I'm also doing fishing, and yep it takes a whole lot of time to get the Water Egg and the War God icon prizes. The easiest way I know is that you should use the Legendary Rod (acquired after defeating Koru) and fish near the spot at Buma. The Turbo Charger fish has a decent fishing point (around 60-100), Lippian (200-300) and if you're lucky the Devourer (300-400).
