Worms 3D is the first game in the WormsTM series that is fully three-dimensional. Believe it or not, this is my second time writing this guide. I finished most of it when my computer needed to be "restored". I forgot to put any type of back-up for it and it was erased forever. Anyway, this guide is here to help you out in the World of Worms 3D. *Note: To help you find your way through the guide, you can use the key combination of 'Ctrl + F' to help you find specific areas. After that, you can create other Human Teams or AI Teams for Multiplayer if you wish to. ********* Armory ********* There are a total of 46 Weapons/Utilities as follows: Example: -Name- (Can also be known as) Usefulness Rating Damage Rating Accuracy Description *Tip* -Bazooka- (Rocket Launcher) 7.0/10 Usefulness 6.5/10 Damage 7.5/10 Accuracy The Bazooka is a weapon you'd want to master. Wind affects the accuracy of the bazooka and if you're good you can use this to your advantage. You can knock worms off ledges quickly if you're deadly with this weapon. *Did you know you can skip the bazooka's shell? If wind is really strong and you aim at the water (in the direction the wind is facing) you can skip the shell across the water.* -Homing Missile- (Homing Rocket Launcher) 7.5/10 Usefulness 7.0/10 Damage 8.5/10 Accuracy The Homing Missile is a good weapon for long range strikes. The only problem is that it's not perfect via blimp view. But is incredibly accurate if you can fire it via 1st person view. It sometimes has a tendency to circle around the target and not hit it. *In order to fire the Homing Missile (most of the time) successfully, fire it straight up (if nothing blocks it) and full power.* -Mortar- (N/A) 6.5/10 Usefulness 5.5/10 Damage 6.0/10 Accuracy The Mortar is a weapon that arcs out and clusters when exploding. *It is useful if you want to knock a worm off a ledge.* -Homing Pigeon- (N/A) 7.0/10 Usefulness 7.0/10 Damage 9.0/10 Accuracy The Homing Pigeon is a confusing bird. It can sometimes be very smart and accurate. And can sometimes be stupid and fly crashing into something. *Make sure to always fire the Pigeon at full power and at a slight angle so the bird doesn't explode from its initial decent.* -Red Bull- (N/A) 7.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy I'm quite surprised that his real-life item is included in a WormsTM game. It is like if you used the Low Gravity utility and Fast Walk utility at the same time. And no, it does not give you wiiings. *Good is you need to get somewhere fast.* -Grenade- (Fragmentation Grenade) 6.0/10 Usefulness 5.0/10 Damage 6.0/10 Accuracy I'm not real good with the Grenade. And I don't really care because it doesn't do much damage. It's quite hard to aim. *A good idea to make sure you hit something is to drop the Grenade right next to a worm (with a fuse of five seconds to get away) and run away. Also, did you know you can skip the Grenade? If wind is really strong and you aim at the water (in the direction the wind is facing) you can skip the Grenade across the water.* -Cluster Bomb- ("Potato Masher") 5.5/10 Usefulness 4.0/10 Damage 6.5/10 Accuracy I hate this weapon. Why? Because I can't hit anything with it, yet the compute is perfect and uses this weak weapon all the time. It's quite annoying. *A good idea to make sure you hit something is to drop the Cluster Bomb right next to a worm (with a fuse of five seconds to get away) and run away.* -Gas Canister- (Smoke Grenade) 4.0/10 Usefulness 3.0/10 Damage 6.5/10 Accuracy Another annoying, often used weapon by the computer (even if all the worms are poisoned). It poisons you and takes away a bit of health each turn. (I don't believe you can set the fuse to the Canister. I think it's set at five seconds right away.) *A good idea to make sure you hit something is to drop the Gas Canister right next to a worm and run away.* -Holy Hand Grenade- (H.H.G.) 8.0/10 Usefulness 8.5/10 Damage 7.5/10 Accuracy Ah, the Holy Hand Grenade. A favorite of many WormsTM players. It has a large explosion radius and can deal large damage. The only problem with this is that if you throw it, it bounces a lot. Fuses don't apply to the Holy Hand Grenade, it'll explode when it stops bouncing. *A good idea to make sure you hit something is to drop the Holy Hand Grenade right next to a worm and run away quickly!* -Banana Bomb- (Super Cluster Bomb) 7.0/10 Usefulness 8.0/10 Damage 7.0/10 Accuracy The Banana is a good clustering bomb that can deal large damage. Throwing can cause problems because even if you throw it with weak power, it'll bounce all over the place. *A good idea to make sure you hit something is to drop the Banana Bomb right next to a worm (use a short fuse so the bomb doesn't bounce away) and run away quickly!* -Shotgun- (Sniper Rifle) 8.5/10 Usefulness 6.0/10 Damage 7.5/10 Accuracy Another favorite weapon of many players. You can fire off two shots which makes it quite useful. It does up to fifty damage up close, but around five damage from far away. The only problem is that it is quite hard to aim it when the wind is more then four. *If you aim good enough you can knock two worms off ledges.