Date of Question: Oct 4 2008 | Question ID: 130571 Okay, I got lost on my way to gongaga after the first gold saucer thingy, but I went the wrong way and my buggy BROKE DOWN! Damn... Anyway, I went to cosmo canyon and was wondering if it really mattered?

You're going the right way, the buggy is supposed to break down and afterwards you are supposed to go to cosmo canyon. While you're there which is part of the story the buggy will be repaired.
The first enemy skill materia you can obtain is after you beat the boss in Hojo's lab, the enemy skill materia was inside the glass case holding Hojo's experiment but there are other places to obtain it.
The first place to get it which I mentioned already is inside the Shinra building.
The second is in Junon in one of the houses along the path leading to the ship you used to get to Costa Del Sol you will find a basement with the enemy skill materia.
The third is in the City of the Ancients in the house shaped like a shell.
The fourth is in Chocobo Sage's house which is located on the northern continent surrounded by mountains but it will be a long time before you can go there.

1. Do not worry about Gongaga, there is a little cust seen.
2. E. Skill materia is not importaint.
3. Cosmo Canyon is where you should be.

1) Cosmo Canyons is actually a big part in the story. To get the buggy fixed, talk to the person near the campfire that asks you if your here to study. Say "no". He'll offer to fix the buggy.
2) Enemy Skill Materia can't be bought, as far as I know, but it can be found in a few places. It actually can help alot in battles.

Don't worry about your buggy. It gets fixed after you've completed the event at Cosmo Canyon. Cosmo Canyon is part of the story so you need to go there. You can then go back to Gongaga if you missed it. Gongaga doesn't really matter but there is a cutscene there and a Deathblow and Titan materia. You also vs the Turks there. The enemy skills cannot be bought. Here are where you get them:
At the Shinra building after you beat the SAMPLE: HO512.
One at Junon in the 2nd beginners hall.
In the City of the Ancients, in the house where you rest.
The 4th one is at the Chocobo Sage's house. Talk to the Chocobo.
