Why can't I see my dog on sims 3 pets?

I've been playing with this family for awhile and then one day my dog was invisible. I can make her do things and I can see the thought bubble and the diamond above it's head but I can't see it. I've tried reset sim and that didn't work. What should I do?

I know it's a late reply, but I've just started playing again The Sims 3 and just encountered the issue. I solved it by moving the entire household.