* -Uzi- (Sub-machine Gun) 6.5/10 Usefulness 6.5/10 Damage 7.0/10 Accuracy The Uzi can do up to fifty damage (if all bullets hit), which isn't quite bad. Although sometimes I find its rate of fire quite erratic. *The Uzi is a good weapon if you want to slide someone off an edge.* -Petrol Bomb- (Molotov Cocktail) 6.5/10 Usefulness 4.5/10 Damage 8.0/10 Accuracy The Petrol Bomb is actually really accurate over small and mid-range distances. When it hits it releases an area of weak fire. *The true usefulness of the Petrol Bomb is its ability to knock worms fairly far distances. If used at full power and aimed correctly, you can fling worms well off of ledges.* -Blowpipe- (N/A) 3.0/10 Usefulness 2.5/10 Damage 8.0/10 Accuracy The Blowpipe is almost exactly the same as the Gas Canister. It poisons you and is quite annoying. It's mainly like a dud for a Weapons Crate pickup. *Somewhat useful if you use it to shoot Oil Barrels nearby worms.* -Sticky Bomb- (N/A) 9.0/10 Usefulness 6.5/10 Damage 7.0/10 Accuracy The Sticky Bomb is actually a very useful weapon when you want something to land exactly in the place you threw it. Over long distances it is somewhat inaccurate. The Sticky Bomb is a great laugh because you can stick it right on the sides or tops of worms. Also, the Sticky Bomb is not available during custom Schemes. *You can throw a Sticky Bomb anywhere. A good example is if you're lower than a worm that's on a floating island. Just throw the Bomb to the underside of the island to make the worm fall through.* -Mega Mine- (N/A) 8.0/10 Usefulness 7.5/10 Damage N/A Accuracy Essentially a huge Land Mine. Like all Land Mines, they have a chance of being a dud (beeps but then does the deactivation sound *piff*). *A great weapon to place in between a lot of worms. Great for knocking worms far away.* -Fire Punch- (Karate Punch) 8.0/10 Usefulness 5.0/10 Damage N/A Accuracy The Fire Punch gets N/A Accuracy because you have to be incredibly close to a worm for it to work. Make sure to aim slightly upward to get a better result. *Great for knocking worms off ledges and sending them flying.* -Baseball Bat- (Slugger) 7.0/10 Usefulness 5.0/10 Damage N/A Accuracy The Baseball Bat is a fidgety weapon. It can be used to knock worms far distances but the angle has to be just right to do so. Like the Fire Punch, you need to be incredibly close for it to work. *Good for knocking worms far distances and off ledges.* -Viking Axe- (N/A) 5.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Be careful with the Axe, make sure it doesn't hit any nearby Oil Barrels. You need to be close for it to work, but not too close or it'll go over the worm's head. *The Viking Axe is not truly useful unless the target has over two-hundred health.* -Prod- (Poke) 7.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Prod gets N/A Damage because it does not do any damage (and isn't supposed to). *Prod is actually a great tool for pushing worms off edges.* -Land Mine- (N/A) 5.0/10 Usefulness 5.0/10 Damage N/A Accuracy Land Mines are exactly like their randomly-placed counterparts (unless you have the No Fuses option on. Land Mines always have fuses). Like all Land Mines, they have a chance of being a dud (beeps but then does the deactivation sound *piff*). *Like just about any droppable weapon, they are good for knocking worms off ledges.* -Dynamite- (N/A) 7.0/10 Usefulness 7.0/10 Damage N/A Accuracy Dynamite has a fuse of five seconds (enough to place it and get away). It is somewhat powerful and can launch worms large distances. *If can manage to place a Dynamite on a worm's head, you might just blast them through the ground.* -Sheep- (N/A) 7.5/10 Usefulness 6.5/10 Damage N/A Accuracy A Sheep is actually an interesting weapon. When you release it, it'll run in a straight line (and jump over all obstacles) until you or the timer detonates it. *A Sheep is useful if you want it to hop across islands or if you drop it from a high place.* -Super Sheep- (N/A) 10.0/10 Usefulness 7.0/10 Damage N/A Accuracy The Super Sheep is an extremely useful (and quite unfair if used against you) weapon. It starts out as a normal Sheep. But tapping the launch button again causes it to turn into a flying, controllable Sheep. The Accuracy is N/A because you guide it towards the target. *The Super Sheep can fly forever (I think) so use it to kill far away worms.* -Old Woman- (N/A) 2.0/10 Usefulness 4.5/10 Damage N/A Accuracy The Old Woman (in my opinion) is totally useless. She randomly walks in the direction you tossed her and explodes at her own will. You basically can only control the direction and nothing else. *This weapon is totally worthless, don't bother.* -Mad Cow- (N/A) 5.0/10 Usefulness 6.5/10 Damage N/A Accuracy The Mad Cow is actually a more useful creature. You can release up to five of them at once (also in different directions if you want). The only has short five seconds fuses though. *Useful if you want many explosives to hit one place or random places.* -Air Strike- (N/A) 7.5/10 Usefulness 6.5/10 Damage N/A Accuracy Not that bad of a weapon. Select your target via blimp view and let the bombs fly. *Useful if you want to destroy a piece of land or hit near Oil Barrels.