When you begin Chapter 2-1 you will be in a garage with two Humvees, lots of breakable crates, and a machine gun. Pick up any useful items including the machine gun and at the end of the game select 'Yes' to overwrite your current equipment. Then at the 'Main' menu continue the game and you will notice that you have gained your items. From here you can sell the machine gun back for quick money and repeat the process over again. Doing this is an easy way to help upgrade your weapons early in the game and max your ammo out.
If you complete the game on the indicated setting you will be able to buy the corresponding graphic filter for 0 pts at the 'Bonus Features' selection.
Unlock Classic Horror (Black & White):

Unlock Retro (Sephia):
Beat the game on Normal difficulty
Unlock Noise (Grain effect):

Jill Valentine becomes a Playable Character on your next playthrough when you have completed the game on any difficulty setting with Chris Redfield. Jill Valentine has several different paths you must take.
When you have beaten the game figurines which are viewable in the Bonus Gallery will become unlocked.
Drop weapons that you don't use to get ammunition that will be more useful to you because the ammunition that drops during the game is distributed based on the type of weapons you have.
This feature will become an available option when you complete 'Desperate Escape' on the Veteren difficulty setting.
Jill's partner and the leader of the BSAA West Africa Branch will become a playable character when you have completed 'Desperate Escape' on any difficulty setting.
This is done by displaying the 'Inventory' screen and combining ammunition manually with your weapon. When you do this weapons like the shotgun will reload much faster than by doing the normal method. This trick also works when climbing ladders or jumping. You can also Reload your weapon instantly by starting the melee sequence when the melee option appears.
When you upgrade the indicated weapon you will be able to buy from the shop the corresponding firepower.
Unlock M93R (Samurai Edge custom):
Fully upgrade the M92F pistol.
Unlock Hydra Triple Barrel Shotgun:
Fully upgrade the Ithaca M37 shotgun.
Unlock Longbow (Sheva exclusive):
Fully upgrade S75 rifle.
Unlock Gatling Gun (Chris exclusive):
Fully upgrade the VZ61 machine gun.
Unlock Smith & Wesson M500 Magnum (HandCannon):
Fully upgrade the S&W M29 Magnum.
When you beat the game on any difficulty setting in under 5 hours the Infinite Rocket Launcher can be unlocked by going to the 'Bonus Features' menu and enabling the 'Infinite ammo' option.
When you beat the game on the indicated difficulty setting the corresponding bonus feature will become available.

Beat the game once.
Unlock New Game+ Mode:
Beat the game once.
Unlock 'History Of Resident Evil':
Beat the game once.
Unlock Infinite Ammo:
Beat the game once with a fully upgraded weapon. Then purchase the unlimited ammo from the 'Bonus Features' section with points.
Play as Sheva Alomar:
Beat the game once.
Unlock Chris Redfield's Safari Costume:
Beat the game once.
Unlock Sheva's Clubbin Costume:
Beat the game once.
Unlock Classic Horror Filter:
Beat the game on Amateur mode.
Unlock Retro Filter:
Beat the game on Normal mode.
Unlock Professional Mode:
Beat the game in Veteran mode.
Unlock Noise Filter:
Beat the game in Veteran mode.
The following playable characters become available options when you get an 'A' rank in the corresponding Mercenaries mode mission.
