tolerance 80 Wisdom 37 Machine Tolerance 130 Speed 55 Dark Tolerance 115 Signature move: Swing Swing ===================== 5.6 Patamon [ch056] ===================== Patamon's DRI Agent appears near the dock in Central Part after you get the Suzaku Badge. Your Digimon's combined level has to be between 45 and 74. You'll need to beat MagnaAngemon who is located in the South Badlands. Starting stats: HP 130 Fire Tolerance 80 MP 170 Water Tolerance 115 Strength 20 Ice Tolerance 100 Defense 45 Wind Tolerance 115 Spirit 48 Thunder Tolerance 60 Wisdom 58 Machine Tolerance 80 Speed 29 Dark Tolerance 130 Signature move: Boom Bubble ===================== 5.7 Renamon [ch057] ===================== Renamon's DRI Agent appears on top of Leomon's Gym after beating Suzaku Leader. If your Digimon's combined level is between 45 and 74 he'll request Renamon's DDNA which can be gotten from Taomon. Taomon is located in North Badland W. He's moderately hard at LV 20. Starting stats: HP 140 Fire Tolerance 95 MP 200 Water Tolerance 100 Strength 31 Ice Tolerance 115 Defense 22 Wind Tolerance 80 Spirit 61 Thunder Tolerance 130 Wisdom 49 Machine Tolerance 60 Speed 36 Dark Tolerance 100 Signature move: Diamond Storm ==================== 5.8 Veemon [ch058] ==================== Veemon's DRI Agent appears in the Protocol Ruins after you defeat the real Byakko Leader in the Mirage Tower. Your Digimon's combined level must be 29 or lower to get the quest to search for Paildramon. After you get the quest go to Bulk Bridge to find Paildramon. He's very easy too beat. Starting stats: HP 160 Fire Tolerance 60 MP 150 Water Tolerance 95 Strength 39 Ice Tolerance 130 Defense 32 Wind Tolerance 115 Spirit 40 Thunder Tolerance 95 Wisdom 47 Machine Tolerance 75 Speed 42 Dark Tolerance 110 Signature move: Vee Head Butt ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ / 6. Card Game [ch06] / ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In order to begin the Card Game you need a Folder Bag. You get one by speaking to Divermon in AS Yellow Cruiser. It contains 40 cards. Rules: ------ A Card Battle consists of three sets. The first one to win to sets wins the battle. Each set consists of six phases. 1. Start Phase Two cards are on the table with the face down. The two cards are Calumon and Impmon. You get to choose one card. If you get Calumon you'll play first, if you get Impmon, the enemy plays first. Sometimes, if you'll play something that depends on what the enemy plays, it's better if you the enemy is the first to play. 2. Draw Phase Each player draws six cards. 3. Load Phase Both players can play Program Cards in this phase. If both players pass the next phase begins. 4. Summon Phase Both players summon Digimon in this phase. You mark the Digimon you want to summon with X. If all Digimon are marked you'll be asked if you want to summon the marked Digimon. If you don't want to summon all Digimon, mark the ones you want to summon and press the square button. 5. Compile Phase You can play whatever Program Card you want in this phase. Once both players pass the phase ends. 6. Battle Phase The Digimon attack each other. AP is used to reduce the enemy's HP. The one with most HP left wins. If it's a draw, you lose. Folders ------- A folder has 40 cards. You can't have more than 4 same cards in a folder, though you can have a total of 9 same cards altogether. S-Energy -------- I'm sure you have noticed the colored cubes on the bottom and top of the screen in a card battle. These cubes are called S-Energy. There are five colors: white, blue, green, red and black. Whenever you draw a colored card (for example: blue) you'll get one S-Energy of the same color (in this example you'd get 1 blue S-Energy). S-Energy is required to summon Digimon higher than level Rookie. Champion Digimon cost 1 S-Energy. Ultimate Digimon cost 2 S-Energy. Mega Digimon cost 3 S-Energy. *Epic Digimon cost 4 S-Energy. No S-Energy is needed for brown and program cards. *Epic Digimon are: Rosemon II, MarineAngemon, SaberLeomon, Gryphonmon and Creepymon. Digimon Cards ------------- Digimon cards appear in six different colors: white, blue, green, red, black and brown. Each Digimon has AP and HP. AP means attack points and HP means hit points. If 5/3 is written on a card, then that means the Digimon has 5 AP and 3 HP. If the HP of a Digimon reach zero, the Digimon is destroyed and sent into the trash can. Program Cards ------------- These cards also appear in the six mentioned colors, but they don't require S-Energy. Read the description of a card to see what it does. ======================== 6.1 Card Album [ch061] ======================== I'll split this section into two. One will list the Digimon in the order they appear in the Card Album. The other will list the Digimon by the Booster pack they're gotten in. List in the order the cards appear in the album - [ch0611] List by Booster Packs - [ch0611] Card Album [ch0611] ------------------- I will not write the descrption of program cards or the stats of the Digimon cards. for, unfortunately incomplete. The completion of this section will require