You know that there you can see hay on the floor put the cage there and it won't make any noise.

Just lift the objects up slightly and let go of the X button (WHATEVER YOU DO DONT DROP IT YET !) then move them over a bit without hitting the walls because that will wake him up don't press the X button just slide them along the floor then press the /_\\ button and that should work
