Note
----
When rating these godpowers many things have been taken into consideration:
- The GPs usefulness
- Is it effective? Easily countered?
- At which part of the game do you get this GP?
- Is it potentially pivotal?

Subsequently, certain archaic GPs are rated higher than Mythic godpowers,
when in actual fact, the latter are all-round better.
The ratings of these godpowers are purely circumstantial, and not
necessarily definite by any sense.

***************************************************************************
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* *-*-*-*-*GREEK GODPOWERS-*-*-*-*-**-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
***************************************************************************

*-*-*-*-*-*Zeus- Bolt [Gr1]*-*-*-*-*-*

A bolt of lightning strikes from the sky, killing any single unit. You can
bolt a titan, but it wont kill it.

A pretty decent archaic GP. It can counter mythic god powers such as Son of
Osiris and Nidhogg, if your enemy is stupid enough to cast these GPs whilst
you have bolt.
Can really mess up a Norse player if you bolt their starting ulfsark!
Certain units, such as citizens, cannot be bolted (unfortunately).

Duration: Instantaneous

6.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-*Poseidon- Lure [Gr1]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target a location for a special stone which draws animals to it. After
summoning a certain amount a certain amount of animals, the lure will
crumble

As far as archaic economic GPs go, this is the worst. Although it does
bring a few hunting animals to a set location, it is easily enough to simply
scout the animals and go out and hunt them.
Most Possy players tend to do this, but use lure close to their TC, so that
villagers have easy hunt as soon as they are trained.
Can be used when raiding, if casted near an enemy TC- so that it fires on
it, whilst you attack villagers- again, if the enemy is dumb enough to not
micro your raiding party.

Duration: Till animals of a total 1000 food have been lured

4/10

*-*-*-*-*-*Hades- Sentinel [Gr1]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target one of your own or an allied town center to be protected by stone
guardians

You get 4 Sentinels. They are each strong, but pretty inaccurate. Good for
defending a fragile eco or a town center close to the enemy. Enemies will
hesitate to raid you if you have sentinels to defend yourselves.
Sentinels are technically animated buildings, and benefit from Masons and
architects Upgrades. Subsequently, Sentinels are quite resistant to archers
pierce attacks. If Infantry attempt to attack the Sentinels, your TC will be
in range, and will be able to fire on them. Quite useful.

Duration: Till death

6/10

*-*-*-*-*-*Athena- Restoration [Gr2]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target a location to heal the units and repair buildings, siege weapons and
ships that belong to you or allies.

Best used when attacking to heal units. Generally, will heal the units
faster than they will be dying- so it can easily turn the tide in an early
battle- though usually when your enemy casts Restoration, thats your cue to
retreat. Can be used to heal buildings as well, but I wouldnt recommend it,
unless its really needed.
Compound restorations are more powerful.

Duration: 7 seconds

6.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-*Hermes- Ceasefire [Gr2]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target anywhere on the map to prevent every player from fighting and
building towers or fortresses for a short period of time.

This GP can be used In so many different scenarios. If used tactically, this
can be one heck of a useful GP. Can counter; Frost, Bronze; Flaming Weapons,
Pestilence, amongst other GPs. Can be used to stall time, to wait for allies
to arrive if you are being attacked. Can also be used more cleverly, like to
build on one of the enemies 3 TCs, while all he can do is just watch.

Duration: 1 minute

7.5/10
(deserves a much better rating, but I cant bring myself to raise it)

*-*-*-*-*-*Ares- Pestilence [Gr2]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target near enemy military buildings to prevent them from training any new
military units.

Attack, kill enemy units, use pestilence. Thats about as good as it gets
with this GP. A smart player will just retreat and not let his units die, or
just build new military buildings to counter this GP.
I guess the long duration of this godpower is quite good, but apart from
that I cant see any reason to rate it too highly.

Duration: 50 seconds

5.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-*Aphrodite- Curse [Gr3]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target near enemy soldiers or villagers to turn several of their units into
pigs.

A really poor heroic GP. Only turns ? enemy units into pigs? Really? For a
heroic godpower? You dont even get to choose which units you want cursed if
the enemy units are clustered.
I suppose if you captured the subsequent pigs, than you might get a little
food source from it, but at heroic age, you are most likely at the farming
stage which is a more efficient source of food anyways.
Best used against enemy gold miners at an early stage.

