How Do You Groom The Horse! PLZ help!
I am having trouble working out how to groom the horse. I go over with the brush and it won't go green?
It wouldn't work in my first 'new game' with the white horse and I only had 1 brush, but then started another new game and got it to work after naming the horse it was a dapple grey, but now that I've bought the other 2 brushes it won't work at all1
What AM I doing wrong!! Urrrgggg!!!!!!!! LOL

The problem is that either you have a newer computer that does not include a part of Windows that most of the old games are set to use. This game does not work on my new computer, but it does on my old one

You have to click on the brush and drag it to the horse and then groom he/she

i have this same problem. i have windows 7, and sometimes the game decides that the horse will be groomed and sometimes it won't. i have a feeling that it's random, and if only i hadn't installed W7... :(

I'm having the same trouble, grooming, no dirt left, and the button won't go green - running windows 7 which is useless for old games! I need a solution!

No. Windows 7 is fine. It did that on my other computer too. Its jsut random. You go back and then do something else with your horse and then click on groom agen.

I have the same problem too! Every time I try again it won't work still, the problem started after I bought another brush, is there an error in the coding if you buy more brushes? Grooming had worked before I bought the new brush and I was nearly done, but I had accidentally deleted my account, but now I can't even get past grooming, what do I do?

I have wndows 8 and the computer I'm using is really new. I can get up to the compitition part and then it doesn't work from there. I have uninstalled and installed again and it's not working.My advice is, if it NEVER goes green, try it on an older PC. It was released in 2005 so try a PC from around then.

I am having the exact same problem. When you start up the game and Davy shows you how to use everything in the stable, all you do is look at all the options then it will let you exit. But when you have to collect your belongings you still have to groom the dapple horse and it wont go green. Does anybody know how to get past this on the Windows7?

I have figured out a way to "fix" the problem. Although it's not so much of a fix as a cheat.
Go into the folder where you have installed the game, it'll look something like this:
C:/Program Files/Kudosoft/Saddle Up/Saves
In the Saves folder, open the file called "[player name]_Horses" using Notepad.
In the 3rd row and the 15th column, it'll say "ToDo". Change this to "Done". What this does is change the status of the grooming to finished, so that the game thinks you have finished grooming your horse. Save the file and exit. Then play the game.
As I said, it's not a fix but it's one way to allow you to at least continue playing the game.
