My Sims2 Double Deluxe PC game keeps crashing when my sim is abo

I have tried EVERYTHING. Updating the drivers, getting rid of unwanted unused programs from my comp... Clearing my cache and internet files... Technical support... Defragging my comp... Even updated my RAM to make PLENTY of space for this game... And for some odd frickin totally retarded reason... The entire game was running fine all frickin day for hours until DoomKitty and her partner decided to get knocked up. And so here she is trying to give birth.. And the sims2 application is serving her up with a rather nasty "abortion" EVERY SINGLE TIME shes about to give birth by the application "unexpectadly crashing" and it says "the application will close now" wth is going on??? Please someone help! Send me an e mail to [email protected] in case I forget to check back here for the answer... Ill try and come back to see if someone was able to help me... Thanks guys.

Sounds daft but you don't have anything running in the background do you?
Like an antivirus or something? SOmetimes those kind of things interfere with the game.
I don't really know any other reasons why it would do that. If it is playing for hours usually it just slows horribly when the ram memory is low.

Another possibility is that if your hard drive that the sims 2 is saved on has a small amount of space left, it causes problems. The sims 2 takes up SOO much space-which is fine if you have an external drive or don't have alot of programs or(unlike me) your C drive was made with alot of space. You will probably not like this idea, but it may be a good idea to move the family to another lot or delete it.

Guest answered:

Ok i sort of have the same problem, except it happen with all of my games.for some reason my graphics card is friggen jacked up so every time i play computer games the games crash so now im forced to only play internet games :(

Guest answered:

OKay, I have teh SAME exact problem. I have had my Sims 2 double deluxe for a while now, it comes with NightLife and Celebration stuff as expansion packs. But I got a new laptop so I was going to install it on there, and now everytime I try to go into a neighborhood, it freezes and makes a ding noise, and it says that "the application has crashed. it will now terminate." I have no idea what to do, and I have had this problem before. I don't remember what I did to fix it, but now it is totally not working. I have cleaned the disc, dusted out the drive that plays the disc, got rid of ALL my download folders, (which I never downloaded anything), and it STILL DOESN'T WORK. The graphics look amazing, and the tutorial thing works fine, but as soon as I try to enter or create a neighborhood, it crashes. ANYBODY KNOW anything BESIDES saying I need to delete something or call someone. I don't know if I need to scan it or clean out my computer or something.

I have this problem to, but just like the dude, it does it when my Beetlejuice family is about to have a kid. I saved it right before Lydia was going to have a baby, and now when ever i log on it goes "Wait for the stork to loosen his extra nots" then it crashes. I think the best thing to do is get rid of any UNUSED sims things like, new hairs that didnt work(scammers!) and this could also be caused my using the cheat "boolprop testinghceatsanabled true" And geting the tombstone to speed up the pregnancy, my reccomendation is to remake the family on a diffrent lot. sadly, they will lose theyre family generations and/or there homemade house. Thats what i did, and now Beetlejuice and Lydia have a little boy ^~^ "Juicybeetle"...

I did the same thing with my family and same thing happens every time! Did you use any cheats? I can't remember if I used the forceboy cheat or not. Don't recommend saving at this point just in case! If anyone finds a solution let me know! I don't want to delete my family lol

Did you ever find a solution to this problem???
Alianna013 answered:

I had that same problem with one sim but not with her sister who was living in the same house. i think it had some sort of problem because the male was vampier white without being a vampire. i made it that way with a cheat.

Yipes! That's awful! Do you have any custom content? Sometimes, if the creator makes a boo-boo, the file may wreak havoc on your game. Also, some custom content is made from Maxis objects from an expansion pack you may not have. Basically, examine your custom content. Ask yourself: Do I have the required sim games? Do I have any corrupted files? I hope that helps.

THE EXACT SAME THING happened to me. I have no clue. But as soon as my sims starts to give birth,it FREEZES! D:

Guest answered:

I have the exact problem.
I have The Sims 2 Double Deluxe (which includes the Sims 2 Deluxe, Nightlife and Celebration Stuff), Open for Business, Family Fun Stuff, and University. I have this sim who, everytime she times giving birth, just after the little box that says "Untying the storks" or something comes up, it dings! and says "The Sims 2 crashed. The application will now terminate"...
ITS PISSING ME OFF. SOMEONE FFS HELP ME. :/

both of my sims were sleeping and then they just froze, they wont get up at all! so the only sims that work is my kid and two babys. But the parents wont get up to take care of the babies so i have to keep using a cheat tht makes them happy so they dont get taken away by the social services. does anyone know how to unfreeze them?

Move them out of the house and then move them back in. I've had this happen several times and that is the only way I can fix it.

If you haven't figured this out yet, I know how to unfreeze sims when they won't move out of bed. You activate your boolprop cheat by hitting control, shift and C. This will open up your cheat box. In that box type in this EXACTLY like this.. boolprop testingcheatsenabled true then hit the enter key.. Now hit the shift key while selecting the frozen sim/sims and choose the force error option and select the reset. This will make them get out of bed.. Hope this helped!

my computer is freezing when it comes to the begining, even befour the town select menu comes up please replie on this site to help.

Use the boolproptestingcheatsenabled true and then right click he bed and press shift at the same time. The force error thing will pop up. Then click reset and the parents will be out of the bed.
Guest answered:

I have the same so I made a copy of the family(Like make a new family and name the same) And the move the crashing family out and delete them and the your fixed!

Guest answered:

I'm having that problem now. I uploaded a new 'stuff' pack and since then the game will crash everytime my Sim tries to give birth.
I tried creating a second family which did the exact same thing. I did use the 'boolprop testingcheatsenabled true' cheat but I don't think that has anything to do with it! All I can suggest is to uninstall your game and then reinstall it. This method does, however, mean you will LOSE all your data. Hope it helped.

Same! I don't want to do a ton of deleting and take up all this RAM stuff I don't understand! It may just mean that your (and my) computerz suck.

You could try uninstalling the game and then buying a new one and installing that to fix it? I have the same problem. And I think that's what I'm going to do.
It may not work, I'm sorry if it doesn't

Thebeetlejuice answered:

I have the exact problem with My Gothic[Beetlejuice] family! Lydia was giving birth and like 5 seconds after it has that message "wait for the stork to loosen the extra tight nots!" or wtv... It says it will terminate the program! I do believe what often causes it is the "Boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" cheat. Because, we all probably once made the tombstone of life and death then sped up pregnancy, But I have three ways to fix it! First one, Go to documents==>EA Games==>Sims2[or 3,or 1, whichever with the problem] and see if you have any unused hairstles, makeups, clothing and what not that never were succsesfully downloaded[or if you don't use them] and try to see if that was blocking anything up. If this was not succsesful, the second thing you could do, was to move them out of there house and move them back in.[this worked for me because that resets all the cheats you may have used with them.] And the third was to sadly, move that family in to the family bin, make an exact replica of the family, and then move them in a house and get them pregnant again, [dont use any cheats to speed up the pregnancy] this time, your baby should be succsesfull. The second is reccomended because you don't need to delete anything, and it worked for me. Now Beetlejuice and Lydia have there child, Juicybeetle...^~^

Guest answered:

Actually you're problem is not do with comp. It's you're sim. If you have a custom skin and it doesn't have the cfm, bfm and pfm files and you're sim gets preggo and makes it to right up to the delivery then the game gets confused because it can't generate the baby skin so it crashes. I had the same issue until I looked at the skin with body shop and saw missing children files so I just added the skins in myself.