Duration: Instantaneous

4.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-*Apollo- Underworld Passage [Gr3]*-*-*-*-*-*

Select two locations on the map to create entrances to the underworld
through which units can move.

Good for when attacking just make a passage between your military base to
the back of the enemies base or economy. Not entirely useful in supremacy,
but can be pivotal in death match. Strong on closed maps such as Ghost
lake and highlands.

Duration: Till destroyed

7/10

*-*-*-*-*-*Dionysus- Bronze [Gr3]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target a location to turn the skin of your and allied soldiers and ships to
bronze, reducing their vulnerability in combat

Makes already strong Greek units even more powerful by increasing their
pierce and hack armor. Unlike flaming weapons, can only be used on a select
number of units- instead of all your military units on the map. Can also be
casted on allies armies.
Strong for when you attack In battle- but make sure that its a scenario
where the enemy NEEDS to fight you, or else he will simply just run- and its
pretty useless using this GP against buildings.

Duration: 1:30

6.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-*Hephaestus- Plenty [Gr4]*-*-*-*-*-*

Select a location to erect this great vault. The bounty of the gods will
flow into your coffers as long as you control it.

If youre going FM, like many Greek players do, this is a good Godpower to
have, as it gives you 3 food, wood and gold a second to your struggling
economy.
Thats 180 of each of the 3 resources a minute- thats not bad for early
game. However, late game, this is really useless- as you likely already have
a huge economy, to which you dont need a few resources here or there.
I guess it could justify you deleting a few villagers to make population.
Like all godpowers, their usefulness is completely circumstantial, so it is
difficult to rate.

Duration: Forever

7.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-*Hera- Lightning storm [Gr4]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target a location to call down an electric storm from Olympus. Strong
against units. Weak against buildings

Kills countless enemies if they are dumb enough to go into open battle
against this Godpower. Though, it can be easily avoided by garrisoning your
units, or by simply running away. Best used in a big, important battle. Do
not waste it!
Works against military units, ships, villagers- just about anything alive,
as well as buildings- though I Strongly recommend you dont use them vs
buildings, as they do very, very little damage, if any.

Duration: 15 seconds

6.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Artemis- Earthquake [Gr4]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target near an enemy to shatter their buildings and throw their armies to
the ground. Strong against buildings, weak against units.

Does a set amount of splash damage to either buildings or units in your
targeted area- so its very consistent in that sense. Can be completely
game-changing if used well, like on a players military base or houses/TC.
Not a 10/10 because it can be countered by getting building HP ups such as
masons, fortified TC etc.
Always follow this GP with an attack!

Duration: 11 seconds

***************************************************************************
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* *-*-*-*-*EGYPTIAN GODPOWERS*-*-*-*-**-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
***************************************************************************

*-*-*-*-*-Isis- Prosperity [Eg1]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target anywhere to make all your villagers gather gold faster.

Generally used in late classical/ early heroic, to garner enough gold for an
extra TC, migdol stronghold, for military units or for farms.
Makes gold collecting x more effective, and subsequently this GP is
imperative for the typical Isis player.

6.5/10

Duration: 50 seconds

*-*-*-*-*-Ra- Rain [Eg1]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target anywhere to make all your villagers on the map gather from farms
faster. Your villagers gather the fastest.

Triples your farming rate for a good amount of time. Will also increase all
players farming rates, but not by as much. A couple good upgrades to get
before invoking rain are Shaduf (Ptah only), which significantly decreases
the amount of farms, and plow, which further increases your farming rate.
Can be effectively used at any point in a game, but best used early on to
help get food for advancing/ getting villagers.
Is a GP blocker.

Duration: 1 minute

6.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Set- Vision [Eg1]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target a region of the black map to be temporarily revealed.

An ideal godpower for Set to have. Can be combined with other GPs such as
meteor to cause big damage to enemies, or with Shifting sands to shift a big
army to anywhere they want on the map for a surprise attack.
Though, most Set players will invoke Vision at the beginning of the game to
get line of site, and to reveal animals for hunting, or for conversion with
your priest.

Duration: 20 seconds

6/10

*-*-*-*-*-Anubis- Plague of Serpents [Eg2]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target a location on the map where dangerous serpents will rise from the
ground and protect an area from your enemies.