* -Concrete Donkey- (N/A) 7.5/10 Usefulness 5.5/10 Damage N/A Accuracy Think of it what you may, but the Concrete Donkey isn't that good. It is useful if you want to hit a large area though. *Good for knocking worms away or pummeling a hole in the ground.* -Lottery Strike- (N/A) 1.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Probably the only weapon worse than the Old Woman. The tickets are highly affected by wind and can hit between one and fifty damage. *No use. I once used this weapon and two tickets landed on either side of a worm (literally an inch away) and no splash damage was inflicted.* -Doctor's Strike- (N/A) 0.5/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Worst utility. Why? Because you order in a Air Strike of Health Crates. After that it ends your turn. So it's useless because your opponent can pick up the crates on their turn. *Only useful is you could manage to make all the boxes hit your worms.* -Jet Pack- (N/A) 8.5/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy A great method of travel. But runs out of fuel quickly. *If you fall for a while you can boost the thrusters (they'll be blue) and you'll get a strong push from it.* -Ninja Rope- (N/A) 6.5/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy A difficult utility to master but useful for get to higher places. *You can swing on the rope to cross chasms.* -Teleport- (N/A) 7.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Teleports your worm to the location specified. Be careful with your aiming though. *For whatever reason, computers always manage to teleport inside of objects. I can't.* -Parachute- (N/A) 7.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Opens at Parachute. *Great for gliding distances in strong wind or dropping down to a lower area unharmed.* -Girder- (N/A) 4.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Places a metal Girder at the area specified. *Good for making a bridge to cross a gap or as a small defense.* -Bridge Kit- (N/A) 7.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Lets you place up to five Girders. *Useful for turtling behind a defense of Girders.* -Freeze- (N/A) 3.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Supposedly protects you from damage (and poison) but makes you slide a lot if hit. *I don't use this, ever. So I can't comment.* -Scales of Justice- (N/A) N/A Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy The Scales of Justice allow you to average out every remaining worms health (so that they're all the same health). *Use this if you're low on health or worms.* -Binoculars- 1.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Allows you to zoom in 1st person view. Not available during custom Schemes. *No real purpose.* -Earthquake- 7.5/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Creates an Earthquake that moves and shakes around Land Mines, Oil Barrels, and worms. *Useful if a map is small, that way one worm can hide, use Earthquake and kill everyone else.* -Nuclear Bomb- 4.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Causes every worm on the map to get poisoned (although sometimes the worm who deployed it won't get sick) and raise the water level up a bit. Strange that the Wormapedia name and the weapon name is different. *Useful if you have access to Health Crates to heal your worms.* -Skip Go- N/A Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Skips this worm's turn. *Good if you don't want to do anything that turn.* -Surrender- N/A Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Causes your team to surrender. *Why would you Surrender? Fight to the death!* -Worm Select- N/A Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Allows you to pick a different worm if the Automatic Worm Select option is off. *Useful if Automatic Worm Select is off.* -Fast Walk- 7.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Allows your worm to move much faster than before. -Low Gravity- 8.0/10 Usefulness N/A Damage N/A Accuracy Allows you to jump far distances. *Also good if you want to knock away worms really far.* *************** Unlockables *************** There are a total of 84 Unlockables as follows: Example: Name (How to Unlock) *Note: This is how the list is ordered in the actual game. GOLD: < 19.25 My Time: 7.21 Congratulations on completing the Challenges! You are now a skilled combatant in the world of Worms 3D! Congratulations on completing the Single Player section! You have completed all 63 different Scenarios of Worms 3D! ************* Multiplayer ************* Multiplayer is the true heart of Worms 3D. You can play with friends or against the computer (or just watch a computer match if you wish). The useful thing about Multiplayer is, you only need one controller! (All four teams can play just be controller passing.) Here are some sections of the Multiplayer for you to use. -Teams- Select your Teams for Multiplayer. I recommend making your own Computer and Human Teams (if you wish) and using them (and deleting the old ones). A Team can have a maximum of 6 worms on it. Although, the map limit is 16. So 2 players = 6 worms each, 3 players = 5 worms each, 4 players = 4 worms each if you want it balanced. You can also choose to be on the same (or differing) teams. TO be on the same team, just choose the color of your