Is there a Sims University and a Sims 2 University?

I'm confused. I saw The Sims University at the store and when I looked it up on the internet--several times, actually--all I got was the Sims 2 University. So is there only a sims 2 University, or is there really a sims university also? I thiught there was no 2. Actually, I'm certain there was no 2. There are 2 questions I need answered: is there a sims university as well as a sims 2: university? And do you really need sims 2 to play sims 2 university?