Oh dear... What were the AOT makers thinking when they created this GP? So
lousy. Serpents are very weak in health and in attack. Even if it gives you
9 of them. Can be used as a really bad meat shield when attacking, or to
attack enemy villagers- but again, even the villagers can beat them. Can be
ceast in the water to spawn water serpents- but they Are hardly any better.
Worst Classical godpower.

Duration: Till death

2/10

*-*-*-*-*-Bast- Eclipse [Eg2]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target anywhere on the map to turn day to night, improving the attack and
speed of all your myth units for a short time.

Egyptian myth units arent particularly special, so this GP isnt brilliant.
However, if used along with ancestors god power, it will send enemies
running. Apart from that, its ok to use if you Petsuchos spam, or if youre
daring- phoenix spam. Oddly enough, Eclipse increases your favor generation
rate by 30%. Is a GP blocker.

Duration: 1:05

5.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Ptah- Shifting Sands [Eg2]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target your own or enemy units, and then target the location where you wish
to teleport it.

Shifting sands can shift your, an allies, or an enemies units from one place
on a map to another. However, it will shift less units if invoked on an
enemy. If used in attacking- its very difficult to defend against, since it
can be very spontaneous. In late game, consider combining with vision (if
Set) to shift siege + a few units + villagers to the enemies back TC.

Duration: 4 seconds

6/10

*-*-*-*-*-Hathor- Locust Swarm [Eg3]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target near enemy farms or fishing ships to summon a plague of locusts to
attack them.

This GP is all about placement. If casted in the right place, dozens of
enemy villagers can be killed- seriously damaging the enemies economy.
Locust Swarm is more often than not combined with roc drops, to increase
your kill count. Can counter well in the scenario of your enemy using
ceasefire to build a TC. One of the better Heroic godpowers. Can also be
used to destroy farms, attack fishing ships- though oddly it does not affect
trade caravans.

Duration: 35 seconds

7.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Sekhmet- Citadel [Eg3]*-*-*-*-*-*

Select a town center belonging to you or an ally to be transformed into a
mighty.

Citadel improves and upgrades your TCs health by 900 HP and attack by 3.
Though, however much of a temptation it is to use citadel on your front TC,
do not- make sure to use it on a town center that wont be destroyed- your
main or back TCs are ideal. This is because citadel also grants you an
extra 10 population, until it is destroyed. Can be cast on your own, aswell
as on an allies TC- do not use citadel if you are not advancing, or
researching an upgrade, as all your build orders will be reset once citadel
is cast.

Duration: Till destroyed

5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Nephthys- Ancestors [Eg3]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target a location near an enemy army or navy where long dead soldiers will
rise for a short time to fight again.

Spawns 13 Minions to form a really powerful meat shield, especially when
combined with eclipse- which tends to be the case. Better use in an
attack, because otherwise the enemy will simple flee. Ancestors can also be
cast on water to form a temporary fleet of ships.
Commonly used in raiding.

Duration 1:00

7/10

*-*-*-*-*-Horus- Tornado [Eg4]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target near an enemy to send a cyclone that will suck their buildings and
units up into the sky, but stay out of its way

There is no great way this GP can be used, because to be honest, its pretty
poor, Does minimal damage on buildings or units targeted, since the tornado
moves once it has been cast. Like earthquake, tornado has a limit to how
much damage can be done when casted- and the limit is pretty low. I guess
the best use for this GP is to be used vs. an enemies army. If used in
online multiplayer, is infamous for causing games to go Out Of Sync.

Duration: 20 seconds

5.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Thoth- Meteor [Eg4]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target an enemy area to bombard with burning rocks from the heavens. Strong
against buildings, moderately effective against units.

Use Meteor on a cluster of buildings. Its very powerful- Masons and
architects upgrades wont help a hack of a lot in countering meteor- though
unfortunately meteor is inaccurate. If you try to target 1 specific building
to be destroyed by meteor, only two or three at most rocks will hit the
target.
Decent against units, will generally kill a weak unit on impact.

Duration: 17 seconds

8/10

*-*-*-*-*-Osiris- Son Of Osiris [Eg4]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target your Pharaoh to transform him into a super-empowering, lightning-
wielding demigod.

One of the most powerful units in the game, as it does significant damage to
multiple enemies at a time. Is very strong, but enemies will attempt to
micro your SOO as soon as you cast the Godpower. Empowers more effectively
than pharaohs or Ra priests, but is better used in battle. This unit is
especially good as it doesnt cost any population. DO NOT CAST SON OF OSIRIS
IF YOUR ENEMY HAS BOLT!

