Hi,
In town square there is a egg thief of the higher ground. How do I stop him, he is really fast and I cannot catch him. Is there a special way or do I just have to keep trying?

If you press charge and jump at the same time you go faster.
Keep trying. As soon as you land on the plaform he is on charge after him, don't worry about the treasure, just chase him. You should catch him quite easily then. Go back for the treasure you missed once you've done that.
The easiest way is to run up to him and then at the last second flame him
Well, when I did it I charged after him till I got close enough to flame them and when I get that close I do hit the flame button
After charging him down the path right before he jumps to the bottom platform is when you use flame try and flame him mid jump and he will release egg, this is how I got it, charged him and used flame as he jumped down to the lower platform.
