What I do is bring the cheat box up ( ctrl+shift+C ) and type in " MaxMotives" which describes it's self
Then bring the box back and type " MotiveDecay off " both of these will keep you and your employees motives maxed out will never decrease

I don't know anything about the talent badges

Your Sim and your employees will gain talent badges after working enough time at sales, restocking, or working the register (or fishing, gardening, giving makeovers, etc.). It doesn't happen right away, sometimes you need a couple of sim days before someone earns a badge.

I learned the hard way how to keep my employees happy. They kept quitting in droves and I couldn't keep them in the shop! LOL! Each employee will have a little circle above their head similar to your sim's plumbob. When it turns orange/red, they need to take a break. Click on them, select "Management," then "Take a Break." Then, LEAVE THEM ALONE. I kept telling all my employees to get back to work which basically means my sim was yelling at them. Then they would freak out and quit. After they have met all their needs, the circle will turn yellow or green (if they are VERY happy) and they will automatically go back to whatever they were doing before. Depending on your store, you will probably have to "cover" for them while they are on their break. I also made a little break room that only my employees and I can access with a place to sit, a radio, and a dartboard.

You also have to give your employees a raise whenever they earn a talent badge, or they will be considered "underpaid" and get mad and quit. I don't even wait until the end of the day anymore. As soon as the notification pops up, I raise their pay. ("Management," "Change Wage") Hope this helps.

Every talent badge is related to a skill, except fishing.
Cash Register is Logic.
Restock is Body.
Robotics is Mechanical.
Sales is Charisma.
Cleaning to Cosmetology and Gardening.
Creativity to other crafting stations.
The higher the skill the faster is learning talent badge.
Toy Making... It is a special case: it is based on both creativity and mechanical.

You need to give the employees breaks when the bubble over their head goes red and when they do their job they'll get a talent badge
