Set the system date to the following to unlock the corresponding effects.

Halloween Theme:

Set the system date to October 31st to get a jack-o-lantern in the benches, statues, vases and other item options.

Christmas Theme:

Set the system date to December 25th for a Christmas tree to become available in the tree section, directly above the plants that grow in water. You will also find a Snowman in the benches, statues, vases and other item options.