Duration: Till death

8.5/10

***************************************************************************
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* *-*-*-*-*NORSE GODPOWERS-*-*-*-*-**-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
***************************************************************************

*-*-*-*-*-Odin- Great Hunt [N1]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target a group of animals to multiply their numbers. Only one great hunt can
affect a particular animal.

I read on another Godpower FAQ that great hunt cannot be cast on hunt
animals- utter nonsense. Great Hunt can be cast on both herd and hunt
animals- though villagers will gather quicker from hunt animals- so its best
used on them. A great GP to have on a low hunt map such as ghost lake,
though poor for fishing maps. Will multiply low food animals such as cranes
several times, though will only multiply high food animals like rhinoceros
once. Typically used to get fast food for a Classical advance and rush.

Duration: Instantaneous

5.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Loki- Spy [N1]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target on an enemy unit to secretly see what it sees.

This godpower is a Loki-raiders best friend! With your starting ulfsark,
scout an enemy villager, and use spy on it. Throughout the game, you will be
able to see it, as well as other villagers around its location. Great for
assisting you with early on Forsetti Hersir raids or Raiding cavalry raids-
just make sure not to kill the your own spy!

Duration: Till death

6/10

*-*-*-*-*-Thor- Dwarvern mine [N1]*-*-*-*-*-*

Select a location to create a new gold mine that has more gold if used in
later ages. Anyone can mine it, but dwarves mine it faster.

You get most gold by far by casting Dwarvern mine at mythic age, but most
Thor players use it right as soon as the game starts. This is because with
Thor, you start with 2 dwarves- and dwarves are strong at mining gold. The
starting Ox cart is used for accommodate for villagers hunting, so with no
ox cart for your dwarves to use, its cost effective to cast this godpower
right next to your TC.
Gives you a slight economical edge over your opponents, since your already
gathering gold, and they are not. The gold gathered can be used to train
extra dwarves in the archaic age, so you save food for advancing.

Duration: Till mined

5.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Freyja- Forest Fire [N2]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target a forest to burn it to the ground, damaging nearby units.

Greatly damages all units and buildings close to the fire- thats if any
enemy player is nave enough to go close. If you could somehow trap enemy
units near the fire, you could get quite a few kills. To counter though,
simply do not build near trees. Forest fire does not hurt the casters own
units or buildings. Consider raiding enemy villagers chopping trees with
your Valkyrie and raiding cavalry, and try to sandwich them between the fire
and the party. Forest Fire + Gaia forest combination will destroy an
Atlantean Town center.

Duration: 30 trees

4/10

*-*-*-*-*-Heimdall- Undermine [N2]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target near enemy walls, towers or fortresses to crumble them.

Destroys walls and towers instantly, no matter what upgrades have been added
to them. If there are more than one enemy tower nearby, simply aligned the
one of more towers into a line, and cast Undermine at the to the tower at
the end of the line for all of the towers to be destroyed. Can be cast on a
town center or a hill fort/ fortress/ midgol stronghold/ palace to do x
amount of damage

Duration: 14 seconds

5.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Forsetti- Healing Spring [N2]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target a location on the map where you want to produce a spring that will
heal all units nearby. There spring cannot be destroyed, but can be taken
over by enemy forces.

This slow-working spring is very useful for healing units that have been
injured in battle or in raiding. If you are winning a battle, it is smart to
select units that have only a little health left, and send them back to the
spring. After about a minute or so, they are fully repaired and ready for
action once again. Cast healing spring in a well defended area- as this
Godpower is just as useful for your enemy as it is for yourself- and you
enemy will most likely attempt to take control of the spring.
Resist temptation to cast healing spring in the middle of a battle, as the
GP wont heal your units quick enough to make much of a difference in the
fight, and if you lose that battle, the enemy will take control of the
spring

Duration: Forever

6.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Njord- Walking Woods [N3]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target near a forest to animate the trees to attack enemies nearby. The
animated trees are strong against buildings and decent against buildings.

