No need to capitalize ANYTHING. Just do this:
Ctrl+Shift+c
type in: testingcheatsenabled true
then press Enter
This will allow you to build/buy on lots that you do not own.
Press Ctrl+Shift+c AGAIN
type in buydebug OR buydebug on
Then press shift and click on a lot and choose buy mode. Viola.

i bought the axe, but when i go back into live mode the axe dissapeared!! i had orginally found the axe, but it vanished when i moved houses, so i used the cheat to buy it. HELP!

You need to press Ctrl Shift C at the same time to bring up the cheat box. Then type

testingcheatsenabled true

and press Enter. Then bring the cheat box up again and type

buydebug on

and press Enter. None of the letters need to be capitalised.
