How do you make the Death Star (II) fire on a planet to blow it up?

When you begin a battle with the death star II, there should be a time on top of the screen. When the time reaches zero, a leaver next to the mini-map will be able to be pulled and the death star II will fire on the planet in a cinematic view. Or if you are not in a battle but in the galactic view, grab the fleet with your death star in it and drag it to the "destroy planet" slot and the planet will be instantly blown up.