Walking woods is the plague of serpents of the Heroic age. They are
similar in the sense that you cannot take control of the animated trees, but
they merely wander around until they take site of an enemy, which they will
attack.
Though this may be an unfair comparison as the animated trees are much
stronger than Serpents- they provide a very strong meat shield in the case
of battle. Certainly is a nuisance to defend against if the enemy uses this
GP near your wood chopping villagers, as they will need to relocate, and
many villagers may die (though villagers faster than the animated trees).
The maximum amount of trees that can be animated with walking woods is 7,
but to maximize the amount, make sure to cast in the middle of a plentiful
forest, and not by the edges.
Walking woods can be cast on any type of tree, and is often used as a
substitute for siege, due to their effectiveness against buildings.

Duration: Till death

6/10

*-*-*-*-*-Skadi- Frost [N3]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target near an enemy army to freeze their soldiers solid for a short period
of time.

Frost is a very powerful godpower to posses, as it can be used in both
defense and in attack. Although using frost on enemy military units greatly
increases their army, you can still get a few kills out of it if you attack
their units whilst they are frozen- this is probably the best thing to do if
you are using frost in defense. However, if you are using it in attack,
frost the enemy army, then lay siege to the enemies buildings- they will
have no army to stop you after all! Can counter godpowers like Flaming
weapons and Bronze, but only freezes units in a certain radius of where you
invoke it.

Duration: 50 seconds

7.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Bragi- Flaming Weapons [N3]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target one of your soldiers to cause the weapons of all your human soldiers,
siege weapons and ships to burst into flame, increasing their attack.

If you have a big army, this GP is so powerful. Sooooo powerful! However, to
make it work, there are some rules you need to keep to.
1. Never use this when you are defending, or else your enemy will run.
2. Never use if your enemy has a counter GP such as Ceasefire or Frost.
3. Do not waste it!!! If you know there is a chance of you getting to The
Mythic age and using Ragnorak (as Thor) than just wait! You need to wait
till the right moment to invoke flaming weapons, or else your chance will be
wasted.

Duration: 1:00

8.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Tyr- Fimbulwinter [N4]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target anywhere on the map to summon packs of ferocious wolves to attack
four enemy town centers.

A Pretty decent GP to have in team games, as can throw all of your enemies
ecos off balance. Villagers will be killed, ecos will be stalled as other
villagers will be forced to garrison their TC, wolves will destroy
buildings, but perhaps most importantly, trade caravans will be killed/
injured, taking them off their trade route.
Not so great in 1 v 1, because Fimbulwinter will hit a maximum of 4 TCs, but
its unlikely that your enemy will have that many TCs, so it wont be used
at its full power.
Multiple simultaneous Fimbulwinters in a team game are completely
devastating.
Is a GP blocker.

Duration: 35 seconds

7/10

*-*-*-*-*-Baldr- Ragnorak [N4]*-*-*-*-*-*

Target anywhere on the map to permanently turn all of your gatherers and
dwarves into mighty heroes

The make of break, all or nothing godpower Ragnorak is perhaps the most
feared godpower in the game. Turns all your villagers/ dwarves into strong
heroes of Ragnorak in a split second. Heroes of Ragnorak can be used
against anything, since they are so powerful. When casted, consider
splitting your army and sending them to different locations of the map-
enemy TCs, enemy trade, enemy military bases and enemy armies would be the
most logical locations to send your army to.
A few tips for using Ragnorak:
1. Researching military upgrades will obviously help with your attack.
2. Make sure your population is as high as it can go with villagers or
military, since after you invoke Ragnorak, you wont be able to train anymore
units (until some of your units have died).
3. Try to save up as much resources as you can before using this GP. Even if
you fail to kill your enemy with your attack, if he is badly hurt, there is
still a way back into the match for you. If you have enough resources saved
up, you can work on rebuilding your economy and your army.
4. Combine with Flaming weapons when possible to make your attack twice as
devastating. Your enemy would be stupid to face an army of Ragnorak +
Flaming weapons.

Duration: Instantaneous

8.5/10

*-*-*-*-*-Hel- Nidhogg [N4]*-*-*-*-*-*

Select a location to summon the mighty Norse dragon from his delve beneath
the earth.

The dragon Nidhogg has 2000 HP, does a great amount of splash damage to
units and buildings, costs no population and can only be attacked by ranged
units/buildings. Sounds too good to be true doesnt it? Well, it is. Nidhogg
is very vulnerable against Archers, especially priests and hero archers such
as Chiron and Odysseus, so its not wise to send the Nidhogg into battle
against archers. The Nidhogg also isnt great against buildings, so consider
using him for raiding enemy villagers. The Nidhogg cannot be healed, so take
