 spider monkey |
Date of Question: Aug 30 2009 | Question ID: 145678 I recently made a range pure account. Right now it has 27 range and 11 mage. Soooo....
1. Can I train mage and still be a pure or have I already ruined my new account?
2. What f2p quests do I need to avoid that gives out prayer/defense/attack/strength exp that can ruin my pure?
3. What are good stats for a range pure to have?

When I had a range Pure, I had a high level Range, and got my defence up slightly so I could wear range defensive gear, and that worked pretty well (:

Eagle Eye
Most Range Pures have a high mage level, so you're safe on that, also, strength and 40 attack, but pures normaly have no def (1 def)
I'd look up quests on a Runescape fan site, they'll help more than I can in that field.
60+ range 50+ mage 40+ strength, and 40 attack

For members alot Have high range and Magic, so they can use ancient magic and range from afar.
Just for knowledge you have a Hybrid, pures are only one stat, yes it doesn't matter but it bugs me a bit when people say that.
Not sure on all the quests, but Dragon Slayer, restless ghost are a couple to avoid.

High Mage does help Rangers for many spells like Ancients or Teleblock and could help for pvp.
Dragon Slayer, Vampire Slayer, and many members quests are what you want to avoid. Note that without Dragon Slayer you can't wear Green D'hide body (f2p. If member get range to 50 and you can wear blue D'hide body)
Highest range level, a decent mage level. Up to protect from Melee prayer or Eagle Eye prayer (44).