much time. It's no easy job to get all the combos in the game. Please be patient or help me with this. The cards will be listed in the order they appear in the Card Album. I'll write the names of the cards required for the combo first, followed by the card you get from the combo. The former are in this order: white, blue, green, red, black, brown; ultimates > champions > rookies. Press Ctrl+F and enter the name of the Digimon you're looking for to find it. Note that Mega Digimon cannot combo. That is AP 792/ HP 792. Before you ask what's special about this, I'll tell you there's nothing special. Some people might feel like this is an accomplishment and that's why I'm adding this to the guide. If you want to achieve the Ultimate Combo you'll have to use a green Folder. Something like this is good: X-Nature! ^^^^^^^^^ Gold Aura Wild Aura Ecoly Cycle x3 Summon Palmon x4 Darkness Gale Fortune Gate Desire Access Absolute Barrier x2 Scramble Up x2 Charge Terminal x4 Garurumon x4 Kumamon x4 Gabumon x4 Tentomon x4 Palmon x4 It's a nice folder, but surely not perfect. A fourth Ecoly Cycle may be good and Deceive Cloak might prove useful, too. It's up to you. Some of the cards in the folder won't help you at all in achieving the max AP & HP, but I've added them to the folder for the sake of winning the card battle. You'll need these cards in the field: 3 same Digimon (not Mega) 99/99 3 same Digimon (not Mega) 99/99 That's 6x (99/99) = 594/594 You get two Combo Digimon with 99/99. Now it's: ----------- 594/594 + 2x (99/99) = 594/594 + 198/198 = | 792/792 | ----------- These cards *must* be in the Folder: 2x 3 same Digimon Wild Aura Desire Access Ecoly Cycle Charge Terminal You'll have to be a really lucky person to draw the cards you need. The Card Battle shoul look like this: Both players draw six cards. You need the following cards: 3 same Digimon (i.e Palmon) 2 same Digimon (i.e Gabumon) Charge Terminal In the Load Phase, you play Charge Terminal and draw the third card you need for the combo (in this case it would be Gabumon) and Desire Access. You summon all your Digimon in the Summon Phase. When the Compile Phase begins you play Desire Access which allows you to draw six cards. Two of those six cards have to be Wild Aura and Ecoly Cycle. Now you play Wild Aura to increase the Ap & HP of all your Digimon by 50. Wild Aura increases only the AP & HP of green Digimon. That's why you need a green Folder. After Wild Aura you play Ecoly Cycle. You're allowed to select a card from the trash can and put it back into your hand. Select Wild Aura. Play Wild Aura again and your Digimon will have 99/99. Congratulations! NOTE: There are a few more ways of getting the Ultimate Combo, but all of them include having a green folder and using Wild Aura. There's no need to list all possible ways. You can sure figure them out yourself. ========================== 6.7 Card Folders [ch067] ========================== Here are my folders which you can use if you think they are good enough. Feel free to submit your own folders via e-mail. Chances are that you will end up with a fairly weak hand or Digimon that you can't summon due to high S-Energy cost. OmnimonI will be hard to summon because there are only 3 other red cards. The requirements for obtaining the digivolutions are different by all rookies. The requirements are level and stat requirements, meaning when your rookie Digimon gets to a certain level and has a certain amount of some stat it will learn a Digivolution. Please note that you cannot miss any Digivolutions. It doesn't matter if you exceed the requirements, you'll get the Digivolution once all requirements are met. Your Digimon can have only three "equipped" Digivolutions at a time. You equip Digivolutions by going to the Digi-Lab (Dr. Kadomatsu in Asuka City, Piximon in other cities). Choose Digivolution > Change Digivolution. You'll get to choose Digivolutions from a list of learned Digivolutions. To Digivolve you can select the DV command in battle. If you want to begin a battle with a digivolved Digimon open the menu and choose Status. In the Status menu select Digivolution and "equip" the Digivolution you want. Here are a few examples of learning Digivolutions in case there's confusion: Agumon ------ Greymon - Agumon LV 20 This means, if you're attempting to get Greymon for Agumon, you'll need Agumon at LV 20 to get the Digivolution. The starter Digimon learn their original Digivolutions at LV 5, 20, 40 with the Digivolutions being champion, ultimate and mega levels. Agumon ------ SkullGreymon - Greymon lv 50, Dark Tolerance 130+ To get SkullGreymon for your Agumon, you'll need to have gotten Greymon. Then you need to bring Greymon to lv 50. When I say Dark Tolerance (or any tolerance in general) I mean the rookie Digimon's original tolerance. To see it remove all equipment and check the rookie's stats. Agumon will need at least 130 Dark Tolerance if you want the Digivolution. NOTE: What I said earlier. It doesn't matter if you exceed the requirements. You may get Greymon to lv 55 with Agumon having only 100 Dark Tolerance. You want miss