On the level Skatestreet Ventura how do you get the cut the corner gap?

I read the walkthrough and every time I try to get the cut the corner gap in the place that the walkthrough says it is.

I can never get it even when I do exactly what the walkthrough sais.

How do you get the cut the corner gap?
