How do you get Watto to talk to you?

In the Mos Espa level, when you go to Watto's shop for the first time, for some reason, Watto keeps asking me "what do you want?" But the dialogue doesn't show up, so I can't answer back! This has me stuck on this level. Anybody had the same problem? Is this a glitch or is there something I can do? (And for the record, yes, I did talk to all the characters in the correct order.)

I too have this very same problem. I cannot find a way around it. Watto zips around so much as part of his programming in the game which prevents conversation from being started in games that lag in conversation such as ours. If I find a way, I'll let you know.

Found a way to unfreeze Watto from where he gets stuck at the counter by going to the esc menu. Then once I’m able to approach him by pressing esc again to continue I press the button that lets you open things (usually it’s space bar I think but I’ve set it as e on my keyboard). Seemed to work to prompt the selectable dialogue again.

Hope this helps someone in 2020 lol.
