Full Review for Persona 4 Arena by

Introduction

Hello, is my first review I make, so I´ll try to make it good. Ok.
Persona 4 Arena is a 2D fighting game based on the SMT: Persona 4 Universe. Not like a spin-off, It´s a direct sequel from the PS2 JRPG game. It also includes some of the Persona 3 characters. Ok right I´ll star with some of the history without making so much spoilers.
When Yu Narukami (canonic name of the main character. In the original game you can choose any name you want) returns to Inaba, a little, quiet town, to see his friends again after two months when he left, he, and his friends found a bad surprise. The midnight channel (a channel that only shows at midnight in rainy days, and the person showed in there, will die) has returned. But much diferent than last time, because in it, a fighting tournament is announced and Kuma/Teddie (another charater) is the host of it. Then Yu and his friends look in search of what and why is happening all of this, while they are forced to fight each other making trough the end. And mostly important, why is Mitsuru, Akihiko and Aigis (Persona 3 characters) there.

Graphics

The visuals in Persona 4 Arena are just great. The character are HD sprites (like King of fighters Xlll, Guilty Gear or Blazblue)and the stage is made in 3D (looking really good) The visual effects makes an spectacular show (just by looking at the All-Out attack, the effect of the cloud is perfect), the special attacks, the light, the personas eveything. Even the animation of the characters is better than Blazblue Continuum Shift. You´ll like the entrance video

Sound

The sound is good, which adds the Persona 3 and 4 original music. Songs la the poem for everyone souls, I´ll face it myself (normal and battle) the almighty, reach out the truth, blues/electronica in velvet room, and a large etcetera, are included. Also there are New songs like the entrance song, and the characters songs (some of them are remixes of others songs, like reach out the truth for example). The sound effects acomplish their mission

Gameplay

The gameplay looks like Blazblue, but is very different from it. First, you have 4 defferent attacks to use, a weak, a strong, and a weak and strong from the persona´s character. You can make a quick combo if you only press the weak attack button, and if you have enough SP (Used to make super attacks) it will end with a super and spectacular attack. Great for novece gamers, but if you are hardcore then it´s the perfect game, ´cause the system envolve many movements, both ofensive and defensive, like a counter attack when you are blocking or the before mencioned All Out Attack, a burst to scape from one combo (with time it regenerates, but you´ll know when to use it), etc. And the awakened state that activates if your suffered certain damage, and will make you stronger, your SP bar is bigger and you will unlock a new and more powerful Super Attack.
Now talking of the characters, there´s only 13. But they are very different one from another. Yu makes good combos by sincronizing with his persona, Yosuke is faster and more aerial, Chie is better at ground combos, yukiko is good using her persona, etc. But there is a bad point:
Some of the characters are very unbalanced. This makes tha using Aigis, Yu, and specially Elizabeth win so easily to the other fighters, and maybe will be your worst nightmare (Elizabet most)but don´t worry too much, if you have a good strategy, you can win with the character that best suits you.

Lastability

Speaking of durability, the Story mode has 10 storys (4 of them unlocked at the start)and one secret, each story last in average 2 hours (22 hours of hystory!!!), that´s just the story mode. Arcade, Score Attack, Challenge, and the online mode will make you play this game for months. So it´s good

Overall

Persona 4 Arena is one of the best fighting games ever. Now Street Fighter x Tekken will have a great contendant for the fighting game of the year, with a system that atract beginners and the hardcores will love, a grat story and countless fights, is a great buy for you.
