Is it in any way possible to get wolves?
I ask this because I'm a massive wolf fan and wanted to make a pack, or breed one with my dog so I culd get some sort of cool mix out of it and even start my own sort of sanctuary for wolves.

Yes you can get wolves. They are usually only found in the woods and you have 60% chance of getting them at night and 40% of getting them at day. But you can't find wolves if your game is in Sunset Valley
And the cubs are as rare as unicorns in fall. You can do the testingcheatsenabled true. Trick and shift click to add them to your family or you can start with watching, let them sniff your hand, and feed a bone to get the family button activated. But remember, wild wolves can attack and caution looking for wolves at night if you have a expansion pack that allowed you to turn werewolves on. I am a wolf fan to and have 2 wolves and you can name them once they are part of your family and do shift click and add to edit family mode. Wolves can not telaport but werewolves can if a unicorn has used bless fauna on them that night twice.

Wolves are not in the Sims 3. You can make a dog look like one, though.
