It throws out a bulb of high energy plasma being orbited by a small subatomic cluster of neutrons. Once the plasma or neutrons come in contact with an enemy or obstruction the neutrons quickly recede into the plasma causing an atomic imbalance and any thing caught in the imbalance's 1-3 yard radius is suddenly sucked in towards the center of the plasma's atomic mass and condensed into an extremely small core of energy less the 5 microns across.