the chance to get the Digivolution, though. You'll get it as soon as Agumon's original Dark Tolerance hits 130. =============================== 7.2 Digivolution List [ch072] =============================== Here are some codes for easier searching. Not all Digimon can DNA Digivolve, but I'll mention all who can. Here's how it works: You get two Digimon that can DNA Digivolve (i.e ExVeemon and Stingmon). In battle select the Tag command (while using a Digivolution that can DNA digivolve). You'll see a circle icon above the name of the other Digimon that can DNA digivolve. Select it, select the Digivolution and select DNA DV. Both Digimon will lose some MP and then they'll DNA Digivolve. They won't stay in the form of the DNA digivolved Digimon, they'll only unleash one powerful attack and then the two Digimon will switch. What I mean by "switch" is if your first Digimon was ExVeemon and you decided to do the DNA DV, you'll be left with Stingmon after the DNA DV. Here are the DNA Digivolutions with some descriptions and MP cost. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agunimon = Greymon + Hookmon Agunimon = Kyubimon + Dinohumon 80 MP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is probably the first DNA DV you'll be able to make. It can be pretty nice in some early fights, like Seiryu Leader's Apemon or Keith's Triceramon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- BladeGarurumon = Growlmon + Grizzmon 80 MP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you chose Maniac Pack at the beginning you'll be able to perform this DNA DV early in the game. It may help you in some early boss fights. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paildramon = ExVeemon + Stingmon 100 MP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great DNA Digivolution and you can get ExVeemon and Stingmon early in the game. It helps against almost any enemies. I remember using it against the Musyamon in Jungle Grave when my other Digivolutions weren't strong enough to handle them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- MegaGargomon = WarGrowlmon + Digitamamon ??? MP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This shouldn't be hard to get no matter what pack you chose. You'll see the strength of MegaGargomon in some boss battles. It may even one-hit kill some of the tougher Digimon. If it doesn't, it'll surely deal a lot of damage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phoenixmon = MagnaAngemon + Taomon 200 MP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another great Digivolution. It revives all fallen Digimon and raises the Defense of all Digimon. It shouldn't be a problem to get MagnaAngemon and Taomon regardless of which pack you chose. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Omnimon = WarGreymon + MetalGarurumon 240 MP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Omnimon is a really powerful Digimon. Its Transcend Sword will beat all enemies even the final boss will fall after 4-5 DNA Digivolutions to Omnimon. It shouldn't be too hard to get, especially if you chose the Powerful Pack. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Imperialdramon-P = Imperialdramon + Seraphimon ??? MP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great Digimon, great damage. It may prove useful, but Omnimon is better in my opinion. It might take some time to get Imperialdramon and Seraphimon on two different Digimon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beelzemon = Gallantmon + MaloMyotismon ??? MP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've never seen this Digivolution, so I can't tell you much. I believe it's pretty strong, though. Gallantmon shouldn't be a problem to get, but that's not true for MaloMyotismon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Diaboromon = BK WarGreymon + GranKuwagamon ??? MP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another DNA DV I've never seen. Both Digimon required aren't easily gotten. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- AncientGreymon = Imperialdramon-P + Diaboromon 300 MP --------------------------------------------------------------------------- People say that this is the strongest DNA Digivolution. I've never seen it, though. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ / 8. Items [ch08] / ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I won't include enemy drops in this section of the FAQ (use Ctrl+F to search the bestiary). I'll include a complete Item Shop list since none of the other FAQs have it and I'll include auctions and epic weapons because people are interested in those. Regarding enemy drops I want to say that it's not a guaranteed drop. It's rather a small chance. The items that are dropped can be stolen from the same enemy, as well. You want steal an item every time, either. It's a small chance again. The steal attempt is doomed to fail if the attack kill the enemy. There are two techniques used to steal enemy items. Those are Picking Claw and Snapping Claw, with the latter being more effective, but also dealing more damage.
