you have to go back to conde petite sorry for spelling but you have to talk to someone there and then when you go back to the black mage village the owls will leave and then you go on the right side and you will follow the other black mage

Once you've met the Black Mage in Conde Petite, the maze can be completed by reading the sign at the fork and going to the side "Where there are no Owl" until you enter the village.

Once you've entered the village, you will never have to solve the maze again.
