Exactly 1 year
If you get your horse at spring 5 year 1
It will grow up(rideable)at spring 5 year 2
PS make sure it has 8 or more hearts to keep it

how can you gain 8 hearts? the last time i was not able to keep the horse, i only got 4 hearts.. is there a way to speed things up? (i meant the heart thingy)

Brush horse daily. Whistle to him each day. The horse whistle is a different command key than the whistle you use for the dog.
