I got the firewood and all, but how do I get the fire going? I mean where/how do I get the dried grass needed to start the fire?

It is near the research lab, at the end of the stones.
You can also start it with lightning after you get the firewood.
You can see a few grass are brown and take one of your villagers to grad the dry grass above the lab in front of the totem
Finally found it looks like a brown leaf on the floor in front of the research lab quite close to the totem!
The dry grass is the little brownish patch near the research lab stepping stones