ally. -Game Settings- This is where you can set your Schemes. I recommend making your own. Fun ones are: FULL Wormage - Unlimited Ammo for every Weapon and Utility. Maximum drops for random crates. Melee Only - Unlimited Ammo for Melee Weaponry (Prod, Fire Punch, Baseball Bat, etcetera) and unlimited (or limited if you wish) Utilities. Sinking - Choose whatever Weaponry you want, but make it that the water starts rising right away. Prod Wars - Unlimited Prods and Utilities (except Girder and Bridge Kit). -Wormpot- This is a tool which can give you handicaps or bonuses inside the matches. Fun ones are: Double Damage, Super Explosives, Power Explosives - Use this to blow the proverbial crap out of each other. Wind Affects Weapons (x3) - Try using an Air strike or Concrete Donkey in this mode! Worms Only Drown, Slippy Mode, Double Damage - Here's a fun one. Specialist Worms, One Shot One Kill, Max Fall Damage - This is a tough one. -Landscape Selection- You can select any unlocked maps to play on or you can use the Random Map Generator. You can also select whether the land is indestructible or not. You can also create your own random map by adjusting the values of each variant. -Random Map Generator- The Random Map Generator is such a useful and interesting feature it deserves its own section. You can literally put in any sort of phrase, number, or nonsensical thing in there and pop out a map. There are many great maps out there. Here are a few funs ones I've played: Acclaim Akklaim Proverbial Egg Timer 231194867 Act of War 33953553 GrandTheftAuto 39068241 114979305 241780452 229305529 228510645 228510646 185932784 239431639 239431636 239339488 ******** Extras ******** The Worms Story/Song - If you listen to the song long enough (the one that plays after a Multiplayer match, or you can look at the Credits to hear the song) you will hear a narrator talk about the Worms Story and a chorus of a worms will sing. Here's the song: Narrator: "This is the continuing saga of courage, honor, and worms! Many generations have passed since we were last witness to such a raging war, Long forgotten by creatures who dwell on the world's surface, The ongoing struggle of the worms have caused much bloodshed, As cults and clans battled on for dominance of the world. Over the years, Boggy B. had seen many a bloody battle, yet still, he fights on, For glory, for honor, and for his fallen friends, he must settle the score, So that future generations may live without fear of Air Strikes and Grenades, Or face the hardship every day, that the war has brought upon his world." Worms (Chorus): "We are worms, we're the best, And we've come to win the war, We'll stand, we'll never run, Stay until it's done, Though our friends may fall, And our world be blown apart, We'll strike with all our might, We'll fight for what is right, 'Till the end..." *pause* Narrator: "If anything, life as a worm has become even more dangerous, Experiments had brought new and more powerful weapons to the battle, Stories of exploding bananas were used to scare the young ones from mischief, Sometimes even hardened war veterans could not hide their simmering fear. We join Clagnut, son of Spadge, as he sets out on a scouting mission behind enemy lines, The memory of his father clear in his mind, Clagnut carefully peeked over a leaf, It was to his horror he saw his uncle, Boggy B., trapped in a cave, And the enemy's evil smile as he reached for the Soft Fruit of Doom!" Worms (Chorus) 'Till the end..." Narrator: "This was the moment he had trained for since he was only half an inch long, Using the rope he had packed, Clagnut lowered himself down the hill, Primed for action, silent and deadly as only the slimiest worms can be, He crouched down, and quietly squirmed behind his foe, prepared to make it count. At such a close range, a Grenade or Banana would surely make things worse, So he drew his Baseball Bat and struck his foe across the neck with a mighty swing, The enemy flew high and into the abyss, where Boggy then rained three Cows upon his head, And once again, the cry was heard far across the land, 'We've won the War!'" Worms (Chorus) Worms (Chorus) Worms (Chorus) Worms (Chorus while fading) Thanks to the guys on the Worms 3D Forum! I find it odd how the song doesn't say: "'Till the end" near the end of the song, I would assume it would, but it doesn't. "Mini-Games" - A fun thing to do in Multiplayer is to play "mini-games". Here are some ideas: Sinker : Use whatever weapons you wish (shouldn't be too strong weapons, Shotguns, Grenades, and Baseball Bats are good choices) to shoot/blast Land Mines into the water (or each other!). Fire Storm : Use whatever weapons you wish to blast/sink Oil Drums. Scorched Earth : Use strong weaponry to destroy as much of the land as possible. Tag : Use Utilities to run away from the other worm. To "Tag" someone, give them a simple Prod. (Or you could use the 'Worms Only Drown' Wormpot mode and use weaponry to knock them towards land.) The Statues - You may or may have not noticed that some (usually only a select few) Random Maps contain a statue of the Concrete Donkey or the Buffalo of Lies. Here are the maps: random - Contains a statue of the Buffalo of Lies.
